  1. My wishlist:

Malik Jackson from DEN. So we have a good rusher from the inside, also because Henry suffered a knee injury so dont rush him. But mainly cause i drool from an inside pass rusher and he is legit.

Stefen Wisneski (or whatever his lastname is). C is our biggest need on offense. Not much more i need to say.

Either Osemele/Schawrtz/Andre Smith. if we sign any of those RT (Smith/Shcwartz...I like Schartz better), it means we move Joe Reitz to RG and we all happy.

If we sign Osemele, the RG position gets solved and i trust Joe to still play RT. The only thing is im pretty sure Osemele played LG with Yanda playing RG. But i guess he would be able tplay RG?

Why not Mack? cause i think Wisneski is good enough  and wont command that as much money as Mack.

and just go all in on defense on draft: CB / OLB / ILB are all huge needs IMO.

that is true, but after posting that question, I remembered that Pagano's first choice for DC was Keith Butler...also a product of Pittsburgh and Dick LeBeau.  So Horton would make sense keeping that in mind.  Maybe Pagano wanted to have someone with a background in zone to complement his own background in man coverage to try to have the best of both?

    Had completely forgotten about Butler.

I dont know man I am not a fan of trying out everything because it looks/ sounds cool. I like things to be done with a direction and clear plan. It feels to me(But what the heck do i know since i am just a fan) meshing zone blitz vs his man blitz scheme wouldnt work.

On the other hand Pagano might let his coordinators coach the way they want.So i guess no idea ;)

I'd be great with either of those guys.  Something I didn't put together until last night is that Horton was Chud's DC in Cleveland.  However, Horton is also a LeBeau disciple, so would that mean a switch to more zone coverage than man?

    Just said something really similar...

Ive been a Horton fan for some time, but i understand the difficulties in messhing Pagano's Man vs Ray Hortons zone blitz scheme.

As big of a fan I am of Horton, I dont think it would be good since I assume Chuck wants Defense to have his print.

It was a 3-4 in Buffalo, if I remember right. The 4-3 was in Detroit and Tennessee.

But Mike Pettine would be a great choice as well.

I might be wrong but im almost sure when he was there he was running a 4-3(Buff).

    Yea Pettine connection looks obvious.

Regardless of 4-3 3-4 Jim schartz...My top 2 choices are ](in order) Horton and Pettine. However i can see why Ray might be problematic since he seems to come from more of a zone blitz, not man like chucks.

Well that ends the other threads debate. Bye Greg it wasn't all your fault. I hope we interview Schwatz.

I understand people will want him but does he even fit? This is still Chucks Defense and Schwartz runs a 4-3 D doesnt he?

Also, that defense on buffaloo looked so godly mostly because they had ridiculous talent, i dont think he would replicate that success here.

  6. They are now also targeting Mexico,China, and Canada with Brazil and Germany on the Radar as well.  It's called untapped markets.  The 3 London games this year are all sold out.  So developing a fan base where TV ads could be additional revenues in Europe and othe rparts of North America is smart.

"The work we're doing now is to ask, 'How do we accelerate the agenda in Mexico, Canada and China?'" Mark Waller, NFL EVP, International, told Breer. "Those would be our next stage, and we have offices in those three countries. And then, after those, where should be our focus? I think we've concluded that Brazil and Germany are the next two frontier markets, which is where the Pro Bowl idea comes from."

** The league wants to extend the International Series beyond London, Breer writes. The target date is 2017 and Mexico and Germany are the target countries. The stadiums in Mexico City still need work, and the biggest issue in Germany is finding an over-the-air carrier for the regular-season games.**

They  (NFL) are said to be on target to have a team based out of London by 2022.  Those markets and the U.S. female audience is now the focus.  They have the U.S. male fan base already. And they know it.

THEN DONT CHOOSE MEXICO CITY...I SWEAR IT GETS ON MY NERVERS...its like mexico is only mexico city.

I live in Guadalajara, second most important city in Mexico we got a new stadium built like 8 years ago and its top notch.

Also Mexico city stadium, Azteca, is not that "modern" but the arena is huge and really good anyways

  7. Flip over to "NFL in General". Read "What is the NFL trying to accomplish in Europe" thread. Especially, the I formation that "ColtsBlueFL" has put into his posts. Good info pertaining to the countries that the NFL is targeting, including Mexico.

nice, I will talke a look.

    thx

  8. My post impressions after listening to Dan's interview:

--Why keep bringing up Bruce Arians? He's not running the show for us 2015 man.

