  1. peyton played pretty good today just the one bad throw where he over threw the reciever for the INT. The tipped one was unlucky and it seemed like he threw the ball with great touch. Decker and Tamme both dropped good passes and his deep ball looked well thrown, Thomas just couldn't get a step on the cb and kinda got cut off from the ball.

  2. Nobody is trying to discredit him just critiquing. It's what message boards are for, right?

RG3 is all hugs and kiss's now... and he seems to love attention. No biggie, until he is winless and has more Int's than TD's.

Reality is very close to setting in for BOTH lads.

I simply get the impression that Luck is all about "football" and RG3 is all about "Publicity"... Could very well be wrong but a guy who was a "projected" WR last season in the NFL and is all of a sudden the next Montana..... eeeeeeee I smell the ESPN hype machine at work.

This whole thread was started to just take another shot at RG3 and a horrible one at that. This quote "The more I read and hear...I'm thrilled we're getting Luck". The only thing this article stated was that he went to a girls baylor basketball game to support his school and made in ad for adidas because they signed him. If this is the case then Peyton Manning is the biggest Diva in NFL history.

  3. If you put Fleener with a good QB like Gronkowski haves, he will easily put up 12-15 Td's. I don't really know how a team will stop him, he will run away from Lb's and safetys. If you try to put a CB on him he is so much bigger that you can just throw it up to him and he will come down with it 9/10 times. I bet he will be picked somewhere between the 15th-25th pick, possibly by a team that a TE is not really a big need.

  4. All I have to say on the Luck vs RG3 workout debate is ....

    WATCH THEM BOTH...

Luck was very impressive... RG3 has a strong arm and as his pro day revealed.. a very good receiving corp.

Luck is simply a better player.

lol, i think almost any college recieving corp. would look good in a scripted pro day.

  5. well Lucks dismissed the argument that he didnt have a strong arm with his 70+ yard bomb that was right on the money, which unfortunately was dropped

This is just my opinion but i think most QB's in the NFl can rainbow a 70 yard pass. I gage arm strngth more on how fast a ball can get to that point.

  6. He's a spread QB. Don't have time to wait on him to develop into what Andrew Luck was doing 2 years ago. When you've got Kendall Wright, and can just chuck it down the field against the scary Big 12 defenses...that makes a big difference in your stats. He won't have those luxuries in the NFL. Just like Luck will have to learn how to play behind a less awesome O-line. But I think Luck will be more successful. He's a great fit for the Colts.

I was kinda joking with you guys but the truth always seems to be some where in the middle of what all the Luck homers and RG3 homers think. Trying to make it sound like RG3 can't go through progessions is rediculous but of course he can still improve on it like every other QB in college football.

  7. yup. It really is a no-brainer. RG3 wasn't in anyone's conversation until this year, has a history of concussions and an ACL injury, and takes off running if his first read isn't open. He's not ideal for the Colts.

If RG3 can complete 72% of his passes without going through his progressions and locking on to one reciever, then sign me up for him!! Imagine what his completion percentage would be if he actually learned how to do that!! lol

    40 yd dash official times: RG3 = 4.41 Luck = 4.67

    Vertical leap: RG3 = 39" Luck = 36"

    Broad Jump : RG3 = 10'0" Luck = 10'4"

    Elusiveness tests:

3 Cone drill: RG3 placed out of the top 10. Luck placed in the top 5

20 yd shuttle" RG3 placed out of the top 10. Luck placed in the top 5.

RG3's broad jump was kind of weird, he seemed to use it more as a high jump. On the other hand, congrats to Luck for the great jump.

  9. Luck had a near perfect game, and Kendall Wright is 100000000x better than anything Luck ever had. That doesn't really make any sense. And teams always recruit more than one top QB, I think Florida State has 2 #1 overall QBs from the last 2 classes. It's really not uncommon at all.

Heck, Cam Newton was Tebow's backup at Florida.

Kendall Wright may have been better then what Luck had at WR but in every other position Luck had superior talent around him. I would much rather have Lucks whole supporting cast then RG3s.

  10. This

Also, it doesn't mean that the best player in college isn't necessarily the best prospect. Look at the scheme most of these guys played in. Though, in fairness, Leinart and Smith played in relatively pro style systems.

Regardless, scouts clearly don't care about Heisman credentials, based on the number of those listed falling to later rounds or not at all. That, to me, says that RGIII is legit. The Heisman is not some kind of curse or something. It's an award given to the best player in college, Just because they don't always translate to the NFL doesn't mean one can't, and certainly doesn't make one more susceptible to failing.

    100% agree
