  1. I think the key for Mariota is who drafts him. He's probably going to go to a team with a traditional west coast offense. He has no experience in that department and is exactly the type of guy who needs to sit for a few years. He'll need a good QB coach to mentor him. If he goes to a team like the Bucs, he will probably fail hard. Not sure Tennessee is the best place for him either since I think people who say Whisenhunt is a QB guru are delirious.

I saw alot of wide open WR hard to gage accuracy when NFL Receivers rarely get open to that degree. I am unsure if Mariota can make NFL throws. Rg3 was very accurate at Baylor. Winston has a horrible delivery that needs fixed ASAP.

  2. I'm afraid the WR corps is actually one of the biggest weaknesses going into the offseason. This is in contrast to it being a strength last offseason.

We can only count on TY and Moncrief....and Moncrief really hasn't established hiimself.

The colts need to find a midrange vet FA to complement the 2 youngsters. Gavin mentioned signing Cecil Shorts from the Jags in another thread a while back. I think that option would be a good fit.

I would not want to rely upon the draft, since that would just be another young guy to develop. But, if a WR that would perform as well as this years rookie 1st round WRs have performed was there at pick 20 something, I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger despite the needs on defense.

Cecil Shorts are you kidding. Pass on that. Rather resign Nicks of shorts is the best we can get.

  3. Wouldn't worry about the whol e"never won in Indianapolis" thing

You guys are seriously just a QB away (and a few other pieces) from taking the divsion. We should've loss yesterday but neither of the QB's in a Texans uniform could do much. Colts are above average team at best. Lots of flaws. 2 weeks straight we've barely escaped a Loss

Not really. They aren't. But enjoy the narrative. And really QB like luck come around every 15 years so good luck with that Texans! Lousy franchise with zero upside.

  4. Doubt it though. We are one of the sketchiest playoff teams out there, and we have been since 2012. It's not an indictment on the team, but you don't go from a 2-12 team to an elite top tier team in 3 seasons. A lot of our glaring holes usually come out in the playoffs and against elite teams. I'm sure Dallas will expose the Run D next week. Playoffs don't matter if the Patriots don't get knocked out.

Golly, more sketchy than Cincy, Bmore, and any other wildcard team?

  5. We have Thad Lewis, he just wasn't active today. It isn't too much of a longshot but even if it was, as of now the Texans are still in it.

Mathmatically ok. But Texans are toast playing the string waiting for the real teams to play the real season. Losers

  6. The Seahaws a few years back. There was talk about it then, as I recall.

I think that his year may add to that discussion. I think that it should -- just not sure of the best way to proceed, however.

It the owners. Division champs will always get a playoff an a home game. They owners are steadfast in this and it's not changing. That's why division titles do matter.

  7. Ya I am. We looked terrible the last 2 of 3 weeks. We have no run game. We cant stop the run. We got up early on Houston the first time and barely held on to win. All it will take is Houston making a few plays against us with their pass rush and pound the ball and we are is serious trouble.

Like the last time they beat the Colts in Indy? Oh wait that has never happened!

  8. The division will be decided in Indy December, 14 when Houston comes to town. I think the season sets up for it to play out that way. It will go down to the last week of the season but the team that wins that game in Indy will be the division winner.

Do we have what it takes to win? Houston has one of the best running games in the NFL and a top pass defense due to their pass rush. On paper, it doesn't look good for us.

If 30th is top rated then yeah!
