  1. I think Houston is much better than their 2 wins last year... But what exactly have they added that just makes you think they are going to show all the improvement in the world??

I personally don't think any of the QBs in this years draft or Clowney make them a 9-10 win team

I think they are an 8-8 or better team before the draft or before any additions are made. They will have $10 million to spend on free agents when they trade (not likely) or cut Schaub. They get Arian Foster back. They had other injuries too. They have a new coach with great potential. They are picking number one on every level of the draft. I think they take Clowney, draft a QB with the first pick in the second round and sign or trade for a QB (Ryan Mallett?) to get them buy until the QB they draft is ready. Derek Carr is going to be very good. There are a few others in the early second that can be good too. I don't think they will be quite as good if they draft Bartles with the number one pick. He is raw and he won't be ready to start probably this whole coming season. They draft Clowney and they are looking at a top five defense in the NFL and a nightmare for every QB they face

  2. Let's hope it isn't Clowney. If the Texans take the spectacle formerly known as Johnny Football with their #1 pick they could find themselves demoted to the Arena League by the end of the season.

I have been watching that closely. I thought it was a sure thing that they would take Clowney. I don't think the new coaching staff can wait to develop a QB but Bortles is the kind of QB O'Brien likes and he had a pretty good workout at his pro day although nine passes were incomplete (some were dropped) and he overthrew long routes. He is raw and I don't see him starting right away but he has upside. I thought they would take Clowney and draft a QB (Derek Carr?) at the top of the second round.

  3. Broncos

    Colts

    Pats

Pats haven't added to the team as well as we have. .. and the Jones signing is what makes me put us right under broncos. If. We have Arthur Jones in the divisional game we are in the afccc..

The Pats added a lot more in my opinion. Arthur Jones is not an elite player at his position and neither is Jackson. I like the Nicks signing for us but I also like LaFell for the Pats. I think they added the premier CB in the game while we re-signed a young and developing Davis. I like the Davis signing but Revis makes the Pats a whole lot better for the short run. I think Denver added more than the Pats or Colts.

  4. Im going to say 3rd, The Broncos and Pats aren't playing any games with anyone this season.  I like our acquisitions but I think we need a stud G.  Im willing to give Khaled Holmes a shot at C :goodluck: .

    1. Broncos

    2. Pats

    3. Colts

I guess that I don't see the Colts over San Diego, Baltimore or Cincy. I see the Colts at about five or six and in a battle for the South Division title. I think our free agents improved us a little but as you mention the O-Line still needs work and we need a safety.

  5. outside of adding talib and Ward to the secondary in denver...i say denver is still the same looking team....adding Ware isn't really that big of a move IMO...maybe if this was the same Ware from two or three years ago then i would look at it differently....but now i think Ware and shaun Philips are somewhat of the same kinda player since Ware's production has dropped....and adding sanders is now different then having decker.. sanders just may be faster.....

I think Ware will take a lot of pressure off of Von Miller and they will be a dynamic pass rushing duo, perhaps the best in the NFL. Ware was a HUGE move. I think he will come back and be close to the Ware of old and he can't be double teamed as much because of Von. The two of them playing together will extend both of their careers. I think Denver is a whole lot better than last year even before the draft.

  6. Colts at #6 seems reasonable.  Stopped reading when I saw the Panthers at #10.  Any team that is so bad at WR that they might consider picking up me is not a top 10 team in the league.

I also noted that but there is still time to build that. I would be more concerned with Newton's surgery and the fact that he won't have a lot of time to develop some chemistry with new receivers. It was time to let Steve Smith go just because of his age.

  7. 9-7 more like 12-4

Home Houston, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Washington,

New England Away Houston, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Dallas, NY Giants, Denver

We win all division games. Lose to Denver, Patriots, Eagles, Ravens. Win rest

Las Vegas betting odds has the Colts at 9 wins after the first round of free agency. Houston is listed at 8.5 wins. If you really believe this is a 12 win team you can make a lot of money.

I think the Colts will lose to Houston, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, New England, NY Giants, and Denver. So I think we will be 9-7 and in a fight to win the division. I could see us winning two of the games I have listed but I can also see losing one or two others. The O-Line is still terrible and the Colts come down to earth a bit when Luck can't continue making super human comebacks. I think 9-7 will be a good season if we can see some improvement in the running game and stopping the run.

  8. The fact is, Welker is more than likely going to suffer irreparable health problems later in life, whether he walks away from the game tomorrow or not. He's a tough, tenacious little receiver and gives the game his all, going across the middle and taking big hits from big men. He's suffered a number of concussions over his career and after the last two back to back blows he took last season, I'm really surprised his wife hasn't demanded he walk away.