--He feels no blame for Luck getting hurt? Seriously? You are paid to keep Andrew upright for 16-20 weeks? Don't highlight how exceptional Matthew is. If your back QB is in, you screwed up Grigs.

--Ryan is cool with drafting Dorsett? Best Player available nonsense yet again. When does BPA collide with WR roster surplus Grigson?

--Do you want to continue the partnership with Chuck Pagano after this year? If Irsay asked your opinion on Pagano once his contract expires, what would you tell him? Status quo or a new direction?

--The offensive line is a separate entity from the QB. They are Luck's 1st & last line of defense. Yes, Andrew is a vital cog in the mix, but the o-line is the airbag in the car not the driver okay...

--Where in this 35 minute interview did Grigson address directly his failures with regard to Trent Richardson? He didn't. Forget general draft/free agency strategy. Answer the question you were actually asked please.

--I love that our owner, our GM, & our owner are driven to win, but just answer what you are asked & drop the mountain top cliches please...

--Honest, non canned answers Dan? He didn't give any answers. "Grown caboose man act like Grigson does" No, they don't. They are blunt, truthful, & don't side step difficult questions...Sigh...

Luck got hurt on a scramble he had no business in. just slide and he isf ine. how is that Grigson fault?

OL is mediocre, is not the worst line of football despite narrative.

Why is dorsett pick line of think wrong? I mean i get we dont like a WR int he first thats fine we all wanted Defense or OL or whatever. But if he was clrealy above and beyond anybody else at that pick then go for it. Thats what good GM's do. Thats how Jordy Nelson ended up in GB when they already had Jennings and Driver and other dude which i forgot right now.

  9. There really is no benefit to doing that now.

I Disagree. Players  are also getting affected.

If you are firing GM anyways at seasons end there it is better doing it now. Why wait have him plan when he is gone anyways and you give new GM extra time to evaluate.

I do agree on Pagano no point.

Also it might affect external perception regardig possible HC and free agents coming, I mean  i dont think a lot o fplayers wanted to go to jags/raiders a few years ago but money. We wont have money after lucks contract and others

  10. I've made no apology for Grigsons inability to fix the O Line but they are not nearly as bad this year as some will lead you to believe, When you quit on the run game, Throw 28 times in a row, Hang into the ball for 3 seconds almost every play, Make no mistake...Im not making any grand statements of this O Line being great or even really good but I think if all healthy they are better then what many think, As a matter of fact I'd put both sacks on Luck vs the Panthers:

1st sack Gore ran what appeared to me to be a Texas route concept and Hilton ran what appeared to be a Drag route, Andrew appeared to have his eyes down field on Moncrief with Gore wide open with a lot of room to run after the catch (1st quarter 2:02 left...off Reitz)

    2. 2nd sack came the 2nd play of the 4th Quarter at 14:57.......He did hang onto the ball a bit to long BUT nobody could get open, He had room to take off and scramble up the middle which would have avoided the sack given up by Castonzo

i dont believe the oline is that bad. honestly

I kinda like Thornton regardless of this forum.

i just said what were examples of him meddling with coaching decitions

Why go to SB when Holder has the actual article? And because of the portion quoted below, this article has teeth. Much more than anything else that has been reported about this staff.

    That's not good.

The article is written in such a way that I don't think Holder's sources are players, but rather 'NFL sources' who claim to have heard this from Colts players. Either way, this story is going round and round, and if it's true that this meeting was last week -- before the Panthers game, and before Pep was fired -- then it calls into question the effectiveness of this kind of leadership.

No question Pep needed to go. If it's true that he was Grigson's guy, then the fact that he's now gone might be a sign that Grigson's authority is reduced from what it was previously.

Or Grigson trying to save his job (along with Pagano)

  12. I want to know who Grigson is saying can't play that should be playing? I don't see anybody that is starting on the O line that should not be starting. And I don't see anybody starting at the skill positions that should not. I can't see how chuck would conclude that anybody else should be playing other than who we have in there now. Where is the divide?

i think the point was that Grigson made Chuck start Louis at LG, Herremans at RG and Mewhort at RT. I can tottally see that since i remember some interviews where he was raving about louis and how he was the best OL on bears before injury etc etc.

I can also see herremans since he got him and Mewhort since he talked about versatility with him
