With OL and DL being big on Ballard's board, could he surprise us all by taking a beast of a OT in Becton at LT? I bet Ballard would be salivating to possibly get a mauling LT for the future post Anthony Castonzo.

I'm thinking he won't go QB due to Love rising, and I don't see Ballard trading up for any QB outside of possibly Tu'a or obviously Burrow. And I don't think he's sold on Herbert as of yet.

So that tells me our 1st rounder will be either DT, OT, or WR.

If Ballard selects Becton at 13 he has to start right away. A top 15 pick is too high for a player to sit on the sidelines for a year or two until AC retires. That is one of the reasons why I would be against the pick.

  2. This mock draft isn't as unrealistic as you may think. The one thing that surprised me when reading it is no Jordan Love in the first. It's hard to imagine Love not getting drafted in the 1st especially if he has a solid combine next week. Ballard would be smiling from ear to ear if Love fell out of the first round. Ceedee Lamb is there at 13 would you take him? Ballard wants playmakers, and Lamb is exactly that. Lamb, and if Campbell, and TY can stay healthy is a great 3 man receiver punch.

Do you guys guys think with our running game this could be a option with the colts. Arians system did him no favors.

I would take him on a two year deal but nothing more. He seems to be a good guy. Has a beautiful fiancé and one year old baby. Seems his past is long gone. He would be fun.

Jameis could thrive in Frank's offense. The key word is COULD! I'm not against bringing Jameis in, I'm just super concern over the interceptions. Dude is a turnover machine. You said you'd rather have Jameis over Jacoby, I'd rather have Carr over Jameis and Jacoby. Carr could've easily had 33 touchdowns if not more than Jameis if he had receivers.

I could see Carolina going Simmons at 7 if he is there to help replace Kuechly at LB. Jacksonville is my biggest worry but hopefully like you said they will go OT or pass rusher to fill the void of losing Ngakoue. Darkhorse pick for Jax is K'Lavon Chaisson.

Call me crazy but, I could see the Giants drafting Isaiah Simmons. The great thing about Simmons he could play multiple positions on the defense very versatile player.

Brown will not fall to 13. This has a 0% a chance of happening.

Being a SEC guy, I've watched Derrick Brown just dominate every Saturday. He's a run stuffing machine and he can rush the Quarterback with ease. If it happens, I would be satisfied with this pick. The issue is, some mocks I've seen had the Panthers taking him at 7. The Panthers need playmakers on their defense especially with the retirement of Luke Kuechly.

The Jaguars are also a possibility at 9. Calais Campbell is getting older and need youth on their defensive line.

  5. The more tape I watch on Gordon the more I am impressed with his play. Its a proven fact, successful Quarterbacks have been drafted in the later rounds. Montana, Brady, and Unitas are examples of this. Also, there is no pressure for him right away, we would have Carr at QB.

I'm wondering how Ballard values this class of Quarterbacks and how he sees the Quarterbacks in this class not named Herbert, Tua, or Burrow. Love (turnover issues), Eason (work ethic questions and lack of leadership), Fromm (Doesn't wow you with plays doesn't have a strong arm).
