It wouldn't surprise me at all for Gruden to pick a QB. He has never been known to be patent at all for any QB. He has been looking for that Montana/Young type QB every since he was at San Francisco.

I’m curious as to why would Gruden pick a QB when his offense doesn’t have a true WR1 and other needs. Their TE leads the team in receiving yards and none of their receivers are even close to his total.

If you want a larger sample size of Jordan Love, here is a great video!

The first throw he made between two defenders is the type of throw that will make you a starting Quarterback in the NFL. The kid has a rocket arm as well.

It’s a pipe dream to think Jordan Love will fall out of the second round. Teams are going to look at the upside and talent no matter if he is ready to start or not. Will he go in the top 10? No! Will he go in the 11-19 range? It’s a strong possibly. I don’t think he goes lower than 19 in my opinion.

  3. Wide Receivers

1a. Robby Anderson (26) - Alternative if Ballard can't land Cooper. His touchdown production is a little down this year but I love the way this guy plays. I can see him getting a similar deal that Tyrell Williams got from the Raiders.

1b. Nelson Algholor (26) - Again, another alternative if Ballard can't land either Cooper or Anderson. He has worn out his welcome in Philly and I don't think they'll bring him back.  I don't know if its Wentz, Pederson, or whoever is not getting this guy the ball this season. His best years was when Frank was his offensive coordinator. With Frank, this guy can be close to a 1000 yard receiver.

    Defensive Tackles

1a. Chris Jones (25) - Easily the best Defensive Tackle in this free agent class. Ballard has to do everything he can to sign this guy.

1b. Jordan Phillips (27) - The Bills have one of the most underrated defensive units in the NFL. This guy is one of the reasons they're stout up front.

    Cornerbacks

1a. Byron Jones (27) - What would it take to get this guy? He's been a solid CB his entire career. Its a long shot though because the Cowboys can't afford to lose him given who else they have at CB. They might be desperate enough to tag him.

  4. It's too little of a sample size to be making a case on Johnson. Pascal has been really impressive this season. Colts fan wanted him cut for Cain.

Ballard should still be looking for receivers in free agency and in the draft.

Winston throws for 450 but 3 pick and Colts still lose.  Let's blame JB for this lost too lol...

Their no. 1 targeted WR is who, what's his name.  Did he even play last year.  Didn't see the game but how much pressure did they get on Winston.  Did the mix up the defensive coverage.  By the stats they didn't run the ball well.  Looks like a team and coaching lost to me but, I can see JB getting buried on this forum within the next

    30 min.

A true franchise Quarterback would've led his team to a game winning drive. That ball he threw to Jack was so far behind Jack that he needed two extra arms to catch it. Look at how many times Andrew lead us to game winning victories. Jacoby doesn't have the talent to do that.

Let us say we trade our pick No.35 from Redskins to Seahawks for their potential picks No.59 and No.61 and are picking at (say) No.50.

    So, we have picks No.18, No.50, No.59, No.61, and No. 82 on Day 1 and Day 2.

    This is my mock:

No.18 - Yetur Gross-Matos, EDGE, Penn State - fits the motor, size and athleticism Eberflus covets in his edge defenders, has experience playing inside as well. Plays with great motor and leverage, and sets the edge well too. Yes, I know - people will say we have Justin Houston, Jabaal Sheard, Turay, Tyquan Lewis that we have invested for the edge but tell that to the Giants' 2007 SB winning squad with Strahan, Tuck, Osi and JPP.

No.50 - Jordan Love, QB, Utah State, I think this pick needs no explanation. I do think he will last till this spot.

No.59 - Collin Johnson, WR, Texas - this guy is most likely a TE at the next level and will be a very good one. Evan Engram and George Kittle both weighed about 210 lbs in college before bulking up at the NFL level for playing TE.

No.61 - Prince Tega Wanogho, OT, Auburn - this guy has the talent of a left tackle, but I feel he will do better as a right tackle in the NFL

No.82 - Davon Hamilton, DT, Ohio State - he is often overlooked in the middle because of Chase Young. He holds his own pretty well. Because he is just a one year starter, he might drop to Day 2 and he would make a fine pick here.

Now I can get down with a draft like this. I did a mock before on this forum with Gross-Matos and I like Collin Johnson. I can see him as a Jimmy Graham type TE; when Jimmy Graham was with the Saints. Put Prince at Right Tackle and move Braden to his natural Guard position.

    LT: AC

    LG: Big Q

    C: Kellz

    RG: Braden

    RT: Prince

  7. Reminds me of when Colts fans wanted Roquan Smith over Maniac.

    Maniac:

    GP - 24

    Solo - 165

    Ast  - 80

    Total - 265

    Int - 4

    Sack - 12.0

    Roquan:

    GP - 27

    Solo - 154

    Ast - 66

    Total - 220

    Int - 2

    Sack - 7.0

  8. Me like many others on this forum, and Colts fans all over had high hopes for this team this season. First the news about Andrew, and now our playoff hopes rest at a 10% chance.

