  1. They are one of  the TV games in Alaska tomorrow. That hasn't happened since Manning left unless it was a Monday/Sunday/Thursday night game we didn't get them.

I think it helped that Denver played on Thursday. I will take it. I can finally watch from the comforts of my own house on the big TV no stupid computer streaming or waiting to watch on NFL rewind.

If there are any posters in AK on the board I would be glad to meet anyone at the bar for games not aired up here. I know 9am at the bar is a pain especially when it's cold and we rarely play the noon game.

I live in New York and I do have the Sunday Ticket on Direct TV - surprisingly - both the Bengals Game and today's Steeler game are on regular network CBS! Very rare to see the Colts on network here.

I agree with the original poster - the Colts are starting to get some respect! Part of it is that the Jets/Bills play at 1PM and the Giants have a bye - but I would have thought the Eagles Cardinals would be the local CBS game.

Also, it seemed like every time I switched on the radio or the TV to a sports channel and the subject of the Colts came up - all they did was praise the team and Andrew and the defense and talk about how we are "for real".

Heard a couple of places that it's now down to the Colts/Broncos for the AFC, which is probably a little premature to me - but that is the rap.

  2. I hope the coaching staff is actually pro-active in the Moncrief plan and saving him for the playoffs.

I think it is a brilliant to continue to use Moncrief VERY sparingly. He is coming on and getting better and better and can be our secret weapon in the playoffs. Opposing teams have very little film on him and I think it's a great idea to keep it that way. He is hard enough to cover and will have the advantage of no one being familiar with his moves and cuts. I say sprinkle him in very judiciously and save him as an ace in our back pocket.

Of course, I have been saying this all along and all bets are off if injuries in the receiving corps pile up.

  3. Of Mice and Men.

Way too many know-it-all mice on here for any real apologies - except for TKight24, who manned up big time, and of course the others here who are doing some tasty crow snacking, with the egg clearly visible on their faces.

Thanks for that, I for one appreciate it a lot.

The mice will just disappear and conveniently  stick their head's back in  the minute we lose a game.

Naysayers thrive on negative energy. Naysayers must naysay - it sadly is in their nature.

  4. I would think it was ALL about what Walden said. The push was simply demonstrative.

I hope it comes out, but whatever the circumstances and words exchanged - you can bet it was more than likely warranted.

We know Walden is a hot head.

  5. Oh, but he will NEVER be another Marvin......

    Route running blah blah blah

:yay:  :yay:  :yay:  :yay:  :yay:  :yay:  :yay:

    Are you kidding me?

Wake up and smell the coffee folks.....And get used to it.

True receiver greatness is once again thriving in the Colts Camp.

    It's undeniable.

  6. Let's fire all the lame geniuses. You know, the REAL coaches, OC and GM. The know-it-all-geniuses on this board that apparently believe they are the ones in charge of personnel and team development.

    Fire em one and all.

  7. As a student of the game and a "still learning" fan, I always admired the Baltimore defense in the last couple of years of Pagano. Even back then, I realized it was kind of a hybrid and all - but the way they kind of wandered around and didn't really commit to anything before the snap really intrigued me. I admit, like many of you, I was disappointed when Chuck came here and the Colt's defense just didn't look quite look the same.

Fool am  I. Of course, it takes any new coach or co-ordinator a couple of years to get the right players, the right training, the right scheme, the right conditioning - like leading troops to battle. Now that Chuck has his type of players (major beef as one trait - among the beefiest in the league) and they have learned his helter-skelter scheme - obviously with the help of Manusky - they are beginning to carve this defense into Chuck's pride and joy. I am not saying we are there - maybe we are, or getting close - but Chuck is starting to realize his vision for this defense - and I believe that he now has most of the personnel he was looking for. When I saw them wandering around before the snap today and not committing - and then BRINGING IT - I realized we are well on our way and it reminded me so much of that Pagano Raven's defense.

What a remarkable performance by the defense today!

  8. LOVE the title of the post.

I have a HUGE problem with Landry's attitude and I sense the coaching staff does too. What is this "I don't want to be around the team - I will work out on my own - thank you very much" crap? Not a team player, not even close. Hope the combo of folks we use and maybe develop quickly - smoke his butt and put him on the bench. I know, I know, he makes a decent amount of tackles and plays - but if your arms were bigger than your thighs you would too. All obviously developed covertly as a clever cheater. As brilliant comedienne Margaret Smith once said about working out:

"If your neck is as big as your head - Take a day off!"

