  1. I think there's some truth to it. Grigson's job is to cut players at time, so he's not going to be liked that the way a head coach should. However, I'm guessing it was more his attitude that eventually did him in.

There's also some truth that Pagano maybe doesn't hold his players accountable enough and doesn't perform enough discipline when they act out of line.

  2. Polian was allowed to be a jerk, because until he shared control with his son, his track record was awesome in the draft and we won a lot of games.

As for McAfee, I'm guessing since he was on special teams--units that are normally filled by a lot of fringe, roster bubble players, that he saw a lot of his teammates firsthand mistreated by Grigson.

I doubt Luck or Hilton and guys like that got much attitude or poor treatment though.

  3. You can question how Irsay went about it, but at least he tried to improve the team. To me, it would've been worse had Irsay sat there and done nothing this offseason. To me, that's not a 'clown show', but an owner actually trying to improve his team and win.

  4. The sad thing is that Irving wasn't signed by any team last season, and I think Sio Moore was claimed by the Chiefs only to be waived late in the season. It speaks to how poor the Colts inside linebacker position was to enter the season that their two frontrunners for the starting job couldn't find stable jobs with other teams.

  5. I wouldn't be excited about signing Mike Shanahan (plus it would cost a bunch of money and we'd be better off using that to attract a defensive coordinator). Now Kyle Shanahan? Absolutely.

I feel like Irsay is directly responsible for this now raging dumpster fire...

If the rumors are true, did Irsay come up with this plan during the week 17 game against Jacksonville? Conversations with Jon & Peyton could have begun months ago. To begin a clandestine search for a GM or Coach in this manner, at this moment in time, leaving the F/O, fan base & media in this run amok speculation spiral, IMO, is poor stewardship of the franchise.

If the rumors are not true, allowing this calamity to persist in this way, is just as poor stewardship of the franchise.

Conversations with Peyton may have occurred as early as November for the Super Bowl XLI reunion. Seems like a lot of people are just speculating when and where things occurred when we really don't have that much details besides the fact that talks occurred--with the only pinpoint meeting being last weekend in Houston.

So was grudens success yet everyone was jumping for joy over the possibility for him.

There are a lot of people who would be happy if we got rid of Chuckles and Grigson for Ryan Leaf at GM and JaMarcus Russell at HC.

Also we could still be in the running for Kyle but we can't really do anything while he's still coaching for Atlanta. Maybe when the Falcons are done he will get the call from irsay.  At this point we simply don't know.

I think because Gruden's career didn't end on such a sour note, and he also had success with two teams as opposed to Shanahan--whose Broncos team was loaded with talent initially. I also think that it was reported that Shanahan interviewed with the Broncos last week, so there's still a little that could be done now--although that window may be closing the further along the Falcons advance until their season's end.

  8. Reggie Wayne really didn't take off until the 3rd year of his career. I'm not saying Dorsett is a future Hall of Famer like #87 (should be), but at the same time, it normally takes wide receivers a few years.

  9. Luck no doubt gets hit too much in the pocket, but he was scrambling out of the pocket and was running the football when the lacerated kidney occurred when he should've slid. Tony Romo has been knocked out for consecutive seasons behind the best offensive line in football--so let's not take this blame game too far.

The Colts offensive line needs to improve no doubt, but injuries can still happen at any time.
