I mean, Pitt is kinda in a similar situation...

No, Pitt sucks. The only reason they’re still in it is because of the caliber of teams they’ve played and then teams like us and the Rams who fall asleep against them.

    Look at this:

    Losses

    Patriots

    Seahawks

    49ers

    Ravens

    Browns (who suck)

    Wins

    Bengals (c’mon)

Chargers (decimated by injuries and also suck)

    Dolphins (who suck)

Colts (We had Hoyer as QB and AV missed the game winner)

Rams (I’ll give them that one)

    Bengals (c’mon)

    Not exactly inspiring

  2. I’m going to disagree with most here and say signing Funchess wasn’t a bust. There is no conceivable way for literally anyone to predict injuries, unless they’re Nostradamus or something. The plate in his collarbone went bad, and so he’ll probably have to have surgery again. It’s just a horrible break for the Colts and for Funchess. It’s not like a draft pick that never plays well (cough Quincy Wilson cough)

If there is one positive to this, it’s that if Ballard wants to resign Funchess, it’ll be a heck of a lot cheaper than last time. Funchess will probably be asking for chump change next year when you consider his talent level. I’d personally like us to take a shot at him again.

The future is bright. If we draft a new QB and they sit a year we will be fine if ballard picks the right guy. Mahomes won MVP his first year starting. Lamar is 22 and on his way to a MVP in his  full  year starting. As long as Ballard doesn’t pick the wrong guy we will be just fine. I am more worried about losing Eberflus very soon.

I don’t think we’re really in that bad of a shape. Outside of QB and WR, when healthy we have a very good roster. Plus, Lamar looked like crap his first year. I and many people thought all he could do was run, but man he’s proven me wrong. At the end of the day, we can only sit back and watch, so my plan is to continue to do that.

Voorhees has a pretty specific m.o.  Manhattan, space, and vs freddy withstanding......

I dont think colts wins enter into his victim selection much.

If you can avoid being a horny teenage d@#chebag (possibly experimenting with grass) while at a rundown summercamp consisting solely of other horny teenage d-bags experimenting with grass, I think you'll be ok.......

I wouldn’t go out of my way to be on his list.

Although to be fair, have you seen some of those girls at those summer camps? If not for the threat of a machete to my head, I might bite lol

The Jets aren't in bad shape. Darnold is looking like a possible franchise QB, and they have a new GM in Joe Douglas that's probably an improvement over McCagnan to rebuild the team. They'll also have a high draft pick again, and they got Rex Hogan from the Colts as the new assistant GM. They are almost on our level. The Bengals are winless and a pretty low bar as an example.

I’m not using the Bengals as a comparative in that sense. I’m saying, look at the Bengals, it could be a heck of a lot worse. I think we around here don’t appreciate that we are a 6-5 team. No, we’re not 7-4, or 11-0, but we’re doing better than many other teams.

And if it’s that important, then replace “Jets” with “Redskins”

Before I get into this let me say I’m a big fan of Ballard and Reich, none of this will be bashing what they’ve done. It’s more what other organizations have done.

Looking at at our roster, it’s voided of players that can make plays at critical positions.

    QB-WR-TE-DE-DT-CB?

Thats a lot of areas that truly need improvement of this team, that will take multiple offseason’s to Acquire and develop. We lack talent that can take over a game or can stop another team from taking over a game.

Now here’s the scary truth. We lost our main difference maker at the start of the year with luck retiring. He was the one guy that gave us a chance every game. Watching these young QBs (Jackson, Mahomes, Watson, etc) makes we wonder how you expect to contend with these teams the next few years with the decencies this team has. We’re missing key areas on how to keep up with these teams and positions to stop them.

The last couple of games have really got me to pull my blue color shades off and realize just how much #12 meant to this team on both sides of the ball. He meant a lot to the coaching staff to as they actually trusted him. It may take a few years but there will be better days ahead for sure, just going take a little longer than we want to admit.

    Why is this scary?

Is Jason Voorhees gonna kill me if the Colts don’t do well?

We’ll figure it out, it will all be ok. Why does everyone here panic like the world is ending when we lose one game and some guys go out? At the end of the day, it’s football, not geopolitical trade wars.

If you really think we’re that screwed, I implore you to go take in a Jets or Bengals game. They are way farther up $hit creek than the Colts are

Although yes you’re right, Luck meant a lot more to this team than most people realize

Turay = on IR after 5 games, thus 11 games

Lewis = 3 games, although it's felt like more

Losing Turay really sucked. I really like him and he was starting to tear it up. Hope he comes back in a big way next year

Which is why he needs to move back to guard.

