The more it seems like Taylor and his agent are steering toward Miami, the more inclined I would be to shut this all down, tell Taylor 'no trade, play here or don't play,' be prepared to put him on IR, and still be prepared to tag him in 2024.

I think Taylor will want to get one more year of service so he can become a UFA in 2024.

He'll have alot more leverage then

He's adamant he wont play until he's 100%.  I dont think thats quite what the team goes by though, if hes cleared by doctors then he either has to play or is officially holding out

This could get really ugly if they dont trade him and he doesnt play.  He wont be a free agent next year and will still be signed for the same amount he is set to make this year.

Thats fine.  I don't want the narrative from him and his agent that the Colts forced him to play hurt.

In fact, if he is hurt, he shouldn't stand on the sidelines for 2+ hours.  He should just sit in a wheel chair and take all the weight off his ankle and have a trainer push him around.

Henry got $25 million GTD in a 4 year $50 mill.

Give JT 4 years $40 million with the same $25 million guaranteed, there is a good chance he takes it based on the GTD money.

    Huh ? When ?

According to spotrac Henry is only under contract for 2023 at 12.75 M

"Henry is entering the final year of a four-year, $50 million contract inked in 2020. The deal includes $25 million in guaranteed money, an average annual salary of $12.5 million, and a $12 million signing bonus.Mar 22, 2023"

Holder did NOT spread false information.   I may have been the one to post it and start it.   I haven’t read every post, so I don’t know if anyone else posted something similar, but I’ll take the hit.   Let’s assume it was me.

    But it was NOT Holder.

No disrespect intended NCF but Holder published a story on ESPN.

How could you start a national story ?

Part of Taylor’s very sour relationship is that the Colts reportedly pushed him to come back late in the 22 season.   Taylor did and suffered another ankle injury (it may be two more ankle injuries?).

When other players have had similar contract problems, one of the ways teams have used to compromise is this….   The team gives a financial sweetener (Ekler) plus the team agrees to only apply a Tag on the player only once instead of twice.   So the Colts would get the best 5 years from JT instead of six and then he’d be unrestricted.   I’m just saying this might be an option.   Don’t know if the Colts would even be willing to do this?   Just thinking out loud.

Do you have a link to this ? Why would the Colts push JT to come back late in the season ?

The season was over and pushing a hobbled JT into action wasn't going to win us any more games

if those tweets are true, that is disgusting on part of the organization

Reich's job was on the line ... encouraged Taylor to play through?

I don't believe this tweet at all.

Why force Taylor to play ?  We were already losing.  It wasn't like playing a hobbled Taylor was going to suddenly win us games.

I can't see either Saturday or Frank insisting that Taylor play injured.  The season was already down the tubes.

Frank was a dead man walking until he got fired.

this is the result of the NFL creating rules that favor the passing game.

    100% accurate.

You have justin herbert who's never won a playoff game sign a deal for 252M.

You have a decent not great LT in NY sign a contract for 117M for 5 years. How does Barkley feel about that?

You have premier WRs now pulling down 25m per year typically.

You have Diggs the cb in Dallas signing a deal for 97M.

That money has to come from somewhere.

My fellow Colts fans, the game is changing and we must have the courage to change with it.

Cincinnati, KC, and the Bills are explosive offenses that can put up alot of points in a hurry.

We have to get away from the ground and pound, 3 yards and a cloud of dust mentality.

Otherwise we'll never beat those teams

I do get agents try and get the best deal for their players, that is his job. It is the way he is going about it though that is childish. He and Irsay both would have been better off just staying quiet IMO. JT probably has a ton on his mind to think about.

    Oh I agree 100%.

I'm just saying fans are blaming JT's agent when the two are in cahoots with each other.
