  1. I wonder what it would've taken to get Toby Gerhart from the Vikings? Solid RB, Stanford Connection etc.

    Wouldn't have taken a 1st Rounder.

I think just about anyone could have done the same job as Trent.

I dont hate the guy, I have just given up hope that he will pan out as a good pick up for the Colts. I was pretty excited when the Colts traded for him. I thought we got a real stud RB that we havent had for a long time. I even gave him the benefit of the doubt for 4-5 games, thinking he was still getting comfortable in the system. But he was here for almost the equivalent of a full season (14 games) and in the end its clear he is not as advertised.

  2. remember brown first round pick as well last 4 years he sucked  . people have  a very short memory. exp with  the colts

helps a lot  his 5 years in the nfl with  exp plus maturity. trent 2 second year in nfl semi-green . with Cleveland  start the season.

    Donald Brown stats:

Rookie year: 3.6yd/per average, long run of 45 yards

2nd year: 3.9yd/per average, long run of 49

3rd year: 4.8yd/per average, long run of 80

4th year: 3.9yd/per average, long run of 19

5th year: 5.3yd/per average, long run of 51

Brown was drafted at #27, TRich #3. You'd expect a #3 pick to put up better numbers than a career back up guy. Yet in Brown's worst year he still had a better per carry average than Trent, plus a long run of basically the same.

All Im and others are saying is Trent showed us no potential whatsoever. If there were flashes or glimpses Id give the guy the benefit of the doubt. But come on, he didnt literally nothing here with the Colts since the trade. Nothing. So why would I think he would miraculously come out next year and run like a beast?  I hope he proves me wrong, I really do. But I just dont think he will.

  3. I cannot believe how many ppl wash Trents balls on this board. The guy showed NOTHING whatsoever since hes been with the Colts. If he had the talent to cut it in this league he'd have given us a glimpse somewhere. In 14 games  his long run was 22 yards, a 2.9yr per average. Thats pathetic.

The guy was drafted #3 because the Alabama O-line was blowing open holes you and I could run through.

  4. I made this post somewhere else but it got buried.

The D didnt play as bad as the scoreboard suggested. With a minute and a half gone in the first quarter it was 7-0 based on the INT on the 3rd play.

It was 21-15 in the 3rd quarter, the Pats had a 3rd and 8 and got bailed out by a terrible PI call, giving them the ball at the 5. After the Pats scored and converted the 2pts, it was 29-15. The Colts promptly scored a TD, making it 29-22.

The D then forced (2) 3 and outs, but the offense put up a 3 and out of their own, then had a 5 play drive for a whopping 12yrds and a punt. After that was the Blount 73yrd TD and that was all she wrote.

So there is plenty of blame to go around to the whole team, offense included. Remember the 1st and goal at the 3 and couldnt score the TD? How about the offense punch the ball in and put 7 on the board to take a little pressure off the D.

  5. All the bashing on the D has me puzzled. The INT on the 3rd play of the game put the Pats on the 1 yard line. Its hard to blame the D on that on. The PI they called on the 3rd and 8 put the Pats on the 5 yard line, hard to blame the D on that TD. At that point the game was 21-15. Pats went for 2 and got it, made the score at 29-15. So of that 29pts the Pats had, 15 of it was a gimme from the INT and the crappy PI call.

Colts come back and score a TD, score 29-22. At that point the Colts D forced (2) 3 and outs. So what does the Colts offense do there? (1) 3 and out, and (1) series with 5 plays for a gain of 12yrds and a punt. The D just made 2 stops and the offense went out there and did NOTHING. And lest we all forget, the 1st and goal at the THREE yard line by the Colts and cant punch it in. Thats inexcusable.

After that was the 73 yard TD run by Blount, that pretty much sealed the deal. But to that point, at 29-22 the D in my opinion wasnt the problem.

edit - the D wasnt the entire problem like some here are making out.

  6. Funny observation:  I see a bunch of ppl ragging on the D, how bad they suck. I dont see the D playing bad. Dont look at the scoreboard, there is 29pts there but thats not showing the true store. The Colts gave the Pats 7pts with 13:30 left in the 1st quarter on the INT by Luck. IMO the last Pats TD cant be blamed on the D either, refs bailed the Pats out with a PI at the 5yrd line. So essentially the D is only responsible for 15pts IMO.

  7. I would say:

Now, let's analyze what's been working for us. NOT A * THING'S been working for us. Like this darn suit doesn't work for me... and this stinking tie... and this darned shirt. IT DOESN'T WORK FOR ME. YOU KNOW HOW TO PLAY WINNING HARD-NOSED FOOTBALL? YOU PLAY FOOTBALL LIKE ED GENERRO PLAYED FOOTBALL. A guy who gave his life for this football team. He was a 140-pound halfback, and HE PLAYED LIKE A darn WILDMAN! NO! LIKE A darn RAMPAGING BEAST! And that's the way you got to do it! YOU GO OUT THERE! YOU TEAR THEIR $%#*ing HEADS OFF, AND YOU $h1t DOWN THEIR NECKS! Let us pray.

Its funnier to see it than read it:

  8. I dont even agree that the 4th and 1 keeper was a called play, unless they have said otherwise. I believe he kept the ball and ran but was suppose to hand off.

Manning had a few runs where he was suppose to hand off and just didnt and bootlegged around the end. Has the coaching staff said that play with Luck was in fact a designed qb keeper?

  9. Well.....

If Andrew Luck is really "not allowed to run"  then he must be the most disobedient player on the team.

Because the official team stats show he's run the ball 63 times for 377 yards.   That's 6.0 average.    He's got a long of 29 yards and 4 TD's.

Not allowed to run?!?       Damn!     He's going to get fined!!

Again, its not a matter of "not allowed to run", its they arent calling plays designed for him to run as the play.

  10. You guys in favor of designed run plays really want to him in the open field with the chance to get blasted like Vick or RG3 have? Nuts. Dumb. Stupid. In a scramble, looking for a 1st down, when he cant find a receiver, yes, Im all for him trying to get a first down and then sliding. But I dont want designed plays for him to run.

  11. Besides the issue of dropping too many balls (which obviously is important for a return guy), why dont they use him as a kick returner? If nothing else, take the Forrest Gump approach. Have someone catch the ball for him, hand off to him, and say RUN.