Smith would do well at guard I think. But who do we get to play tackle?

  8. For everybody panicking...

    It’s the Titans.

It’s not us vs the entire world.

It’s just us vs the Titans.

    Simple as that.

I remember us feeling the same way before the Chiefs game, and that one turned out ok.

And whether we win or lose, life will go on. The zombies won’t start rising if we lose.

    With that said...

    GO COLTS

    BEAT THE TITANS

    And Happy Thanksgiving

WR needs to be the top one or two priorities.

WR is not hard to hit in FA. You’ll have to fork over a good amount, but we likely won’t be splurging, since Ballard never does, so we would have enough to cover a WR. Also, you can find good WR in later rounds. TY is proof of that.

I think it's time to shut it down this season is over.  Too many injuries and adversity this year.  I will keep cheering each week but we would be better off with higher draft picks next year.

You don’t shut it down until you’re officially out of the race. You keep fighting until someone stops you from fighting. We’re still in this, with or without TY

For the record Kittle is a very good blocker. Also disagree With EE being a good blocker. That has been a knock on him since he has been in the league and the reason he has had limited snaps compared to Doyle when Doyle is health.

Oh sorry, I'm a little misinformed on Kittle and Ebron blocking I guess. All I've ever seen of Kittle is his amazing catches, I'm guessing they just don't use him for blocking all that much, maybe?

    Ravens looked unstoppable last night.

Colts qb play is literally light years behind.

Ravens 49ers SB rematch coming up. Even though I couldn't care less about either team, at least the deflators won't be in again lol

The only team at this point that hasn't been smacked by the 49ers is the Saints.

At this point, I'd rather them not sneak into the playoffs simply because some teams lost, just to watch them get crushed in the first playoff game.

As much as the Titans fans seem to hate us, I kinda like them. If anyone from our division had to get in other than us, I'd want it to be them.

Unfortunately, I don't think they would put up a good fight in the playoffs, but maybe I'm wrong

Edit: I just realized you're talking about us, sorry

With that defense they don’t need a Wilson or a Rogers.

Yes, but the Titans are playing to his strengths.   He's completing over 72% of his passes.  203 yards a game.  High TD% and a low INT %.

With the Titans play-calling, Ryan is noticeably better than Brissett.

I don't know, I'm just not all that scared of the Titans, at least not as much as the cows. Maybe they are legit, but I still have confidence in us to shut them down. We have to win Sunday to make the playoffs, and you can bet that our guys know that, so I think they'll show up. Even if the Titans are red hot, they still struggle in their own ways, and we can exploit them.

I’m not real sure about EE, his salary requests will be a large factor as he hasn’t produced well in 2019, be it his hands or his QB, he hasn’t lived up to a large enough for his ego contract imho.

the first I’d agree with and Funchess is a huge question mark too. Can you resign a guy who has been broken all season and getting huge money to boot? Idk what his worth would be and can JB showcase him if he comes back to warrant another big payday? Huge questions

I'd expect Funch to not ask for much. He hasn't played in a full game since 2018. His name is probably down the list around the league. The only way we couldn't sign him for even cheaper than last offseason is if he comes back and lights it up for us, which I wouldn't complain about.

I fully expect Ballard to resign AC and Doyle. I wouldn't be surprised if he resigns EE because of his blocking. Reich and Ballard like having EE not only for his flashy plays, but for his blocking. Heck, 60% of plays our TEs are used for blocking or rub routes, so they would rather have blocking TEs than a George Kittle.

Not to say that Ballard and Reich wouldn't love to have Kittle, but that's not their preferred style of TE

  16. In regards to the Titan’s drubbing of the Jags, we were in a similar situation before with them earlier this year. The Titans were cruising off of a manhandling of the Browns, and we contained them in Nashville. I’m confident in our guys to right the ship, especially since we’re at home. Go Colts!!!

I'm not sure JB is one you want working with QBs.

JB brings a lot to the table. You want every QB you can get to help a new young QB, they’re only going to help him with what they’re good at. I don’t think JB would be teaching a new QB how to read zone D if he can’t even do it in the first place, therefore he could teach him about escaping in the pocket and other stuff JB is good at.

Don’t know who pending FA are but maybe Ballard does a little more next year. Adding a couple more pieces could really put us over the top.

Keep in mind we’ll have to resign some guys which will eat away at some of that. I think Ballard will resign Doyle and Castonzo for sure, maybe Ebron and Funchess too. I can’t remember who else is up
