Put Orlovsky in.
The worst that happens is they lose again...which at this point they're guaranteed anyways with the bang up job Painter's been doing.
But the upside is they finally win one.
-
Why should Painter care about playing better? Being pulled with less than 10 minutes in the whole game isn't going to light anything under his rear end. As long as he's nice and secure and safe in knowing he's the starter the rest of year, nothing is going to light a fire under his rear end to step his game up.
-
Good, old reliable Curtis showed up today
-
Oh yes, because 2 and 27 is always just so much easier than 2 and 10.
Good word, Jags handed you guys a gift with that facemask penalty and you still find a way to screw it up.
-
Even seeing 2 defenders where Reggie is, Painter still makes the decision to throw it right there. Is it any wonder why the Receivers can't catch jack squat Painter throws? He stares them down and by the time he throws, defenders know exactly where to go.
-
Now we know the Colts are really sucking this year...they aren't even good enough to warrant another SNF game.
-
With the Colts having no shot at all of making it to the Superbowl, let alone even winning it this year...I really wouldn't mind seeing Eli hoisting that trophy up. Just to see at least one Manning holding it up in LOS.
-
A bright note to end another sucky day of the Colts losing.
Next to Peyton, Eli is my favorite QB. I'm so glad the Giants won today. I wish my Fox channel had shown this one instead of the Packers/Chargers game though.
-
I don't know about thoughts on the game because I didn't see it. But I do know their fans are not going to be happy with them winning.
-
Peyton looks like his patience is running out not only for the O-line, but Painter as well.
-
They might as well stick Orlovsky in, it's not like the could blow their lead or anything at this point.
-
What did Peyton say? I missed it.
-
Painter may be spreading the ball around, but the problem is, he stares one guy down and most of the time the defenses know where to go because of it.
-
How come all of the guys they get rid of in the secondary go off and play well for other teams, yet they keep the scrubs around?
The real scrubs on this team are the coaches.
It's not that they're keeping the scrubs, it's just the guys they release are being picked up by teams with better Defensive coaches.
Freeney and Mathis deserve better Defensive coaches then what they have.
-
Not even half-time and Peyton already looks like there is absolutely nothing he can even do for them on the sidelines.
-
Is it just me or does anyone else find it laughable the amount of excuses the announcers seem to have for Painter and his lousy playing?
-
The thing that upsets me with Painter is by the time he's comfortable finally and in synch with the receivers it's too late for them to come back. After all this time playing, starting, practicing, and taking reps with the first team he should not be taking 2 or 3 quarters to get comfortable.
This kid isn't even a decent back up QB.
-
Once again, Painter spends an entire drive only focused on one player and one player only when he's about to throw the ball.
Either they're not teaching him to look for other players or this kid just can't get into his head there is more than one player to throw to.
-
Simple answer...AGE. Players don't get better with age, they don't even stay at the same high level. Plus depending on how the draft works out we could have a better younger version on the team.
Ah, so that's what it's about.
And they could also have the next Ryan Leaf on their team. What I want is for some other team to draft him, and they play the Colts, and then Peyton just torches that kid on the field. That's what I want.
-
He gets sacked by that time because he focuses on one receiver and one receiver only. He stands there waiting to see if that receiver is going to be open. And half the time he'll throw regardless if that receiver is open or if he's got 2 defenders hanging on him.
He's darn lucky he hasn't be intercepted more than what he has.
-
Why? He will be old and at some point we need to move on. He gave us a great decade of football, but his time is winding down, I am okay with him for another season or two, but I don't want to see him out there at 38 or 39 or 40 years old in a Colt uniform.
Because if he gets a clean bill of health, is every bit as good then he is the best choice to get this team back on the winning side.
And how do you know his time is winding down? He may still be the same Peyton two years from now...even three years from now. Why should the Colts trade off the only man who is their only shot at any kind of winning record?
-
Yes Peyton may play for 4-5 or 6 more years...I just hope it's not in a Colt uniform...
I do hope it's in a Colts uniform. I don't want to see him going to another team.
-
There we go, he's finally good for something.
They ought to switch Painter to RB and put in another QB.
-
Maybe if he had to fight for his job he'd play better. When they were talking about bringing in another QB before pre-season was over with this year, that seemed to light a fire under his butt. But with Polian saying Painter's the starter the remainder of the season, he's back to good, 'ole reliable Curtis.
It's like he really doesn't care how he plays because he knows his job as starter is secure. Some of the actual rookie QB's are playing better than him, and he's been in this league 3 years longer then they have.
Why Our Only Chance Is The Panthers

If we couldn't even beat the Jags there's no hope to beat the Panthers. I look for Cam Newton to have one of the games of his season against us.
