  1. I agree with the general consensus.  My ideal scenario would be to trade down with a team that wants one of the top running backs, such as Green Bay, if Fournette and/or Dalvin Cook are on the board at 15. There will be a bunch of edge rushers that should go at the bottom of Round 1 or in Round 2 (before our second pick): Taco Charlton, Zach Cunningham, Charles Harris, Takkarist McKinley, Tim Williams, Carl Lawson, T.J. Watt.  At our second pick, there should be a good cornerback: Fabian Moreau, TreDavious White, Cordrea Tankersley, Teez Tabor, Chidobe Awuzie. If we could get an additional low second round pick, so much the better.   Without a trade, I would look for Derek Barnett or Haason Reddick at 15.

  2. IMHO Ryan Kelly will be available on our 2nd pick. If not, Nick Martin. And, depending on how you evaluate Jack Allen, we may be able to get a center in the 3rd round.  On the other hand, none of the top defensive players is likely to be there on Pick 48.  BPA when we select on Pick 18? 1. Ezekiel Elliott 2. Shaq Lawson 3. Mackenzie Alexander 4. Darron Lee 5. Reggie Ragland 6. Leonard Floyd. In some mock drafts, A'Shawn Robinson falls to us. I took Noah Spence off our board because I don't think Grigson would want him.

  3. Dustin is just being grumpy.  It's a new thing to praise the Colts' O-line. Denzelle had 4 penalties: a hold when he was beaten (for the one time in the game), a horse collar tackle (he has to work on his tackling), and two false starts. He played like, well, a rookie. But he dominated his opponent most of the game.  That's Good.

  4. On a cold rainy day, some idle speculation about possible division tie breakers in AFC South.

    Projection: Colts beat Bucs; Texans beat Saints; Texans lose to Bills and Patriots; Steelers beat Colts; Texans beat Colts; Colts beat Miami; Colts and Texans beat Jaguars and Titans;

    Texans 9-7; Colts 9-7

    Tie breakers

Head to Head: tie; Division Record tie; Common Games: tie; Conference Record: tie

5th Tie Breaker Strength of Victory: Colts: (Broncos 8-2, Falcons 6-4, Bucs 5-5, Miami 4-6); Texans:  (Bengals 8-2, Jets 5-5, Saints 4-6)

Colts win Strength of Victory tiebreaker.

So . . . we really want to win the Bucs game tomorrow. The Texans will want to beat the Bills on the road. Texans must beat Colts. We are rooting for Denver and Atlanta to get back on track. Jacksonville may have something to say about all this.

  5. I hardly think that was intentional. He was being grasped by the shoulder pads and had no clue who was grabbing him. If you've played football before you'd know what that's like, you really don't pay attention beneath you only whomever is grabbing you.

Hard to believe anyone could look at this play and think it was unintentional.  The body slam was actually the more likely to cause injury. Surge for some reason wants to see the body slam as Doyle pulling Miller down. My prediction is that Miller faces no fine or suspension, even though this incident led directly to Talib's eye poke. Some players, like Miller or the Patriots' Gronkowksi, do this stuff every game and get away with it because they are "stars."

  6. I think this is false.

All articles state he would serve the suspension if he signs with another team.

As posted by Steamboat_Shaun, (quoting Stephen Holder) Bradshaw's suspension is over.I had hoped when the Colts released Josh Johnson, they would sign Bradshaw, but they resigned Shaun Prater.

The Indianapolis Star reports the Colts have "some interest" in free agent Ahmad Bradshaw.
Bradshaw's one-game suspension is up, and he's reportedly 100 percent healthy after breaking his leg last November. The Colts have wildly little depth behind aging starter Frank Gore, and Bradshaw was highly effective before going down last season. A reunion would make a lot of sense.

  7. Both fan bases are convinced they will win.  Both have sneaking doubts. It should be a great game.  From the first offensive snap, the Colts fans will see if the offensive line is really in trouble.  The Bills will discover if their defense really is great, as they hope.  Can the Colt rookies on the D-line stop the run?  Is Tyrod Taylor the answer? We are all going to find out soon.

  8. I think it's a good sign that they think Parry is good enough to cut Chapman.

I agree also.  in the last pre-season game, Rick Venturi observed that both Hughes and Chapman were playing in the fourth quarter.  He thought it meant that the Colts would start Anderson and Parry against Buffalo.  In retrospect, it also was a last chance to save their jobs. My puzzlement is why our fans are not more enthusiastic about this.  We found two DL better than Hughes and Chapman!   I can't wait to see them next Sunday. Afer that game, Henry Anderson mentioned in an interview that he and Parry did not come here to sit on the bench and watch.

  9. That's in salary.     He'll get a very large signing bonus as well.

    Very, very large.

The 16M  ($16,155,000) number is the fifth year option for Luck as a 1st Round pick.  Luck is already signed for 2016.  After this year, the Colts will no doubt  re-sign him and possibly, as with Hilton, push some of the cap hit for his new contract to future years.  BTW, I still believe that Luck's total contract will be similar to Aaron Rodgers, not the 25M per year often quoted.  Luck will not want his contract to prevent the Colts from signing other players, such as Coby Fleener or Dwayne Allen.  He wants to win; he will be making a ton of money either way.
