As I said above, the whole idea of firing someone has been created by the fans and the media.  Irsay never alluded to it and an 8-8 record generally doesn't warrant it.

Irsay is under no obligation to say anything more, so I'm not sure what everybody's waiting for.

if that was the case then why the suspense? He would have the meeting with Chuck before his presser and that be all. Something is happening, otherwise chuck would have said " I already have talke dto Irsay and im coming back" Instead he said he hasnt talked and he believes *NOT KNOW* he is coming back.

why cancel their/RG show last night also, etc.

I am not saying they will get fired, who knows, and maybe they come out as if nothing happened but to me its pretty evident they were making a decision.

I think if the 2017 Colts have a starting line of AC, Mewhort, Kelly, Haeg and Clark, they will be good.

Im curious, what do you think of Haeg as Guard? Is he good at pushing people in run game?

eh, first few days, same day at 10pm...tomato tomahtoe..lol

Because it's not an easy decision to make and he absolutely should take as much time as he needs to make sure he makes the correct decision.  Now, if he's going to make changes, then he's not going to want to get behind in the search for new GM and/or Coach while current candidates are already being interviewed, but that's still no reason to rush such an important decision.

I understand that but the team was eliminated from Playoffs 2 weeks ago or 3. The results of the last game shouldnt have any consecuences on his decision, yet it looks that way. He should have made his mind already, whatever the outcome of the last sunday

I agree he needs to figure out this and it takes time, but its been enough time. It makes him look "unprepared"

Maybe Irsay hasn't made up his mind yet.

thats even worse. Why hasnt he decided? why leave things untill now?

They were eliminated from playoffs like 2 weeks ago it should have been enough time. Looks to me that he is trying to convince himself on keeping them

  5. You can tell the runblock has improved leap and bounds. I am still woried whoever is on the OL cant seem to pick up stunts etc but you can see that when given more talent in Kelly/Haeg/Raven the OL looks better vs the other guys who are not so talented

If we could do that scenario, I'd take it in a second. I just don't see us getting Reuben Foster, even if we lose to the Jags. I expect him to be the 2nd defensive player off the board after Myles Garrett. If he bombs the combine, we have a slight chance, otherwise he'll be gone IMO. Agree on Anderson, would love him in the 2nd, combine him with Melvin Ingram, and re-sign Erik Walden and Akeem Ayers, and we'll have a respectable front 7. The ILB is the thing we'll have to figure out what to do with.

yea and this doesnt seem to be a strong ILB class. Like you said, if Reuben is not there i would agree with CB first if there is a slam dunk there. I still value OBL more but it seems you can get great value on the second on this class

Also, i dont know there might be some people who fall in love with tim williams and / or value more other positions than ILB. I havent checked the needs of other teams before us to really know if they are looking for ILB

There is always the desperate team that jumps on a QB, a WR or even a LT

I was doing some mocks and some research on the draft this morning, I'm leaning towards taking a CB 1st round and a pass rusher 2nd round as well. Would love to get Marlon Humphrey or Quincy Wilson 1st round, and Ryan Anderson or Takarrist McKinley 2nd round.

i was doing the same but thought....why dont we resolve the LB issue alltogether this season:

Ingram as FA, Reuben Foster and Ryan anderson as our 1/2.

If there is MAYBE a trend with RG is that he focuses on a group. 2 Years ago we all knew DL had to get some help and he went and got Parry/anderson/Langford. Last year it was OL and kelly/haeg/LeRaven happened. Maybe is a coincidence but i would like to just have our front 7 ready for once.

Also, I personally value more OLB than CB so theres that.

We could use a few complementary pieces like Garcon for an underneath WR option, Jarvis Jones/Nick Perry for OLB, and wouldn't mind an ILB like Zach Brown/Kevin Minter on the right side of 30 with some experience.

Then, the rest, we go to the draft, IMO. OL, you have what you have, I do think we have the pieces and with what is invested in the LT position and the previous OL draft picks, I do not think they are even thinking OT, it is all pointing towards D and an RB thrown in there somewhere, IMO.

I do think that if we don't win the division next year, both Pagano and Grigson are gone, IMO. Making the playoffs will not suffice for Irsay next year.

i dont like either jarvis jones or nick perry. I think they will command money and im just not sold. Maybe Ingram from SD? but not a fan either.

