  2. I would actually take this list of players quite lightly I mean dont get me wrong, I love some of the names on this list ( like Sylvester Williams) but after much digging I found that we don't draft many ( if any) of the players we met with.

    Georgia tackle/guard Cordy Glenn,

    Oklahoma safety Markelle Martin

, North Alabama cornerback Janoris Jenkins,

    Arkansas defensive end Jake Bequette,

    Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden

     LSU tight end Deangelo Peterson,

Michigan State tight end Brian Linthicum,

    Ohio State center Mike Brewster,

     Arkansas wide receiver Joe Adams,

All I'm saying is, when it comes to the draft, it might not likely be those on the list Grigs will draft

We did have meetings/visits with Luck, Hilton and Harnish last year, though.
  3. Okafor was a very much top notch pass rusher

Rhodes in my opinion is the best Corner in the draft, far better then trufant, teams were not scared to throw on Trufant , pretty much most experts would tell ya Rhodes is better then Trufant and its not close

I love Trufant as a prospect, think he has great man coverage skills, can press and jam receivers at the line, has fantastic closing speed to make plays, shows competitiveness - isn't a ballhawk but he's definitely a better athlete than Rhodes is. As for the most experts thing, who is saying that it isn't even close?!
  4. if the opportunity arose - draft DJ Fluker?

My thought process is that Fluker is thickly built with good size to play Guard. He's better in pass protection that people give him credit for, but he is very susceptible against speed rushers so you could take him off the edge. I think that guard is still a problem area for the team, and drafting Fluker could add a good player who can play a couple of position, and also a really strong run blocker in a power run offense that Hamilton likes.

Of course, this is only if Cooper and Warmack have gone, which I imagine is highly likely.

I'd say OLB is the other biggest need alongside guard, then probably cornerback.

  5. OL: Brian Winters (Kent State), Brennan Williams (North Carolina - I love this guy but an injury will see him slip),

WR: Aaron Mellette (Elon), Marquess Wilson (Washington State - left over an argument with a coach though), Chris Harper (Kansas State), Aaron Dobson (Marshall)

DT's: Brandon Williams (Missouri Southern), Montori Hughes (Tennessee-Martin)

OLB's: Jamie Collins (Southern Miss), Trevardo Williams (Connecticut), Cornelius Washington (Georgia), Sio Moore (Connecticut), Wes Horton (USC), Quanterus Smith (Western Kentucky - again, injury will cause him to slip...may have to miss a year like Chapman)

CB's: Rod Sweeting (Georgia Tech), Marc Anthony (California)

    SS's: Shamarko Thomas (Syracuse)

  6. I don't usually like to include trades because they're tough to imagine, but I'm gonna play around with one here.

    Notable Free Agency Moves

    WR Dwayne Bowe

    OG Luis Vasquez

    OLB Paul Kruger

    CB Mike Jenkins

    Draft

Indianapolis trades #24 for Arizona's second, third and fifth round picks.

2nd round (From Arizona): Larry Warford, OG, Kentucky

3rd round (From Arizona): Bennie Logan, DT, LSU

3rd round: Brennan Williams, OT, North Carolina

4th round: Montori Hughes, DT, Tennessee-Martin

5th round (From Arizona): Rod Sweeting, CB, Georgia Tech

6th round: Wes Horton, OLB, USC

7th round: Kyle Juszczyk, FB, Harvard

  7. Like the draft, 7th Round Kicker is a terrible waste of a pick, I'd get one in FA if ya really think we need one now, I go a tall WR in the 7th, also I like Barwin but rather have Paul Kruger also I'd make a play for William Beatty since he (at this time) is expected to become a Free Agent and see if he can play RT, I'd also rather have Shipley starting, Satele just has not shown well anywhere he has went, plays with two left feet. Also I'd take Joe Vellano in the draft over Boyett (but Vellano wont last that long)

Not sure I agree. The Colts spent 7th round picks on Justin Anderson, Tim Fugger and Chandler Harnish. None have contributed anything, whereas Hopkins could be our kicker for a long time.

  8. Mine:

    1) Matt Elam, S, Florida

    3) JAmie Collins, OLB, So. Mississippi

    4) Hugh Thornton, OG, Illinois

    6) Cory Grissom, DL, So. Florida

    7) I believe this went to STL for Josh Gordy...

It's going to be a very hard year to predict the draft for two reasons.  1) The Colts will be very active in FA b/c of all that cap space, so we have to guess which needs they'll fill in FA and which in the draft.  2) We don't know Grigson or the needs of the 3-4 system all that well yet.  It's not like the Polian days when we knew what type of players he picked at each position, and where in the draft he liked to get those positions...

I'm also thinking Collins would be a good move in the 3rd.

  9. Mike Wallace may be a lot better than Avery,   but I don't think he's worth 5-6 times what Avery is.

Wallace will want $50 Mill over 5 years.     Avery will likely re-sign for $2 Mill a year for 3-4 years.     Huge difference.

I don't think Wallace is worth close to that.     I'd be perfectly happy to keep Avery and pair him with TYH and Brazill to go with Wayne and one other WR.    Combine those WR's with the expected improved play from our TE's,  and we should be fine at the receiver spot.

I've gone off the idea of signing Wallace in recent weeks. But I don't want Avery back either.

  10.

This may be the best post that I've ever seen on a forum. Just the fact that you knew where these guys were and what players they coached.

I don't know if you look these up but, these connections are an outstanding thought. Not saying that I want everybody that's listed. LOL but just the fact that they are there would give us a heads up or opportunity to get them if needed.

    Nice work!

Oh it took a fair bit of research! But I had some spare time on Christmas Eve, thought it'd be interesting to search who might be a target...big free agency period coming up!
