This is pretty much how I feel… you never know what the future holds. It’s easy to say “we’ll be back next year”, but will we?

We’ve had two games so far we should have won, and have not been able to finish the deal… we should be 2-1 right now.

    It’s just frustrating…

Yeah, that's the thing, you never know when you'll win a championship or make it to the finals. Nuggets were up 3-2 and blew the series to the Wolves. One game was a blowout, and the other we just blew the lead. I'm one of the Colts fans who says the Colts underperformed with Manning only winning 1 SB, but it's hard to win championships. My Braves took 26 to win another championship after 95, and we were winning the division and making the playoffs every year. Nuggets were probably the best team in the West and we faced the wrong opponent in the playoffs. Injuries can kill a playoff run as well.

I hope you win 4 in a row, but if it doesn't happen, just think of the Pacers season as the 2014 Colts where you made the final 4. It's a season you should be proud of and hopefully you can build upon it.

Am I reading you right?   You're not all that impressed by our OL?!?

You wrote:  if our RT can stay healthy the whole year our OL should be a bit better above decent?!?    Really?   That’s it?  That’s all?   A bit better above decent?   Or am I completely misunderstanding you?

    Raimann.  Nelson.  Kelly.  Fries.  Smith?

You don’t think that’s a top-10 line?   A plus for the Colts offense?

I respect you Mike, so I’m assuming I’ve misunderstood your meaning.

He thought I meant that, when I said I meant that just for OTA's and not the regular season.

    I agree with 1st paragraph

Respectfully I DONT agree with your assessment of the OL.   If our RT can stay healthy the whole year our OL should be a bit better above a decent year

I personally think our DL will also be a BIT better with depth behind Grover that we didn’t have as well as our shiny new DE

I meant in OTA's, not the regular season. I absolutely agree our O-Line and D-Line will do well in the regular season.

  4. I'll just say this, if there was a bet in Vegas that you could pick the last person to sign their rookie contract with the Colts this year, I'm sure AD Mitchell would have been far and away the favorite. He would have been my guess. He didn't show much emotion when we drafted him, and I'm guessing he's still upset he fell to the 2nd round. Hope he's not going to be petty and hold out.

  5. The offense is probably going to dominate to an extent as the defense will be limited in what they can do, so I expect Richardson to get some nice throws in. I want to see how good his short and medium accuracy throws are. I'd like to see him gain some chemistry with AD Mitchell and throw the ball deep to Pierce. Also want to see Woods get involved.

Right now, I don't expect much from the O-Line and D-Line. There won't be much physicality, but maybe a bit of pressure. I do want to see how JuJu, Flowers, Abraham, Jones, and Simpson will do defending our WRs. Also, Cross, Scott, and Thomas from the Safeties.

Fail New York Knicks GIF by Indiana Pacers- I called it, we have the better team. Haters can go suck an egg, nobody gave us a chance today and we not only won but we destroyed the Knicks. Now what @Mylesis that good enough. Yeah, I am calling you out too. Once the media and the NY fans were talking crap, they made it personal with me after Game 5, I sent an e-mail to our FO and said everyone is picking against us including some of our fanbase. Let's lay the hammer down, block out their celebrity-based crowd is what I sent them, they made it personal, at that point they stepped in doo doo.

Congrats on beating the Knicks! Hoping the Nuggets finish off the Wolves tonight in Denver. Would love to make the Final 4 with you!

Yeah, there is talk whether or not we should extend him. That is a no brainer to me, I say yes. He has struggled a bit vs the Knicks but played great vs the Bucks and was great in the Regular Season.

Yeah, I agree. Get him extended for 3-4 more years. He's a vital part of your team opposite Haliburton.

Yeah in the Reggie days we made 6 Eastern Finals and a Finals but it was always something where we came up short. Same for the Paul George days from 2012-2014. The problem in those years we couldn't beat Miami who had Lebron and Wade. When Reggie played, it was Jordan, than Kobe/Shaq. Just unfortunate.

If you come back and win 2 games, you'll make the final 4 minimum. That would be equivalent to the 2014 season the Colts had with Andrew Luck. So, there's a lot on the line for you coming up.

They got physical with us last night, and punked us. They won't do that on Friday. We can beat them 2 in a row and have proven that.

I hope you do. Would be a lot of fun to see the Pacers have a realistic shot at the finals. They have gotten a lot of bad luck throughout their history as a franchise.

Nobody is beating Denver so I am already giving you congrats. You will beat Boston in 6 if that is the Finals. They are mentally weak, Joker will take their lunch money.

I appreciate it. Just not counting my chickens before they hatch yet. Another NBA finals win would be the cherry on top heading into the NFL season.

I still think we will win the series. NY hasn't beat us yet at INDY and I don't see that changing. Get it to Game 7, then all the pressure is on them being at home. I just think we have the better team and have said that all series long. If we don't win the series I will say I was wrong but it still won't take away that we have overachieved and had a good season.

