Remember Tarik Glenn?  We could count on him for at least one false-start penalty per game.  But he made up for it by protecting the blind-side of Peyton.  If Castanzo does the same for Andrew, we should be fine.  Plus, those extra 5 yards just ended up padding the stats for Manning.  "What is it?  1st and 15?  Ok, looks like we're passing the ball to Marvin, Reggie, and Dallas until we get a TD..."

If Castanzo puts us in 1st and 15 or 1st and 20, but then protects Andrews blind-side so he can hit TY for a 40-yd TD on 2nd or 3rd down, I'm Ok with that.  Protecting Luck is more important than getting to 3rd and short.  I trust Luck to convert 3rd and 12, Tolzien with 3rd and 2 makes me nervous.

The OLine holding or getting a false-start is like a defensive PI penalty that prevented a TD.  Yeah, they get the ball on the 1, but they didn't get points.  Yeah, now Luck is looking at 1st and 15 or 1st and 20, but he didn't get leveled by a DLineman because our OLinemen were afraid of a penalty.  I'd rather have a healthy Luck looking at 1st and long all the time than have Tolzien with 3rd and 2...

The past few years I've noticed a lot of penalties coming from the o line now I understand Andrews had like 40+ different o line combinations but costanzo was always the left tackle. He should be the cleanest and best o lineman we currently have but it feels like our best linemen atm could be up for grabs between ac Kelly and mewhort. But I guess we'll see

  2. I think if Costanzo, our veteran presence at O line, doesn't improve his game and cut down on his penalties then that could be the ultimate fail for this team. We need huge years out of costanzo for the foreseeable future.

  3. Maybe you should try and use a bill b type of mindset and just take it week by week and day by day. Not try to guess and make assumptions without ever even seeing him play 1 nfl down

  4. like I needed any more reason to think Peyton was the actual GOAT. If only our front office and defense had even half the same drive and football smarts as him we would have had so much success. But i'll never be mad about that Lombardi we hoisted in 2006 that was a special one.

Look, I understand we disagree here & that's perfectly fine CC1. However, you don't plant that seed in either Pagano's head or the fans head before the regular season has even started yet. I don't like built in excuses before 1 meaningful down has even been played yet in a regular season game.

It creates the impression that failure is acceptable simply because INDY has a new GM & new LBs & a secondary in flux or at least being pinned down as a starting lineup.

It's not that you're inaccurate. You're not. It's just that you're already given Chuck a built in excuse on the eve of July to be patrolling the sidelines next yr without having to pull his weight or prove himself yet again.

it's really simple.. rome was not built in a day and neither will this football team. win or lose the division this year our ultimate goal of a super bowl isn't coming this year no way so why rush our best player back from injury when we could wait a little longer and have him back at 100% ready to go and at that time maybe our team will be playing great too so it can all come to fruition. but again it'll take Time. T-I-M-E time << Bill B voice.

Blythe can't play G in the NFL. Grig's may have been the only person who gets a check that thought he could.

The Rams signed Sullivan to play C. He's been one of the better C's in the league. Unless he gets injured and Blythe wins the C job. He will not be on the roster. He offers no position flexibility

I can only think of one GM that keeps a pure pivot as a back up on the OL. If you think he can play G watch his start at RG last year He gave up 9 hurries and we helped him a lot. Lucks strength kept him from getting sacked but he got hit a bunch.

lol no I hear you. obviously Blythe or the Rams aren't a big concern of mine. I'm more worried about the people of our o-line who are still here :)

I agree. In reality with all the new players that will be on the roster it will take some time to play as a unit.

I'm afraid those who are expecting a division crown and a deep playoff run are just setting themselves up for disappointment.

We may still be a draft away from building a team that can be competitive with the other top teams.

With that said there will still be those that if a division crown and a playoff run don't happen they will want someone fired and heads to roll.

yup I agree 100% hopefully those people understand that the process takes more than 1 season

Root for us to have a good season. It's a lot more fun that way and it makes forum life A LOT more bearable.

it's kind of a win win though if we do have a bad season I won't be too upset and if we have a great season then that's awesome. unless we keep our coach and get like a late 20s pick cuz I mean we'd still get value but not as much maybe as a top 10 pick obviously. it's not as simple as just want a good season not this year. even though I always want the Colts to kick butt

9 out of 10 times we should hope to do well. This year is the exception. We have to get rid of Pagano. Chris Ballard has to get his own coaching staff, and we could use a very high draft to put one more great draft class around Luck and the Colts to fill in the pass rush and defense more and be possible contenders next year. A lot of our rookies and FA's will hit, but some won't. This should be a year for evaluating what we have and what we don't, along with getting Luck fully healthy. Once that happens and we add a new coach and draft class, we'll have a shot at being contenders next year. As of now, we are stuck in neutral though.

Yeah my thoughts exactly. I mean Ballard has said it a lot since the first day he got hired "it takes time to put a team together a locker room together and build something." One offseason isn't gonna do it this year is a prove it year for everyone and afterwards there will be a lot of evaluating and I personally don't think Pagano will be back next year and our new coach might need some time too. This will take time but the message I think is it will be worth the wait.

  11. honestly as a die hard colts fan i'm kind of stuck between a rock and hard place between wanting us to have a good season and a bad season. I want us to do pretty badly so pagano could get fired with no problems for Ballard and i'd love for us to have a high draft pick to work with. But I'm also so sick of hearing people talk % about the Colts I'd love for us to go out and shut everyone up and have Andrew end up top 20 in the top 100 and be respected like he should be. I'm just so curious as to what's gonna happen :P

So what do you think it will be?

Will it be an action pose where he's throwing the football or something?

Will it be a neutral pose of him standing there?

Will it be a victorious pose of him celebrating something?

I was thinking an action pose but after listening to the video I think it will be a neutral pose now.  Main reason is he talked a lot about his face and head and how it would appear.  But if it was a football pose with him wearing his helmet, far less effort would have to go into the face and head as the helmet would cover most of it.

Definitely a pose of him after a 3 step drop ready to fire a perfectly placed ball to Reggie or Marvin or whoever.
