Obviously colts & other teams will need to due their due diligence. I will say having actual video proof of an incident causes much more scrutiny and media backlash.
For instance, folks that closely follow hs recruiting and college football were very aware of the joe Mixon incident and the unreleased video. When the video was released and started showing up on TV etc.... the Joe Mixon incident became a much bigger deal.
Ray Rice & Kareem Hunt incidents also were viewed very differently once the videos were released.
Right or not, violence is viewed very differently when people actual see it vs just reading a report about it.

I posted something similar in a thread a few weeks ago but thought this warrants it’s own thread. Would the colts even have Simmons on their draft board?
Simmons was a HS AA & had a Joe Mixon type incident HS (check out 28 sec mark of video below) . Mullen & Miss st allowed him to enroll. He is a stud on the field but might drop in draft once his story & video hits the mainstream media.

Weigh-ins were very critical for me:
-Rock Ya-Sin’s height was greatly exaggerated. 5’11” But was listed at 6’2”
-Isaiah Bugs is going to fall. 6’2” isn’t cutting it
-Jalen Hurd never had any business playing RB. 6’4” is bigger than Derrick Henry. I can see why the people who brought him to Tennessee are no longer employed.
-At 275, Omenihu is an Edge player.
-Renell Wren is by far the defensive player who could rise the highest during this process. He’s a walking freak.
-Marquise Blair needs to get in the weight room ASAP.
And what happened to Gerald Willis III?
Gerald Willis is recovering from an injury and pulled out. He didn’t play in the bowl game either.
Supposedly nothing too serious.

Here are the guys I thought might fit that bill, at least until the Colts started moving down the draft order.
Ed Oliver (probably long gone by 25-26)
Jeffery Simmons
Raekwon Davis (returning to Alabama)
Christian Wilkins
Dre'Mont Jones
Gerald Willis may be another guy to consider at some point?
I follow hs recruiting pretty closely and am a huge Canes fan. Simmons and Willis both had terrific years but have had off field issues in the past that might cause them to drop in the draft.

I wanted to buy this Mitchell & Ness Peyton Manning Throwback "Tshirt" in white, but I need a Medium. Can't find it anywhere in that size. If anyone knows where to get one, please let me know. Thanks

Lenzy was released by lions.

I really like this move. It is low risk move with a potential payoff if he returns to form (& health).
He is someone I thought highly of in last year’s draft. He played very well against Clemson and at the senior bowl. Weighed in at 293 at senior bowl and 303 at combine.

This team ain’t going anywhere until we get Authur Maulett back on the field.
Who is Aurthur Maulett and when did he join the team? Ever seen that name before. Hmmmm
Haha. Sometimes fought to keep track with all of the moves. They added him at CB a couple of weeks ago after he was released by the saints.

When it comes to the draft, I see few similarities between Ballard and Polian, so I'm not sure how much I would take away from that. In the week leading up to the draft, Polian seemed pretty anti-Nelson.
I agree. Polian doesn’t value the guard position as highly.
Also our moves in free agency will greatly influence our draft priorities.

Bausby has a really good off season with eagles and at 1 point was pushing for starting job in camp. As the preseason played out he fell behind other guys including last year’s 2nd rd pick Sidney Jones.
Josh Shaw has never really impressed me. Good measurables that never really translated to the field IMO.
-
Great move by pats IMO. I posted in the other thread. This an extremely low risk move:
- gave up a low 5th rd pick
- his salary is only $785k
- Pats own his rights for next year.
If he screws up again, you cut him without losing much at all.
If he straightens out, you have a top 5 wr talent in nfl.

He's a vested vet, he will not go on the waiver wire. If released he'll be a free agent and free to choose between whichever teams want him.
You are correct.
Earlier reports indicated he would be subject to waivers due to all of his suspensions impacting his accrued time. It impacted his free agent status this off season.
-
I don’t think Ballard will pick him up via trade or if he falls to us with the 3rd waiver claim.
Also I wouldn’t bet on Gordon all of sudden getting his act together.
With that being said, I would absolutely submit a waiver claim for him. This is an extremely low risk, but potentially a high reward move.
- His salary is dirt cheap for the reminder of this year.
- If he doesn’t turn it around, you cut him.
- If he does turn it around (not likely) you have a stud talent.
No harm in taking a chance on this type of talent. If he fails again, it didn’t cost you anything.
This is an extremely low risk, but potentially a high reward move.

Herb Waters and Korey Robertson are intriguing developmental players.
Also so this is the week veteran players that were released prior to week 1 get picked up.
Falcons signed DE Steven Means who I liked. Nate Orchard signed with Bills. Pats already signed Corey Coleman. Perriman working out for a bunch of teams. Braxton Miller is on eagles practice squad.

Why do we need Coleman? We have three young backs with varied and overlapping skill sets.
Agree. I can see signing Coleman as a free agent but not giving up assets for him.
-
Packers waived former Canes Wr Herb Waters who they converted to cb (like they did with Sam Shields).
-
Looking through the list of players dropped today due to waiver claims.
Carl Nassib - DE Clev/Penn st Former 3rd pick
-
Some more info on Muhammad. Led preseason in sacks in 2017.
-
Mohammad was an elite hs recruit that chose the canes over Notre Dame. As a Canes fan, he always seemed on the verge of breaking out but never did. He was suspended for a year for breaking someone’s jaw.
In richt’s 1st year both Jermaine Grace (cut by us, but made browns roster) and AQM were supposed to break out but were suspended.

Bronocs cut DeAngelo Henderson...good RB..never got a chance
..and Jeff Holland....the Auburn DE who went undrafted...
..We could use both...
I agree. I’m definitely interested in both of them. Idinegbo de from Mn as well.
Steven Means DE was released from eagles as well.

I could see colts signing DE Steven Means released by eagles

I live in Delaware and went to university of Delaware and follow the program. Wes Hills was a talented rb for the blue hens but was academically ineligible so transferred to Slippery Rock.
Had a big season there and was just MVP of the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. Also has had a pretty good week at senior bowl.
