  1. So now Oakland and the bees are on equal footing with us, meaning we slide down to number 8. Hopefully they both continue/start to lose. This coming week against the thumbtacks will be huge. We need to clean up against them, the Jags, and the Bucs, and we’ll need to beat at least one of the other two (Saints, Panthers) imo

I seen Oakland lost 34-3, WTH??

I’m not all that surprised. Both the Jets and Oakland have been really up and down this year. Oakland looked great against us and the Bears, but looked bad against Houston, the Bengals, and NYJ. Such is the NFL

Anyone else notice this? At the beginning of the season, he was waived to make room elsewhere and ended up making it back on the PS.

Not sure if it’s Jacobys knee and the uncertainty of a potential re injury, the fact that we have space on the active roster due to injuries / depth, or there is a thought that if he was waived he may not make it back to the PS - which would imply that he is a piece the Colts don’t want to lose considering our current and future QB situation.

I’m not saying that Kelly is the next QB1 nor am I saying his presence on 53 man roster is implying that down the road. Just an interesting note on the roster management decisions being made by our front office and the insights that can be garnered from them.

I think it implies that JB is obviously our starter, and then Kelley is the backup. Obviously you don’t want Brian Hoyer vomiting the football all over the field again, so you keep him for a good veteran presence and Kelley as an actual backup. That’s my theory

He couldn't be much worse an option at QB2 than Hoyer. He could probably easily throw 4 interceptions in two games and for far less money.

I’d throw 4 INTs in one game for half the price of either of them

At Saints is probably a loss but then again we won at KC. The Colts are unpredictable right now. We have to win those 2 division games though to have any chance of winning the division IMO.

I’d love for us to make the playoffs even though I don’t think it will happen.

If we can’t make the playoffs, maybe God will at least give me the satisfaction of watching the deflaters, the cows, and the bumblebees get crushed the rest of the year. If I could erase three teams from all of sports I’d start with those three, right there with that abomination of a Cowboys ripoff.

I’m a little angry tonight, I’ve moved on to the next stage of grief in my Colts loss process

Assuming both IND and HOU win out their remaining AFCS games...it goes to common games (since h2h and divisional record is tied). Colts can tie that by running the table (assuming HOU wins out)...but they can’t catch HOU on the conference game tiebreaker.

This is assuming a lot...and there are games left that will decide it...but HOU can control their destiny.

Don’t worry, making large assumptions is what humans are good at

Colts get Titans at home next week, Texans get the hoodie. I think there is a good chance we are tied for the division after next weekend.

Offensive line is still the BEST in the NFL.

Also the only glaring weakness on the roster right now is WR and perhaps a true shut down corner. We will get Funch back down the stretch. And T.Y will knock the rust off eventually.

This season is far from over.

If we win next week and Houston loses, we would once again be in the lead in the South, as crazy as that sounds.

Hypothetically, let’s say we win and the cows lose

    In order of tiebreakers:

    1. Record- 7-5 v 7-5, next tiebreaker

    2. Head to Head- 1-1 v 1-1, next tiebreaker

    3. Division Record- 4-1 (I) v 3-1 (H)

Well hot damn, somehow we may escape this impending doom.

There’s my glimmer of hope for this season I’ve been searching for

More like down the field QB is needed.

This is what saddens me. I love JB, he’s an awesome guy, but he really needs to be a backup. He is a great backup, mediocre starter.

I’d give a heck of lot to draft Burrow next year, and have JB and Hoyer tutor him.

I don't see Houston beating Tennessee both games and I sure don't see them beating NE because of the head coaches alone.

I hope you’re right. We’ll need to sneak past the cows to get into the playoffs, so them losing at least once to the Titans would be fantastic. We just can’t do the same

I'm done worrying about this season. We're not going anywhere with this explosive passing attack of ours.

    Explosive as in implosive lol

Yes! I was excited to see Evansville knock off UK...for obvious reasons.  Lol Go Devils!

More like Go Purple Aces, but I’m glad you also enjoyed that game lol

  9. We got robbed there, but would we really have scored if we had gotten the ball? I kinda doubt it. I guess we’ll never know. There should be a 33 ranking in power rankings though, and the zebras should be there every week

They are in a tough spot...because both OAK and PIT both have the tiebreaker...and so does HOU for the divsion.

This now has a very 2015-2016 feel to it...as far as standings go.

I think 2015 might be the most painful year, because we did just poorly enough to not make the playoffs but just well enough to not get a high pick. Plus that was the year poor Andrew got the snot beat out of him.

Yeah...oh well at least I still have my Duke Blue Devils...they won big tonight and are currently ranked number one in the country. My poor Orioles are in pitiful shape.

IU football is doing well so I at least have that, plus IU basketball looks strong, and University of Evansville (my hometown) knocked off UK

Don’t even get me started on the Bengals or Reds :Gaah:

I hear you.  They can kill by suffocation or just straight heart attack.

Sometimes I really hate being a sports fan. I feel like it’s a lot of unnecessary stress for usually little reward. Oh well, first world problem I guess

Must win division to many conference losses for a wildcard

Agreed. Even if we were to win out though, we’d need Houston to drop at least two I think

    1 minute ago, Coltsman1788 said:

Don’t hold your breath on the Colts landing a wildcard spot.  They blew that pretty much by losing to Steelers, Dolphins and the Raiders at home.  When you blow easy games like that you have to do it the hard way and that was beating Houston and the rest of the division.  No margin for error and we continue to come up wanting.

I don’t hold my breath when it comes to anything with the Colts, they always leave me suffocating

Pray that the Raiders and Steelers forget how to play football

Steelers are already doing that, it’s the Raiders that really worry me. We really dug ourselves a nice little hole, and then covered it back up with us inside

when you have to start hoping other team win and lose to get into the playoffs your team does not need to be in the playoffs

Yeah well we got a dealt a crappy hand, so we gotta find a way to cope with it I guess. We won’t and shouldn’t be in the playoffs, but that small hope is keeping me from breaking something right now.

  16. So after...that...I thought I’d start a thread evaluating our paths to the playoffs.

The way I see it, are cow friends will probably only lose one more game, against the Pats.

That leaves us with wildcard. At most we can afford to lose one more game, and we’ll need the Raiders and Steelers to lose three more each.

    So this all really sucks.

    Thoughts?
