I could see the Colts taking Milton in round 5 or 6
I think he has potential to be number 2 QB on the Colts in a year or two
He looks and moves like a carbon copy of AR
He could learn from Flacco and from holding a clipboard

I am a personal sceptic on trading up
I think its probably MORE likely that we trade back, and get an additional 2nd (or 3rd)
If we didnt have a QB to develop, or if there was a cant miss DE, I would think that Ballard would consider it.
I dont see it in this draft
We need a WR, and this draft is packed with talent (we can get our guy in round 1 or 2)

There used to be a thing called presumption of innocence.
Who knows what happened? I don't
The legal system let him go. That's VERY important.
I think the Colts (and NFL) should allow a time served situation and let him compete for a spot on the roster.
I think he was a really good TE that was JUST starting to develop.

I like guys like DeJean and Mitchell, but I think drafting a CB at 15 will be a waste in this scheme with this DC. I think you COULD make an argument for the top FS if this wasn't such a terrible safety draft, but I think the pick is better spent on DL or WR. Purely my opinion of course.
I'm with you
My personal hope is that they use the 1st on a WR or DE, but they MIGHT go CB
I would actually like a trade back to pick in the late 20s and get the best
WR or DL available

Agree. The kid is a playmaker. I think he has the football instincts like Leonard had. I think he’s our pick at 15. Then WR in the 2nd and OL in the 3rd.
He might be
I think we need a stud WR or DE more, but I would be happy with the pick of Cooper Dejean

I'd rather have him at FS. If we could somehow get him with our 2nd pick that would be awesome.
I think we would have to trade back into the first to get him. (With our 2nd pick)
I dont see the Colts giving up a first round next year to get back into the first
I could see a trade back in round 1 to the 20s, but would grab AD Mitchell before I would take DeJean
This will be an interesting draft
We need to get a separation type WR
We need to get a FS (FA probably)
We need to add to the DL room
We need to add to the OL room

He may not be worth the 15th overall, but he could be a trade back target.
Agreed
He is an "Aw shucks" midwestern kid, that I think appeals to Ballard
Great work ethic, great performance in 2022 with 5 INTS
In interviews, he doesnt want to have attention on him...... classy kid
He is also 6' 1" and 207 lbs and can level the WR or RB in front of him
He hits like a LB
IF we go CB, he is my first choice
He also can be a star FS for us as well, if we wanted

One of the easier ones IMO. I'd take Arnold. I think he's the best CB in the draft and I think if Ballard drafts him this would mean a bit of a change of direction or at least an attempt to diversify the coverage we are playing since he's one the best preess-man corner prospect in the draft.
We need a CB
BUT
If we plan on playing zone all the time his awesome talent might be wasted

Latu could be our pick at 15. Good RAS score at 9.19. Pro Ready, can play football now. He has injury concerns which may cause him to fall to 15 to us. I think he's a possibility.
Until we have the stud DE I think you have to keep trying
Supposedly Latu has passed all the medical concerns
He has played 2 more years injury free since that year off
I would be very happy with any of the 3 1st round DEsJonah Ellis should be there at 46 as well if we go WR in round 1
He was injured much of last year and still posted great stats (12 sacks)

we still need to sign Diggs or Simmons.
Agree 1000%
We can’t leave that role to a rookie
In THIS defense

Thought I’d take a shot at this.
The Colts make one trade after several targets go off the board before pick 15.
They deal with Arizona, trading Picks 15 and 151 for picks 27, 66 and 90, giving them three 3rd round picks( incl. their own). Gives them 5 picks in the top 90.
Pick 27: Cooper DeJean, CB/S, IowaPick 46: Roman Wilson, WR, Michigan
Pick 66: Cam Hart, CB, N. Dame
Pick 82: Marshawn Kneeland, DE, W. Mich.
Pick 90: Mason McCormick, G, S. Dak. St.
RD 4 : James Williams, LB, MiamiRD 6 : Kristian Boyd, DT, N. Iowa
RD 7 : Isaiah Davis, RB, S. Dak. St.
Thoughts:
1. I think Cooper D. will be a stud, likely moving to FS and giving the Colts a solid future at the position. Just a pure, uber-talented football player.
2. Roman Wilson is probably a first round pick in any normal NFL draft. This one just happens to be amazingly stacked at WR.
3. Hart, Kneeland and McCormick can contribute their first year and are future starters, as is Williams.
4. Boyd and Davis are solid depth.
5. I can certainly see the Colts grabbing a block first TE later in the draft as a replacement for MAC.Nice mock !!

