  1. Hmm. Are you aware that Super Bowl champion and MVP Kurt Warner was found playing in the arena football league after he went undrafted in the NFL?  Never count anyone out until they prove otherwise.

I am aware of that. I hope he does well I just don't think that people that big with talent get lost by the rest of the NFL.

  2. Which would you prefer over the next ten years?

    A. One Super Bowl appearance, and one Lombardi Trophy.

    B. Five Super Bowl appearances, zero Lombardi Trophies.

Winning one Super Bowl is great. Getting to five in ten years even if you don't win one is unbelievable in this age of no dynasties. I would take the five, that is an awful lot of winning.

  3. Don't care what anybody says Luck is the best young QB. Period.

He is going to be great but their teams would not trade Cam Newton, Wilson or Kapernik for him. There are people in Miami who think their QB, although a little behind right now, will eventually leave Luck way behind. I am not saying that I agree with any of this but to just say "Luck is the bet young QB. Period." is very wrong. You just say that he is a great young QB and leave it at that.

  4. I hate to say I agree. Peyton is a great regular season QB. His stats prove that and he will always be in my heart as a fan. But his stats in the playoffs show that he doesn't step up, when it is critical for you to. Peyton is 1-2 in SBs. In order for me to believe he is goat he needs at least 1 more SB. But 2 would solidify it, and no one could deny his greatness.

Yes, they would deny it. Check Peyton's stats and compare them to his regular season and to Brady in the playoffs. The losing in playoffs is not on Peyton's backs. He carried a lot of Colts teams into the playoffs who had no right to be there and that showed in the results.

  5. He is way too up and down in the regular season. Philip Rivers seems to be more consistent than Eli in the regular season.

If Eli continues his inconsistency, he will need 3 or 4 SB rings to make it to the HOF, IMO. If he however puts together a few good regular seasons moving forward without another SB ring, I can see him getting in as a second ballot HOF, just not the very first time he is nominated.

Eli has to compete with Big Ben and Philip Rivers from the same 2004 class. Very unlikely he is a first ballot HOF without a few more outstanding regular seasons. Same with Big Ben too.

River is not competition, he has never won anything and he is even more up and down than Eli. Big Ben will get in but he has been inconsistent too, I think Eli easily gets in before those players and he has tie to get to another Super Bowl or two. Haven't there been Mannings in five of the last seven Super Bowls? I am not sure about a first ballot either but I think he is a lock to get in unless the rest of his career goes like this year. It won't.

  6. You didn't see the emotional speech he gave in the locker room when he waa fighting cancer? I wanna say it was after the dolphins game in Luck's rookie season.

And yes I want undefeated Luck in super bowls but 2 out 3 is more realistic lol

1 out of 3 is just an insult to the colts. Especially if Reggie Wayne & Robert Mathis are still around for those super bowl games

And it's not like we're the Jags who're far from being super bowl contenders. We went 11-5 with an injury riddled team so we still don't know what we'd look like in Pep's offense at full health

Dwayne Allen, Reggie Wayne, Ballard, & Thomas were never on the field at the same time this season if I'm not mistaken

Andrew Luck may go undefeated in Super Bowls but it might be because he never gets to one. I think Wilson and the Seahawks will be in his way. San Francisco will be in his way and Cam Newton in Carolina may keep him from winning a Super Bowl if he does get there. I think Indy is seriously way behind Denver, New England, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and several other teams in the chase to get there. Right now, they are a lock to make the playoffs because they will probably get 6 wins every year in their division. They might even win a few wild card games but you saw what happened in New England. They need to get a lot better and the day of paying Luck is around the corner and then their will be salary cap issues. I look for an enormous bounce back from Houston this coming year so they might not win their six in the South. I hope they get to the Super Bowl next year but I do not realistically think that will happen.

  7. Actually, your comment is ignorant. The question is not asking about a difficulty factor, it's asking if we would be happy with 1/3. My answer is a resounding NO. Losing a SB is a lousy (sporting - let's get it in perspective) experience, so why would I vote for 2 outta 3 losses.

Taking the risk of be called ignorant, I want to point out that it took Seattle 37 years to get to the Super Bowl. The Colts went over 30 years without getting to a Super Bowl until Peyton came along. Peyton gave Indy fans unrealistic expectations about their right to be in the playoffs and the Super Bowl. Great as he may become, Andrew Luck may never get to a Super Bowl. So, you would pass on the opportunity to get that many Super Bowls and win one? Many team owners would just about die for the chance to do that. A GM that did that should be set for life.

  8. Colts could learn a lesson on how to build a defense.  Defense win games, "Hello Pagano and company!!!@"

You cannot build a great defense when you start a rebuild with your franchise QB. You build the defense and the O-line and then you get your franchise QB just like Seattle and San Francisco did. Very quickly, Luck will start being paid elite QB money and then you won't be able to build a great defense.

  9. Looking at the Seahawks Defense.. I was thinking of copying it for the colts in the up coming years... A Fs like Earl Thomas with his ball hawking instincts and run stuffing ability as well as a safety the size of Kam Chancellor (sp) 6ft 4 and 235... and a corner like Sherman size and the next piece is someone like Bobby Wagner (imo the 3rd best linebacker in the game)

They built their team BEFORE they got their QB instead of the other way around. That is the big difference.

  10. I realized, Peyton and Tom are good to a certain point only. When you stack a really good defense against them, they have no chance. Peyton had the one of the best WR corps of all time but obviously the teams focus wasn't there....

Put Andrew Luck against a good defense, he will quickly find a way to pick it apart. Even if it means running for his life, he gets around it.

Down by 35 points? No problem, he will not give up on his team. He will lift his teams spirit up and turn the game around.

Tom was absolutely not focused at all in the game vs. Denver. Neither was Peyton in the Super Bowl.

I think it is time to revise this list, not including Super Bowls but its the start of a new era:

    1. Andrew Luck

    2. Drew Brees

    3. Aaron Rodgers

    4. Peyton Manning

    5. Tom Brady

It really disappointed me to see how the Broncos performed today, it was horrendous..and feel like the Colts would have done much better then to give a free Super Bowl to the Seahawks like that. So glad we picked up Andrew Luck....

Is this the same Andrew Luck that threw 7 interceptions in the post season? Didn't the Colts get blown out by the Patriots who were then easily handled by the Broncos. Luck is very good and he is developing nicely. I don't see how you can rate him ahead of Wilson and Cam Newton but that is just my opinion. I am new here and I am amazed at this and another thread about Luck.

  11. I, too, think Luck will have a more successful career as far as winning Super Bowls.  But I don't think it has anything to do with titles or styles.  What we saw tonight with Denver is what always haunted the Colts.  In the big game, they have no running attack, no defense, and couldn't score points.  If Peyton isn't perfect, they lose.  Too imbalanced.  The Luck lead Colts are determined to be more balance.  If Luck has a top 10 defense, that alone will put them over the top.

First of all, Luck may never get to a Super Bowl much less win one. I am a big fan of the Colts and Luck but until Peyton Manning came along, they hadn't been to the Super Bowl in a long, long time. It may be a long time until they get to another one. I just read that a Manning was in five of the last seven Super Bowls. I think Seattle will slip next year and the 49ers will replace them as the best team in that area. They are going to lose a lot of players in the off season. They, like, Indy have the advantage of having Luck and Wilson on their rookie contracts. As soon as that is done, both teams will have a hard time staying competitive in my opinion. The NFL today is designed to prevent a dynasty. The Colts and Seahawks will be very good but the Super Bowl is promised to no one.