I look around at the rest of the AFC and it's a very competitive conference this year; so competitive that a loss this time of the season is brutal. This team is 2-4 against the Texans, Titans, Steelers, and Raiders. Teams who are in the playoff hunt. Asking a team to win out and having 4 other teams lose out who three of those teams play each other is asking for too much.

As far as Jacoby goes, the future is uncertain with him. The best case scenario for Jacoby is Ballard gives him another chance next season, say this season is a lost because of injuries, let him get fully healthy, draft sign some receivers, and get him some more weapons. Ballard should still draft a Quarterback and have him compete with Brissett in camp.

Hang in there Colts fans better days are coming!

Can anyone verify if this is correct or not?

edited: guess the upload process shrunk the pic so it's unreadable. Rotorworld lists Gordon's DOB as 1/1/1990, making him 29 years old?

I don't think that's accurate. Come on now, a 29 year old senior? lol. I just watched some tape on this guy. He has a great arm, great downfield vision, he can scramble out the pocket, quick and elusive. He looks more NFL ready than Jordan Love in my opinion.

  10. I'm going to defend Chris Ballard here. Looking at the free agent wide receivers list for 2019 there is only one having a solid season John Brown. Funchess was a gamble that hasn't worked out. I'm not going to bash Ballard for taking a gamble on Funchess. When you sign a free agent either it works out or it doesn't.

I would seriously take a look at signing Robby Anderson or Nelson Agholor this offseason. Amari Cooper is likely to get tagged and AJ Green is 33 hasn't seen the field this season. There is also the possibility of bringing back Funchess.

  11. You have to ask yourself this, does Ebron want to come back? He was on Twitter months back liking "to the Panthers" tweets from Panthers fans who want him to come to the Panthers. Also,  throwing Frank under the bus in the media for not giving him the ball.

Would take Wentz in a heart beat.

I would too, but injuries have always been a question with him. I'm starting to wonder if that torn ACL injury really messed up his career. He's not even close to the same Quarterback he was before he tore it in 2017.

Reich and Ballard love JB.  They will not trade up to get a QB and put JB on the bench.  The team loves him as well.  I do not think they would do that to him.  They might draft one in a later round to develop behind him though.  They are more likely to get JB another quality receiver.  They have the cap space and picks to trade for one and I can see them drafting one as well as most rookies will take a few years to develop.  Unless Luck gets itchy and comes out of retirement I think JB is our starter for the next few years at a minimum.  When you consider all of the circumstances surrounding the offense it certainly doesn't warrant a benching of the QB.  I think when they do their year end assessment that is what they are going to conclude.

Just because they love him doesn't mean they won't make a change if necessary. You can be in love with a player and make a change if needed.  I'm sure the Titans were in love with Marcus Mariota but they sat him for Ryan Tannehill because he wasn't getting the job done.

Carson Wentz is going through a similar situation in Philly. Some Philly fans want Wentz gone and others are saying he has no receivers to throw to.

  14. It won't matter if the most important position on the field isn't addressed. Either Jacoby starts playing better or find his replacement. I'm not saying Jacoby has to give us a 300 yard game every week. 260 yards and two to three touchdowns I'll be satisfied with that.

  15. There have been mixed feelings about Brissett on this Forum, on Twitter and on Facebook. Some say Jacoby doesn't have receivers to throw to he will turn it around, others say he's not the franchise Quarterback going forward. Me personally, I am 50/50 with Jacoby at this point. So what does Ballard do?

    1. Keep riding with Jacoby, hope he turns his play on the field around, and don't draft a Quarterback.

    2. Draft Jordan Love and wait until he develops. (This team is a win now team!)

    3. Trade two or three picks to a team to move up in the draft to get Burrow.

    4. Sign a free agent Quarterback for the short team and draft Jordan Love. (This move is highly unlikely because of the weak QB free agent class)

  16. Ballard needs to use one of those 2nd round draft picks on a Quarterback. The first three picks in my opinion should be DT, WR, and QB; that would fill three needs for this team. Jordan Love is special, the arm talent is there, the escapability out of the pocket, the accuracy, and the vision. He's just not ready to start yet and I know Frank and the coaching staff can groom him into a great Quarterback.

I read somewhere that Love would consider returning for his senior season at Utah State but I don't think that will happen. Maybe drafting a Quarterback will light a fire in Brissett who knows? I know I haven't been impressed seeing him under center. This isn't taking away from Jacoby as a person or his leadership abilities. Its his play when he steps onto the field.

Colts get Titans at home next week, Texans get the hoodie. I think there is a good chance we are tied for the division after next weekend.

Offensive line is still the BEST in the NFL.

Also the only glaring weakness on the roster right now is WR and perhaps a true shut down corner. We will get Funch back down the stretch. And T.Y will knock the rust off eventually.

This season is far from over.

Glowinski and Smith are huge liabilities on the right side of the offensive line in pass blocking. Smith should move back to his natural guard position and Ballard should be looking into signing or drafting a right tackle.
