Pretty sure Irsay may have put feelers out on at least Sean Payton--and maybe even Gruden last offseason. So this maneuvering wouldn't be unprecedented.
-
Wade Phillips was also apparently in Houston:
-
It would be a tough call, but in recent history, I think Marvin Harrison, Dwight Freeney, Bob Sanders, or Tarik Glenn could all make a lot of sense.
-
If we hire a new head coach, I'd like to see it be an offensive minded coach who can continue to help Luck improve his mechanics and get rid of the football faster.
-
I don't see it. Not at least for another season.
-
I hate the playcall. Screens either work really well or really poorly. Why take the chance when you just need a yard?
-
It's a combination of factors. Luck personally, receivers not getting open, and play calling that too often emphasizes deep throws.
-
The talent of the roster simply isn't good and our coach isn't a game-changer by any means.
We have Luck, Hilton, Gore is solid when we use him, and 3 of our starting offensive lineman are good most games, but the other 2 stink. Meanwhile, our other receivers can't get open.
Defensively, we're old and slow with no pass rush and there's no star players on that side of the football besides maybe Vontae when he's going well--but there's only so many ways a cornerback can impact the game defensively. It's not like a Von Miller or Luke Kuechly.
-
Should've just ran whatever side of the defensive line Wilfork wasn't lined up at.
-
I'd like to keep Gore around. If we cut him, I'm guessing he'll sign with a contender.
Let him mentor a younger running back for a season and split some of the workload.

I'd just platoon Green and Butler at safety. Green is better against the run, and given how awful Osweiler is, I'm expecting we'll see quite a bit of Lamar Miller.
-
I think he can be really good in time. Both McGill and him are some of the best pass rushing interior defensive lineman we've had in quite a while.

I would put AJ Green (when healthy) and Mike Evans ahead of him as well, but I honestly can't think of anyone else. He's stepped up a lot for sure. We're lucky to have him.
Good call on A.J. Green. I think one could easily argue Evans--but I think Hilton's had a little longer body of work (at least for me), although there's no question that Evans is a physical monster.
Maybe Hopkins if he had a better quarterback?
-
I think Hilton's playing like a Top 5 WR right now. I'd safely take Brown, Julio, Beckham ahead of him, but I think he's right below that tier recently.
-
2nd in receiving yards only to Antonio Brown. On a pace for potential career highs.
"However, Hilton has the 5th most first downs among all wide receivers this season.
The only wide receivers ahead of him are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Mike Evans (6’5″, 231 pounds), the Atlanta Falcons Julio Jones (6’3″, 220 pounds), the Pittsburgh Steelers Antonio Brown (again, the best wide receiver in football), and the Arizona Cardinals Larry Fitzgerald (6’3″, 218 pounds).
Besides Brown, Hilton has been performing at an ‘elite level of possession wideout’ of players that are at least 4 inches taller and roughly 40 pounds heavier."

No real surprises except for Robinson.

It normally takes at least a full year for a player to fully look like the player they were before with an ACL tear. Honestly, if we didn't already lose Kendall Langford, could've seen the Colts simply shutting down Anderson for the year--he hasn't really made much of an impact this year even though he hasn't been bad.
-
I think he's at least above average for the position right now and in a few years could very well be a Top 5 center in football. Sure, we could've taken Whitehair (hindsight is 20/20), but he was far less of a guarantee than Kelly, and we really couldn't afford to purely whiff on the offensive line anymore.

Awesome.
NFL Network just flashed a stat - Chuck is 1-7 in his last 8 primetime games - meaning games not played against chumps or the AFC South .
I'm fairly certain the Manning/Dungy/Polian era Colts faired slightly better in primetime .
Aside from playing the Patriots, seemed like Manning's Colts always dominated teams in primetime.

I can understand waiting as long as possible to see the independent neurologist (because it gives extra time to recover), but it does seem odd that Luck apparently was evaluated today and still nothing.
-
This is a must win game. No question.
-
Yeah, my initial thought is that he's being too hard on his players or an ego thing.
-
Sounds like there's a good chance Robert Mathis misses this week and Cole is his replacement. Not a bad replacement all things considered for this time of year.
-
He's serviceable against the run and is so-so as a pass rusher now, but I don't think he's going to make much of a difference to our pass rush woes.
Not so kind words about Grigson from a former Eagles co-worker

There's a lot that can be said on Grigson, but what a failed scout said about his former boss? I don't put too much stock into it, seems like there might be some sour grapes spilling over.
