My fear is that Grigs is going to go get Fairley, and that is it for the Dline. We have Art Jones who is going nowhere, we also have Chapman, who the brass seem to like. So I am scared this could be our only big name on the D side of the ball.

The board seems split on Gore, I am undecided as well. I don't mind giving Gore 4M$/year, but if Murray goes for 8M$/year, who do you pick? If Murray is 10M$/year then yes Gore for sure, but if he's in the 7-8 range, I think I would rather have Murray.
-
They really need to go and get Rodgers a big TE/WR red zone threat.
I think Julius Thomas would be an excellent fit in Green Bay. I don't think they'll get him though.
-
I didn't want him, but it would have been nice if he went to oakland, miami, or jacksonville to eat up some of their cap.

If Ellerbe is cut, I bet we sign him. I'm not against signing him, but it better be for cheap. 2 year 7M$ or something similar

I'm not sold on Spiller. I don't know enough about him to be excited about getting him, or not wanting to get him. My only thing is that I am getting sick of this "running back by committee" we have been doing for the last 3 years. I understand Trent was suppose to be our #1 RB with no questions, but I don't want to get rid of him just to find someone else to do the same thing. We already have Herron and Carter, if we get Spiller, does he get 90% of the offensive snaps? 75?% 50%? I'm not sure if he does. Personally, I think whoever we sign, they should be taking 75%+ of the offensive snaps. In my mind, the only ones out there worth of that are AP or Murray. If we want to go the committee approach, then we need the hard hitter (Gore, Bradshaw) and the flighty (Bush, Spiller,) to go with them. but either way, Herron can not be our #1 RB, I don't really like him as our #2. Carter we need to see how he is after his injuries before we know what role he has, or if he gets cut even.

I'm guessing Either this years 5th rd pick, or next years 4th. The good things is that it eats up more of the Jets salary cap

My only thing is players should decide like a week before free agency. If I'm Reggie Wayne, I don't want the colts to go and sign Andre Johnson and Nicks, and here I am a #5 WR and kind of be forced into retirement because I didn't tell them in time. I also wouldn't want them to not sign anybody and then on March 21st wish them good luck and retire. I know it's a business and all, but show a little courtesy.

I didn't see that coming

I think our biggest 2 holes on the Oline is C and RG. I know a bunch of you are crying about Cherilus, but I would rather sign a stud FA RG and hope Cherilus plays well, then get rid of Cherilus, and hope Thornton play well. I think the odds are better of Cherilus being better. I would love to sign either Boling or Lupati to play RG and the C Wiz from Oakland. Resign Donald Thomas to a vet min deal for depth. We would have a starting line of:
Castonzo, Mewhort, Wiz, Lupati/Boling, Cherilus
With Thornton, Thomas, Harrison, Homes as depth.
Lupait, Boling and Wiz will all probably be in the 8M$ a year range. Grigs might not want to put 16M$ into the O line, but with 45M$~ to spend, I would be fine with 16M$ to the Oline, 6M$ to a WR, then leave 23M$ to the Def.

Apparently Obrien told him he wasn't even going to start! No wonder why he wants out. I forget where I read it but his agent says there are 3 teams willing to pay him 10M$ a year. I highly doubt that. I think he is just trying to drive his price up. Anything under 5M$ sign him, anything over let him go elsewhere.
-
I would take AP for sure IF he is cut. No way am I trading anything for him and his bloated salary. If he isn't cut, I'd resign Bradshaw for 1 year 1M$, go get Gore for 2 year/8M$ and maybe get Bush for 1 year 3M$
Gore can start, Bradshaw can give him a break, Bush for the change of pace, Herron can give him a break. Out of the 4, 2 will be on IR by playoffs anyways lol.

NFL.com suggests a 3 year 12M$ deal like steve smith.
I would take AJ to be our #2 at that kind of a contract. Let Moncreif learn a little more as our #3. Anything under 6M a year I would take him. We gave Nicks 5.5M$ I'd be ok giving it to AJ.

If we are truly going to make a play for Mack, we need structure a deal, that pays a modest 8M$ a year, with incentives like "if we don't win 9 games or more, have an extra 2M, if we miss the playoffs, have an extra 2M, " Things that we will probably certainly do, so we don't have to pay, but Cleveland probably won't, so they will have to pay, and won't want to pay 12M$ a year for him.
-
I'm afraid he'll be too expensive. Plus we still need a C an FS. I don't see it happening unless we sign Goodwin or Costa to cheap C deals.
-
the 2 big problems our Oline had last year was Donald Thomas getting hurt early, and Samson Satele. With Thomas back and Satele gone, our Oline is very improved. All we need is a C. Sign goodwin to a 1 year deal, and go after mack next year. Oline solved.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Colts are waiting for Cleveland to use up a lot of it's cap, then make play for Mack.
-
Is it possible for the Colts to offer Mack a 10 year 150M$ contract, that paid him like 8M, 8M, 8M, 8M, 14M,18M,20M, 22M, 22M, 22M=150M Give him say 20M guaranteed over the 1st 3 years, so he could be cut after 3 or 4 years with no cap hit, but, make it known to him, that after he signs, he would restructure his deal to more like 5 year/45M$ with 25M guaranteed.
I don't know if that would work, or if Cleveland would still sign that with the hope to restructure as well. Just an idea.

The Detroit Lions will host free-agent center Phil Costa on Wednesday and fullback Henry Hynoskion Thursday, according to the team's official website.

Yeah, people said that about Manning and Freeney too. There is no way we re-sign Mathis for 3 more yrs. for almost 7 mil. A yr.. Absolutely will not happen.
Well, Manning got paid 20M$ to be a broken neck cheer leader, AND we had the 1st pick in the draft. If we were picking 15, Manning would still be a Colt. Freeney had a down year and didn't transition from 4-3 DE to 3-4 OLB very well. He was too expensive to put him in a position he didn't play well. Mathis on the other hand, is coming off his best year yet, and it's NOT a contract year. My last point, if DeMarcus Ware is worth 3 year/30M$ guaranteed at 32 years old, Mathis at 34 will be worth 6-7M$ a year, assuming he has a productive season (10 sacks)
-
only 1 of those 4 teams has a QB. Unless he wants to be a bust, he'll go to Detroit. Or he'll call another team like us (no I don't want him) and say "Houston will pay me 7M$ a year, I'll sign with you for 5M$. You guys don't wanna play against me twice a year do you?"
-
10M$ a year? Isn't he 32? They over paid.
-
I like Vick in Cleveland. If they can get Tate, and another WR (james Jones or Nicks?) They would have a pretty solid team. Cleveland CAN'T draft and develop a QB, might as well sign a vet for a couple years and let Hoyer develop a bit more.

THANK GOD Vontae was a FA last year. If he was a FA this year, he'd be getting 12-13M$/year, and people thought he was expensive last year.
