    I see hill being projected as a 4th or 5th round pick.   I don't see 2nd round

I see Jones being projected as a 6th round pick according to Zierlein

I remember hearing those ranges earlier on, but from what I can tell now the consensus is that Hill will be 2-3 and Jones will be 3-4.  Who really knows, precise projection isnt super important. It was a very good DL.  I mean it was no Clemson but it was one of the better in the country for sure.  You had Chubb off the edge, Hill to occupy blockers and handle double teams, and Jones as more of a disruptor.  Then Street who wasn't great but still good enough to be considered an NFL prospect.

I was actually reading a good article on Jones the other day, here it is if you're interested:

What was so stacked about NC State D Line? Has anybody whose opinion mattered even presented that as an argument anywhere?

I don't see it as an argument against Chubb but it's certainly true.  In addition to the top 10 pick in Chubb they had BJ Hill and Justin Jones at DT, both likely to be day 2 picks.  Then opposite Chubb they had Kentavius Street, also a guy almost certain to be drafted.  If that isn't a stacked college football DL then I don't know what is.

  3. The starters are kinda okay if healthy (big if).  Not too comfortable with Good at RT but he's not god awful either.  I might prefer Haeg to start there, but I don't mind him in the Joe Reitz "plug in anywhere but center" depth role.

I expect 2 OL within our first 5 picks.

I really hope that's not the case. The Colts WR group was weak last season...and it's even worse now...especially long-term.

The Colts still need two WRs. Meredith would be a good get, but he too is nothing more than a question mark with his injury.

I believe there are starting WRs in rounds 2-3 of this draft. You might be able to get a top 3 WR prospect at that point. For example, Christian Kirk would immediately be the second best WR on this team.

So I will be pretty disappointed if Ballard passes up WR.

He basically said Grant would be great as our #3, but we'd be okay if he was our #2.  Certainly did not imply we would not address the position, I think he's just saying we could survive as is if it comes to that.

I was a little bummed with the 1 year deal.    I dislike signing free agents to 1 year deals.

Grant is not a long term solution.  I expect a WR in the draft at pick 67 at the absolute latest.  Grant is just a stopgap much like Aiken or DHB.

Kind of makes me think Ballard doesn't have a plan and whiffed on everyone else.

This is such a lame signing.

No excuse to not have paid Melvin or Hankins.

We don't need Ebron and honestly I don't think he helps at all.

So youre happy trotting out Doyle and a bunch of nobodies?  Ebron is actually more of a weapon than Doyle, though Doyle is more reliable.  We now have a very solid TE pairing and still have a billion dollars in cap space.

I get being nonplussed by this, but that anyone would complain about this makes no sense to me,

I love the Posts on this Board today. One minute Ballard stinks because he has does nothing in Free Agency, then he is a God because of the trade with the Jets, now he stinks again because he let Hankins go lmao. I love this Forum, it is definitely addicting.

We can only judge him by his actions.  The trade was a good move, this is a terrible move.

Not difficult to figure out.  There's no inconsistency there.

I'm 100% sure.  That's his mantra build through the draft.  I think it's Buffalo and he better move very fast and do it next week.  If it's one thing we've learned about Ballard is he moves SLOW.  Other teams have smart GM's that are making draft plans now and are pretty much done with FA.  I'm worrying about the Giants and Browns trading with them.  There is absolutely no reason to be cute and wait til draft day by thinking you might get a better offer then you get blindsided and lose out.  Make that swap ASAP.

But why would the Bills trade for 3 before they know who is going to be there?  And it gives other teams a chance to get up to 2 and take a qb since they know the bills will.

I don't think the trade can happen till we are on the clock.

    Edit: apparently I'm an *!