I'd like RG or RT, im guessing TJ lang - philbin connection. Then a NT like benny logan, not a HUGE parry fan.

I know we have more pressing needs but i dont like the FA class at our needs. There are some good RG/RT and also good NTs.  Maybe Timmons for ILB.

Dont think Trumaine Johnson will walk away. Not sure if there other worthy CB's, which is why Id' preffer to take other players which are better IMO than just give money to positions of need. I rather get us a OLB on Round 1 / 2 / 3 than overpay one of those

I've seen times where Luck has an underneath route open (I think yesterday he had Hilton or Dorsett open late in the game on an underneath route), but his eyes are always looking downfield for the deep throw.

sure, and if we disect everygame we will see tons of that which is bad.

But I also have to wonder, maybe the read was supposed first the other dude and then comeback to the other ones. Like i feel we can only guess.

Whatever the case is, i just dont like the scheme and i dont think its a fit for our personnel.

I wont deny however, that he likes to go deep. I have to wonder if that is also from Arians and the fact that is how we have ALWAYS come back to games and won. He needs a new OC/HC guy IMO, to work with him on this. Thats why i want so much a new regime.

Castonzo has looked much better recently?  Not sure what you're talking about here.  Castonzo has looked bad all year and he was awful in yesterday's game.  It looks like someone has replaced his cleats with rollerskates.  Bad coaching from a guy who is a supposed OL specialist + bad technique by the players + bad playcalling that doesn't take advantage of quick hitters + a QB that likes to hold onto the ball = an offensive line that is among the highest for sacks given up and QB hits.

I dont think he likes to hold to the ball. The scheme works like that IMO, he is supposed to hold untill routes develop.

    Because your brother thinks so?

Sorry,  you'll have to do better than that......

Put another way,  they're two of the most respected execs in the NFL.

Firing them is fan talk....   not the talk of people who understand the game....

who says my brother thnks so? I said i watch them because of my7 brother lol not because of him i think they need a new HC.

why do you think mccarthy is so good? just perception? You remember them being good and you instantly think he is a pretty good coach?

    You have GM problems?         Seriously?

And McCarthy?      Fans want him gone too?

    Wow......

If GB is ever dumb enough to get rid of them,   they'll be unemployed for about 15 minutes....    OK,   maybe 20!

Seriously,  they're two of the best in the game.      Not everyone is Belicheck...

my brother is a GB fan. They have good reasons to doubt on those 2 guys.

how much longer will luck be able to play with the hits he is taking? grigs has had five years to put a good line in front of luck and luck is still getting beat up. do we have time at this point in lucks career to wait for draft picks to develop, if they ever do ,before his prime years are gone? grigs has made the team worse every year with  his poor talent picking, grigs is wasting lucks career, he has got this team in a tight spot and as long he is gm we will have bad seasons

its not just Grigson and finding hte talent is also about the schemes we have used. I wont pretend to know what a coach knows etc, but it seems a lot of 7 drops / deep drops that wont help the OL. Also there isnt seem to be a whole lot of hot routes or something to help vs blitzes

With the way Castanzo has been playing, I'd think we'd be fine if Haeg had another off season at the LT position. I would not be upset or sweat much if they got a draft pick by trading Castanzo at the end of this season.

as much as i would like to dislike this post i agree. I dont know what happened to Castonzo, but he hasnt been playing well.

I think it's debatable who has been worse between the d-line and LBs, but to me it's the d-line. A lot of the LB issues are directly related to the underwhelming performance of the d-line. Now that Henry Anderson is back and Kendall Langford remembered how to play, I expect the line to be much improved, but the first 2 weeks they were putrid.

Remember, my original response was to someone who claimed the defensive line has easily been the best unit on the team, not just defensively. That's absolute nonsense.

kendal didnt remember i think its clear he was rushed from injury and he is getting back now.

while i do agree DL wasnt spectacular....the whole defensive unit had been crap cause of injuries(except LB, they dont have injures). I mean who played betterr, the banged up secondary that gave up a gazillion yards? the LBs who cant cover TE's or RB? I mean look at the TE stats vs us? They are like 15/16 for 180 yds and a TD or something like that.