definitely agree, he’s everything Steichen wants and then some. And he’s obtainable. Reason why I said we may need to make moves in the second because there is going to be a run on WRs from the back of the first round and it will probably continue through the second. So may need to get antsy and move from the 46 if he slides a little. Bills, Chiefs, Ravens are just three teams in the first I see going WR. Add in the second round teams and you can see where I’m getting at.Regarding Pierce, unless the person we draft absolutely shows out in camp, Pierce should start. He’s the vet, he’s familiar with what we do. But if pierce isn’t doing the job and the rookie flashes, I can see Pierce moving to WR4. I could be wrong, Pierce may show me up with AR and become that field stretcher we need. But idk, unless Pierce is getting one on one looks, I don’t see anything changing. I personally think not only do we need someone to push back the safties deep, but someone who can do it quickly and even find open spaces deep and that’s just something Pierce has yet to do consistently. We’ll see.
If Pierce gets beat out in camp, I could still see him getting MANY snaps during a game.
Running a jet many times a game, wipes you out
There are at least 6 WRs that could fit the explosive role in this draft AND be available from picks 15 thru 46
I know the "theme" from many here is to take the best CB at 15 , and of course, I have no idea what they will do, but
My "gut" says that we will go in RD 1-2
WR-DL OR DL-WR
Cam Hart and Khree Jackson are PERFECT for this ZONE defense that we play.
Mitchell is better, but Cam and Khyree can play this defense well, especially if we had a very good FS behind him
Both would (should) be available in round 3
WR-DL-CB
or
DL-WR-CB
So....... if that is MY prediction Ballard will probably go
OG-OG-OG

I would be very happy with either
One or BOTH might be available if we trade back 2-6 spots

The correct time to be "all in" is when you know your QB is and will play great. The Colts are a year away from that but hopefully AR shines.
Agreed

Delayed gratification still being sought out with Paye and Dayo, along with Ebukam.
These are all "good" players
Every team needs good players
Watching Paye be handled one on one, down after down after down.......
We need the player that can get the pressure when needed

The Texans gave up a 2nd rounder in 2025, how is that too much? By anyone's measure, Diggs is a top 5-7 WR in the league. If anything, the Bills got fleeced.
He was supposedly a locker room cancer
The one that bugged me most was the tiny amount given up to get Pro Bowl DE Haasan Reddick
He went for a 2026 conditional mid level pick
He would have been a perfect pickup for the Colts
Im not clear why we didnt make a move there
He is better than any DE we have today. Why not

Not saying a GM change is needed.
But, I don't think Ballard will ever go all in and get free agents or trades left and right like Texans have done...
First of all, Ballard needs to go over the price limit or whatever limit he sets during negotiations for a truly difference maker like Hunter, and that'd be a baby step.
However, Until his tenure ends, I think he'll stand by his philosophy and build the roster via draft mostly, and sometimes a trade or value free agent in a year.
Ballard owns the team members
We have had a bottom 5 defense the past two years, no improvement
We had too many false steps at QB
We still havent found a stud DE
All I am saying is the clock SHOULD be ticking here, not that we need to dump CB...... YET

It as all on AR now. Stroud proved to be the Texans QB of now and the future. Had AR stayed healthy and played well, the Colts would have made the playoffs and things would be different. Right now the team needs AR to play like a first round QB and play well.
I dont disagree, BUT
Stroud, by the end of the year was a top 5 QB in the NFL
Take this talent and add MUCH MORE talent. and they will be very hard to beat
I am hopeful that AR grows this next year, and looks the part, in the offseason next year, we may make some more aggressive moves.... (Like the Texans are doing right now)