2 in a row isn't out of the question. You are the underdog to do so, but it's happened plenty of times before in the playoffs. Nuggets were down 0-2 and won 3 in a row. You can do it. DeVecinzo is better than you give him credit for though.

Before the season started, from fans to the media had us winning 46 games on average, being a 7th seed, and losing in Round 1. We won 47, was a 6th seed, and in Round 2 only down 2-3. So yes, we have overachieved even if it ends Friday. In reality, only 1 fan base is happy at the end of the year, that is the team that wins the Championship. Nobody is beating Denver so why watch. I watch for the journey just to see how far the Pacers can go and they are exciting to watch most nights. This has been the best season we have had in 10 years and it still isn't over.

You've done well this season. The Knicks are a tough team. I think the Pacers have a bright future. I think if the Nuggets can finish the series with the Wolves, we have a chance to repeat. They scare me more than any other team. The Celtics would be scary in the finals if that were the matchup, but I like our chances. The Nuggets are clutch in the playoffs.

But our pass defense wasnt that bad last year, so Im not sure why you think its such an issue. We were in the middle of the pack in just about every category despite the fact we were playing rookies and 1st or 2nd year players with little game experience all over the place. I dont think we are as bad as people think.

I think there is still a chance they sign somebody like Justin Simmons but I wouldnt bank on them bringing in a significant player at corner.

We were middle of the pack in a lot of categories, but we were 28th in scoring defense, and that's what ultimately matters. We were allowing points, and it was costing us games. Even with Minshew we could have made the playoffs if the secondary was better. I don't want that to happen again this year.

I'm getting sick of the blame every time Ballard doesn't sign someone.  It's a way to complain about Ballard for not signing any FA without anyone being able to prove that player had any interest in signing here in the first place unless there's a report on twitter that confirms it.

    See how that works. :)

If no players but Davis and Flacco had interest in signing with Indy during the whole FA period this year, then we have more problems than we realize. That's the thing, I liked the draft more than most on here. However, it's contingent on signing a DB in FA to override the fact that we didn't draft a starting DB to help the secondary.

No one with a straight face can say the secondary is fixed with our young players returning from injuries. Not even Ballard knows that 100%, and people on the forum certainly don't know that. I'm going to go the route that our secondary is a weakness with the backing of facts that QBs destroy us in the pass game, no matter how good or bad they are.

When you have cap space open like we do after restructuring Buckner's contract, you can go after a veteran DB. Maybe we do, maybe we don't. However, if we don't, we are playing with fire. We are putting our hopes that our secondary is better after 1 year of development, and a 5th and 6th round rookie may make the team and make a difference. Most of the time, that isn't happening.

Every morning I wake up and thank God you're not the Colts GM.

Just do me a favor. If we sign a veteran in the secondary. Do not praise Ballard. You don't get to bash me wanting a DB option but then praise the move if Ballard does it. If you hate the move when I say it because it presents Ballard or the team in a negative light, then you can't praise Ballard in the moments where him and I agree on something and I say it before it happens.

Double-digit sacks for a rookie is rare.   It might happen but it’s not likely.

Oh, I know. IMO, this is the best EDGE that Ballard has ever drafted for us. He has experience, he has a motor, and he has lots of pass rush moves. I find it hard that he won't be elite if he's healthy. I have him as the top EDGE in the class though, so I may be one of the highest on him on the forum. We'll see. One of the rare times where I'm extremely positive right now.

We do have the cap space to sign someone.   But maybe Simmons doesn’t to sign with Indy?    Maybe he’d like to join a team that might make a deeper run in the playoffs than the Colts.   And the Eagles are better.

This isn't meant towards you in particular, but I'm just getting sick of that excuse every time Ballard doesn't sign someone. It's a way to take all the blame off the GM for not getting any FA to sign here without anyone being able to prove otherwise unless there's a report on twitter that confirms it.

@richard pallo said we were more connected to Diggs, and I remember hearing that, but I'm starting to get a little nervous about the secondary. There has to be a follow up move to the draft. I realize besides the 1st round Ballard got caught on the wrong side of some CB runs, but if we decided to go away from the secondary and strengthen other positions, then we have to use FA to grab a veteran for the short term.

This post may age poorly in a few days, but right now, the secondary is a clear weakness that needs to be addressed, and although I trust Ballard in the draft, I don't trust him in FA, especially from what he said in the pre-draft conference where he likes the secondary. He may truly believe he doesn't need a veteran to strengthen that group of young players.

At this point, this is a rumor and ONLY a rumor.   Just saw a video on YouTube reported mostly as a rumor.   The reporter tried to imply this was going to happen.

To be clear….   NFL.com doesn’t have this, neither does ESPN.com.   So take this with a large grain of salt.

If true, this makes me upset. I loved the draft and didn't mind passing on the secondary early as long as we signed a veteran at CB or FS after the draft. This probably takes away the best option available if it happens. We extended Buckner and negotiated his contract, so we should have the available cap space to sign someone.
