  1. You are correct that the clock resets to 25 seconds after a timeout. However, it had already run out 15 seconds prior to the clock being reset for a total of 40 seconds. That fifteen seconds made a difference considering the play clock almost ran out on the and would have without it. I don't know if they took a time out before the play but they were in a normal huddle and do not appear to have taken a time out.

The clock doesn't resume until they take the huddle. The time you see on the clock is likely the remainder left of the timeout. Nothing to see here.

....and to you others; Can we not even mention the damn Pats without "delfategate" being discussed again? This is getting exhausting. Move on.

  2. Be Sane!  Serenity NOW

Serenity goes out the window when that ball kicks off. If we come out Sunday, we suck and we lose..... of course people are going to complain and discuss what the problem is. ....and of course, we'll have these super awesome positive glass-half-full people attacking others for discussing the teams negativity.

These types of threads are simply a pointless preemptive strike at something which hasn't occurred yet. Not sure of point?

  3. Because you make it sound like they cut him because they wanted to. Maybe it's realizing is time to quit because he's the one who wanted to leave. You seen to not think about that. Like the only way for him to have finished proudly was to quit after the colts released him. That's just not the case.

That post of mine was made before it was made public that Reggie left NE on his own volition...btw

  4. Yes it is. Even national writers on SI, BR, etc frequently refer to the tanking of a season.

Go to various NFL teams' boards; the vast majority believe (incorrectly ) that the Colts tanked.

It's my own opinion that most of the people you see posting that garbage (Suck For Luck) don't actually believe that nonsense. They just say that to be jerks, like so many sports fans are ones to do. Anyone with the intellect required to successfully microwave a Hot Pocket should understand that this league is 100% business oriented around the individual, making it absolutely impossible for 100 players and coaches to harm their careers to help a team that will most likely dump them after the season.

  5. Yeah, I'm still a little surprised they released him. I'm not shocked though, we as fans really didn't get to see much of him but it's not like he was going to get much play time in the regular season anyways barring a couple injuries lol. This receiving core is loaded. I really think Griff i ls incredibly versatile and could be a starter on some teams.

Yep. In the week 1 preseason game, I also discussed how Griff's Special Teams acumen would be what saves his butt.

  6. First, I want to say if Josh is truly innocent, then good for him that his name has been cleared.

Secondly,  I want to comment on the Cop bashing.  Too much of this going on everywhere, and as some have already stated in this thread, there are bad apples in every profession.  Good Cops, Bad Cops  ~ they are out there.

I am friends with a few police officers in my city.  And I personally have never had any bad dealings with any police officer.

My best friends son is a Police Officer, and   I have two Officers that live on my street, and I am very happy to know each of them and feel protected in my city.

My brother is a 14 year IMPD officer. I've been on a few ride-alongs with him and the crap people give them.....just disgusting. It amazed me how people want to deflect their mistakes onto the person charged with upholding law.

I watched as half a block of residents screamed and yelled at my brother and the other responding officers for "being mean and rough" with the suspect they had caught. They were referring to the mace spewing from his eyes and the scrapes on his face, blood dripping from his nose. He fought like hell, ran on foot through several yards after running like hell in a stolen vehicle that he had crashed into a woman with children in her vehicle.

These people didn't care at all about this menace to their neighborhood, putting them all at risk for his own selfish desire to get away with stealing a vehicle that no doubt belonged to a resident of the neighborhood. All they cared about was how mean the police were to this piece of garbage. These neighborhoods will never improve. I'm not even going to use the word "until".....forget it...lost cause...they will never improve.

Some say that police are a threat to the citizens in certain neighborhoods, and I agree. It is with this that I propose operation "Keep 'Em Out". Let's start protecting these high crime neighborhoods from the police by constructing a 20 foot tall wall all around the neighborhood. Cover the top of it with broken glass and razor-wire, electrify the fence surrounding it. This will certainly keep these mean police officers out of their neighborhoods.

It's time we do something and offer people that are afraid of cops a choice, a place to live without the terror of police. This wall will keep 'em out. I'm waiting to hear back from my senator.

A league source tells me the Patriots are calling teams, shopping around for a big-bodied receiver.

Of the four players absent, two were cut, one was placed on PUP, and then there's Wayne. He hasn't played well in preseason. The writing may be on the wall. I'm very conflicted on what I want because I don't want Reg to have such an unceremonious end but it would be nice if he only played as a Colt..

As much as I wanted Reg to have success beyond Indy, this is what happens when players don't know when to stop. We've seen this show before, my friend. Many many times.

  8. I teach my now 16 year old daughter to exercise some personal responsibility and don't put herself in such a position. There's a reason why so many people say you shouldn't place yourself in sexual situations with complete strangers, you should only do such a thing with someone you trust. This goes for men and women, celebrity and average Joe alike.

As fun as a one night stand can be, you're committing to a profoundly intimate act with a person you know absolutely nothing about.

These "rape" cases aren't referring to some creep dragging a hapless woman into a 1976 Ford van. We're talking about a woman stumbling around downtown, bar-hoping, looking for a good time. Not that she deserved what she got (if anything happened at all), but she has some responsibility for the position she put herself in.

Early in this thread people were discussing how you could prove rape, how one could protect themselves from false rape accusations. Well.... how about not having sex with people you know nothing about? That's a good start, isn't it?

People these days like to scoff and laugh at the idea of having a moral compass, but then we get these many reports of suspicious sounding "rape" allegations every week. Most of which only occur after someone makes a decision to put themselves in incredibly intimate situations with total strangers. Err on the side of caution, that's what juries tend to do. If there's no absolute proof of guilt, then they tend to vote not guilty. As it should be.
