  1. Maybe I shouldn't be intruding on your debate, but I'd like to add too that Martin:

    - Had the better O-line, especially on the interior part of the O-line.

    - Had a passing game with a deep vertical threat

    - Was healthier over the season than T-Rich

    - Didn't have guys stack the box against him.

Those are 4 pretty big advantages that T-Rich did not have last year. Just throwing that bone out there. The last thing i want to do is get into this argument.

Shh, Andy youre making too much sense.

I already mentioned all of those things to him, and he chooses to ignore them because the "stats" dont back up that claim.

  2. I agree. I think Richardson is good and will be good but I Aldo think Martin is a great player who came out and proved something lastcyear. I watch the game of football alot with sundaycticket... production>"potential"/stats. I'd say lucky had a beyyer year production wise and stat wise than rg3 as he is a qb who's main job is to throw and win.

Going by your argument, RG III had the better production and stat wise since he protected the ball better, ran for lot of yards...which helped his running back. You think Morris gets anywhere close 1600 yds if he didnt have RG III back there?

You, and most of us Colts fan, agree Luck was better because of the eye ball test. He did more with less, he had a terrible o-line, rookie receivers besides Reggie.

Sounds familiar, kind of like Trent?

  3. those 2 guys that still have jobs also don't have near the injury history that Nevis does.  RJF and Ricardo both played all 16 games last year whereas Nevis finished the last 2 years on IR and has only played in 14 games over 2 years.  I think that was a huge factor in making the decision.

There you go, you answered your own question.

Sometimes the best ability, is availability.

  4. only 900 yards is the rookie record? Not very impressive, and just because you break a rookie record doesn't mean you're going to be better than Jim brown. In fact im pretty sure if ballard started 15 games and got all the carries like RIchardson he probably would have broken 900 yards even with this * oline.

Its the Cleveland Browns rookie record.

All Im saying is that you cant judge a player purely based on stats.

As Dustin has stated, watching the game helps quite a bit.

There is a reason so many Browns fans are completely p*****.

If youre going to base it purely on stats, you might as well say RG III was better than Luck last year.

  5. Ricardo isn't better, he's just healthier.  and as an UT in a 4 man front I'm not sure RJF is better either.

At the end of the day, those two have a job and Nevis has been released twice within a month.

Maybe the fans really dont know what theyre talking about.

  6. He is a better receiver because he accrues more yards through the air than Richardson, very simple logic actually. How can you say any of those things when you don't study the Browns, and the fact that Martin was a much better runner in 2012? Richardson has the best tackle on his team, and one of the best centers on his line as well. Quite frankly he under-performed. But i have high hopes for him and expectations as a colts fan.

EDIT: Hes also better at getting first downs, less fumbles in more carries even, and much better at breaking the long run. Richardson's longest run was like 30 yards.

I can give you the center a bit but how does having the best pass blocking left tackle help Richardson as a running back?

You do realize he broke the rookie rush record of Jim Brown in Cleveland.

  7. i usually completely agree with you but honestly man/mam(?) you have to give credit where credit is due. Sure you can use the stacked box excuse all you want but production in this case should win out in both cases for Morris and Muscle hamster(martin). Give credit where credit is due. How about we just say that all 3 are speciall talents/

This isnt about just numbers but their situations.

Morris had RG III and a fairly good interior line of the Redskins.

Doug Martin has arguable the best interior guard in the game in Carl Nicks.

While Cleveland has all pro tackle and center, their guards are mediocre at best. The QB was Brandon freaking Weeden, and no option at the receiver position besides a inconsistent Josh Gordon.

Numbers do not tell the entire story, Richardson in Washington or Tampa Bay is easily a 1500 yards, 12-15 TDs, 4.5 yd per carry guy.

  8. Bradshaw is old and the Browns couldn't win with Trent Richardson. On top of that , Richardson needs to learn the offense. 49ers still win, but like the trade.

Bradshaw is 27, ran over the San Fran defense last year. Browns are STILL a terrible team, dont know what the Browns have to do with the Colts ability/inability to beat the Niners.

Trent Richardson will more than likely be a better player as a Colt than he was as a Brown.

  9. No, we are not nearly as disciplined on defense as we need to be. Luck is also to inconsistent

Dont you think we wouldnt need Luck to bail us out as much if he had a pro bowl running back?

Hed see a lot more man coverage, hed rip the defense into shreds. If they go zone, T-Rich eats them alive.

  10. and last year.

we partially bailed them out of a bad pick.

The guy was over 1000 yards rushing and had total 11 TDs with that terrible run blocking o-line of the Browns. Constantly hed see a defender at the line of scrimmage because he was stacked 8 against the box, and we "bailed out" Cleveland of a bad pick?

I swear, some of the people on this forum should apply for management at the Colts headquarters.

Itd be fun to see how quickly theyd get laughed at the application to be ripped an torn into shreds.

  11. I know, I know, ifs and buts, coulda woulda shoulda's.

However, IF our team was fully healthy at the positions and the players we just lost such as Ballard, Thomas, and Allen, and with the addition of Trent Richardson, would we championship contenders?

Obviously the Richardson trade doesnt happen if Ballard doesnt get injured, but lets just say it still does. Completely hypothetical, all of this...but just for fun.

  12. I think we all hope we can pull a win out, and if the game was in Indy the chances would definitely be there.

However, the game is NOT being played in Indianapolis, its being played in San Francisco. The Niners just got their a$$ handed to them by the Seahawks and Im sure they cant wait to get their hands on the Colts.

Everything that happened in Week 1 and 2 goes out the window, two hungry teams coming off emotional losses meet. We have been Lucky, pun intended, many times last year. In this game, the Colts will need more than luck, no pun intended.

We are nowhere nearly as talented as the Niners are, and Pagano is nowhere close to Harbaugh, yet.

This game has all the making of the Patriots and Colts game last year. We hang around for a quarter or so, and then Niners start rolling.

If only it was in Indianapolis! One thing I am glad for is that the Seahawks game isnt in Seattle, phew.

  13. Anybody see what Jeff Saturday's comments were on ESPN this morning?  He said, "its his(Irsay) team and he can do what he wants, he also said that "its his franchise, not just for this year."  Saturday also went on to say "Mr. Irsay isn't saying anything that the coaches, public and even the players don't already know."

Haven't most people now realized that when Irsay tweets his reactions (not trivia giveaways) he doesn't have his owners cap on.  He's got his fan cap on.  Truly that man bleeds blue.  This team is his life and livelihood.  The better his team does, the more money he makes and better legacy he leaves.  Everyone talks about Peyton and only winning one superbowl but Irsay has a bittersweet taste in his mouth over the past decade for the exact same reason.  I know as an owner its different than being a player but sb's bring profits,  Then, the football gods grace him with another possible superbowl winning franchise quarterback. He wants to protect his franchise, and that starts with better play

Shh, stop making so much sense
