  1. How do you do that and get Nicks involved, like you suggested in another thread?

Help me Superman, I don't ever remember writing Nicks name in a post, but then on the other hand I am 60 so it could be that I've started some so of mental decline that I'm not yet aware of. What color do the Colts wear again?

  2. Well Frank, let's not get carried away.  The Texans D is good and Watt is the best defensive player in the NFL but I really don't think the Colts need to dedicate 8 to blocking their front 4 or 5.

Additionally, I can tell you don't watch the running backs block very often if you'd prefer Bradshaw to stay in and block over Richardson.  Richardson is a much better blocker, like Shipley vs Satele better.

Actually, one of his years in N.Y. Bradshaw was the top rated pass protector at the RB position in the NFL.

  3. I be frank, I would keep extra protection for Luck all night with the TE's staying in to block off a variety looks, and Bradshaw (preferred) or Trent staying in to protect, because I think that the Texans can be beaten by our better receivers even off 3 man patterns (with good play calling). I'd also consider rolling the pocket like they did against the Ravens (away from Watt's side).

  4. The best way to win this game and all the rest of our games going forward is to make the other team defend "the problem" (Andrew Luck for those of you with an "untrained" eye for these things) on EVERY single offensive play. The truth is Seattle is effective with Wilson because they make a defense commit resources (and sometimes a lot of resources) to Wilson on every single play, even the most routine handoff or obvious running play call (by down and distance). Teams are never sure if Wilson will keep the ball.

Also, Another way to win all our games would be to sign and draft 52 more "problem" players like Andrew.

  5. read the funniest thing on texans forum the thread was created with this

After a very tough fought loss to the Cowboys in Dallas, the Texans will come home and dominate a weak Colts team.

No Running game. No offensive line. Luck is easily rattled when his hurried. Their defense is suspiciuosly weak.

I can't see anything but a dominating win here at home by our Texans.

Let's go get win number 4!

    Texans 34

    Colts 10

like wow come on i no the person is a homer but really think they gonna dominate us like that lol

he/she has 2 more days to revel in that unrealistic fantasy......i'm surprised he/she didn't add and that Reggie Wayne is soooooo slow and over the hill.

  6. I'll definitely be going back to rewatch the game (probably a couple of times :D ), but based on memory and the tendencies of the Colts since Pagano has been here, I'm thinking there's a good chance that play was on the weakside ILB, not Werner.  Typically when the DE (in a 4 man front) or OLB (in base front) charges upfield, it's the job of the ILB on that side to slide over and play the edge.

You very well may be right, Werner may have had no responsibility to cover and was strictly a rush LB on the play but as the play unfolded Flacco was retreating so heavily at some point the rusher's alarm should go off because the QB is no longer in the posture or position to throw the long ball so he should turn and pursue. Actually if that's right I'm sure Robert has already told him and Werner always keeps flashing such potential that it's probably a matter of experience.

  7. As good as Werner was yesterday he still makes some extremely bonehead plays, like on Forsett's 28 yard gain around Werner's edge when the Ravens are backed way up by penalty and I'm yelling at my TV prior to snap...draw, screen, flat pass, and Werner charges on the snap way up field and they dump to Forsett....nobody in the flat, man ya gotta see that coming, he has to read and react to down and distance better.

  8. What does next man up mean? Is it a slogan that the team uses when it's time to "whistle past the graveyard" cause the team has no choice but to play the backup? If the coaches preach daily prepare because you can be the next man up at any time, then at a next man up opportunity they pass over the second string player what does that say to the player? (coaches are not serious don't really mean it, it's a platitude) Last I would say, it's 4 games, make it work with Brown.