Don't even try to defend him - believe me, whether anyone admits it or not - and OF COURSE they won't - he is a major distraction any way you want to slice it. Frankly, I don't care how much money we have invested in him, a loser is still a loser.

  9. I was excited as everyone was last year when he emerged on the scene, of course impressed with his athletic ability and his size - but was VERY disappointed over his progress from last year to this. If he had the obsessive work ethic it takes to be a star in the NFL he would have gotten with Reggie and Andrew and others during the offseason and made a noticeable improvement in his moves and his route running. Of course, I am not privy to his workouts, schedules, habits etc. and maybe he did work his butt off,  but I saw the same guy who seemed to make very little improvement.

His routes and moves seemed really predictable and lacked any kind of "Reggie-ness" which perplexes me. Reggie has a reputation as a great teacher, but why didn't anything rub off on Rogers? It just seemed like he was more or less the same novice he was last year. Instead of jumping on the Rogers bandwagon, I took a bit of a "show me" standoffish attitude about him. In retrospect, I am glad I did.

I think it is obvious that there were some deeper issues that go beyond his immaturity. It looks to me like he had a disdain for the coaching staff, which he exhibited more than just tonight. Maybe he is young and still resents authority, and would disrespect ANY coaching staff, who knows. All I can say is that if the presence of that outstanding locker room and the quality of the character there has not rubbed off on him yet - it probably won't.

I say bag him, if you can keep him on the practice squad fine - I don't see him as a player at this point with any significant trade value, nor do I see teams clamoring to pick him up off waivers.

I could be wrong, I certainly have been many times before and this could be another time.

  10. He turned them down, coaches are allowed to look around, jeeze. And an SEC HC job is nothing to scoff at.

Yes, he is allowed to look around at ALL the college coaching jobs and I am sure he will - I therefore, should be allowed to question his loyalty, which I do. Apparently, I am not the only one - hence the Chud hiring.

  11. I'm telling y'all, the hire of Chudzinski proves Pep is on a short leash

If Pep was doing good or if they had faith in him.... Why hire someone else?

Pep better get it together or the doors gonna hit him where his body splits him

    haha

Yup, additionally - he seems ready to bolt at a moments notice - and I am sorry - there is not a college head coaching job in the UNIVERSE that is more fun or challenging than working with our beloved Colts. He should be kissing the ground every day he is here instead of sniffing out college jobs. I don't care if some consider it an upgrade for him to be a HEAD COACH in college, a few successful years with the Colts and he will be getting NFL head coaching offers.

Just my opinion, as always I could be wrong.

Fire up the flamethrowers, but I will never understand. Cmon Vanderbilt? You have to be kidding me. What an embarrassing joke and no wonder they grabbed Chud.

  12. Jeff Saturday just did a nice COLTS segment on Colin Cowherd which is on ESPNU right now.

I believe - at least here in New York - that they loop this and show it again, although I don't have the schedule.

Some of the best discussion of Andrew and the Colts I have heard about this year, but I am a big Colin fan and Saturday fan too, of course. They both agree Colts are top three in the AFC, period. Also a lot on how the offense is stacked - mentioning all the receivers - (except Rogers of course) and talking about the power of the Colts offense. Saturday knows that Luck is for real by talking to the Colts equipment managers and trainers who always tell the truth. Some insights about the history of the pre-season with the philosophies of Polian, Dungy, Caldwell and Mora mentioned. Lots of stuff went by quickly but worth going out of your way for IMHO.

Still on but they are talking Giants and some other teams now.

EDIT: It is 1PM and "The Book of Manning" just came on ESPNU here in New York. OK with me, I haven't seen it yet. Looks like it is on until 2:30 PM here.

  13. Someone needs a nap

    Sleepy are ya?

By the look of your posts, I would definitely say so.

Just love the way you comment on the OP and the subject matter - intelligent, insightful.....WOW, you have it all.

Your post reveals so much more about YOU than you are even capable of realizing.