Keeping in mind what happened to Junior Seau, is it time for Denver to step in and tell him he needs to retire?

I understand chasing the ring, especially since he's come just a play away from getting it now on two occassions, in 2007 and in 2012, but the long term damage that comes and reveals itself later on in life from multiple concussions is really nothing to scoff at.

People have reported he's started slurring words and suffered from some black out at one point.

After taking those two back to back concussions last season, is it time for Welker to take his bow?

It looks like you are a Pats fan. Didn't the Pats play Austin Collie last year? He has had numerous concussions and some of them were very severe. Are you asking him to retire too? Welker had two concussions last year and I agree with much of what you say. But these guys think they are invincible and they won't just walk away.

  9. Yeah? I've been hit by a vehicle doing approximately 10. A Ford F350 Super Duty.

    You know what happened?

    N O T H I N G. I stepped to the side and moved out of the way.

The only way being hit at 10 miles an hour is going to do anything is if you're laying in the street.

And just shut up now because THAT is NOT the motorists fault.

Defend this man all you want. I don't care what happened, I care about what could have happened. Have you ever had a child step out on the street or swerve on a bicycle and made you have to brake for them? A man impaired like Irsay would not be able to do that. I don't care that it was 11:30 at night. This guy has been driving day and night in this situation. Now, if he ran over that person like you say and he was impaired it would certainly be his fault. He was supposed to be able to stop. Now, tell someone else to shut up because that isn't going to work with me.

  10. Bad day for the organization, but hopefully this is "rock bottom" for Irsay.. Hate to see anything like this happen, but it could have been much worse.

& lets hope this serves as a big time eye opener and he seeks help.

It won't be rock bottom unless they take the team away from him and they should do exactly that or when they come down hard on players for different issues, they will have no respect from anyone.

  11. There is a difference between battling cancer and battling substance abuse and DUI.  If you can't see that than perhaps I should be asking you if you are for real.  This will not be the same as CHUCKSTRONG and even to compare it to that is ridiculous.  I cannot believe that so many just run to support this man. He has been great for this organization and franchise but he made a mistake and this isn't the first time. He has had issues in the past.  It's amazing to me that you are treating this like it's something that wasn't entirely in his control.  Would you be showing this much support if he had hit and killed someone, what if it had been your family on the road while he was driving.  He made a mistake and he needs to pay for it. I just hope that him paying for it won't bring down the entire franchise that he helped build because that will hurt so many more people.

    This.....

  12. You can't go hammering him for what potentially might have happened, which given the speed involved might have proven not at all that much. Point being we've all done things that could have potentially have tragic consequences but by and large we get away with it. Yet I don't see you hollering for that to be classed as potential manslaughter.

Though your posts are well constructed and you come across as reasonable you have an agenda regards Irsay and the FO it seems.

Appreciate that you might feel strongly regards this but your posts are really OTT I think, especially when all facts have yet to be established.

I would feel the same way if the man who was stopped was Jerry Jones. On second thought, they could have just shot old Jerry and I would have cheered that. It has nothing to do with Irsay personally but it is a black eye for the franchise, the city and the NFL. I don't think the NFL will tolerate it and they are getting emails from people like me begging for them to kick Irsay or any other owner caught doing some like this out of the league for good.

  13. First off let me say I hope he gets help. I ran a pharmacy for over 12 years so I know the issues with pain medications and how easy it is to get hooked on them....especially for a recovering alcoholic. So I pray for his family and him to get well and get help.

That said my issues with Jim have always been about maturity and setting a good example as a leader. Whether it was tweets, or comments in the media and now this...it is a sorry thing and I refuse to kick someone when they are down but it was clear he has been lying for some time. It does not reflect well on the team and the community.

As punishment I have no clue...financial is a certainty...I also wouldn't be surprised to take away a first or second rd draft pick next year. This is a horrible black eye for the league and especially our team. I expect a pretty heavy punishment.

So do I or the NFL has no integrity at all.

  14. He could have killed multiple people going 10 miles an hour?

I'm sure homeland security was all over it.

He was driving 10 mph then. You think he drove that way all the way home? What difference does it make? You have a ton of steel going down the road and if that steel hits human beings, people will die. I am not saying this just because of Irsay. Anyone who gets a DUI should never be allowed to drive again and they SHOULD do jail time. The fact they don't and some people think that is cool, makes me more than a bit ill.

  15. apparently you missed the post where i told you first time dui charges will get him probation

I saw it and I think that is pathetic. People who endanger other people should be locked away for a good long time. I can hope that the other charges will make up for that and buy this fool some serious jail time. The NFL is going to hammer him hard.
