  1. I want Andrew Norwell, Allen Robinson bad. Throw in Jordan Mathews on a 1 year prove it deal for the offense. Bring in Hitchens and Gaines on D and we're looking good entering the draft. Draft Chubb, Vander Esch, and Penny in RD's 1-3.

OL would be Castanzo - Norwell - Kelly - Mewhort - Haeg. Penny and Mack at RB. Robinson, Hilton, Mathews, Rogers at WR. Doyle at TE. A healthy Luck with that offense is scary. He'd have a dominant OL protecting him and a big time run game to give us a very balanced offense. Luck throwing to Robinson and Hilton would be lethal. And even though Mathews would be the number 3. He's a really good young WR who's had some nice years. I think Luck would really help him out a lot. He'd probably put up 600 yards or so. But again. number 3 option.

On D. We'd have a stud double digit sack machine in Chubb to go with Sheard, Simon, and Basham. Hankins, Woods, and Anderson gives us a really good interior. Hitchens and Vander Esch would be super sexy at 2 of the LB spots. Then in the secondary Melvin teamed up with Gaines, and Wilson/Hairston would give us a really good group of young CB's. Hooker in his 2nd year, roaming the field, picking off passes. Farley/Geathers at SS and we have a solid Safety duo as well.

  2. What does everyone think about this. He was a G for a couple years at Ohio State, and the kid is an absolute freak. He's big strong, physical, and athletic as heck for a O-Lineman. But for me, as far as 2nd RD options at Guard he'd be right there with Hernandez and/or Wynn. (I don't see 3 Guards going RD1. One will be there RD2 IMO) But I don't know who I'd take between him and Hernandez. I think he'd be a beast at Guard just like he would be at C. And I'm sure teams are looking at him as a G too. His injury isn't serious. He'll be back way before camp. But what is y'all's opinion of Price as a Guard ? I'm liking this idea a lot myself. Wouldn't mind at all seeing Price or Hernandez RD2 if we cant get Norwell in free agency.

  3.

A very different roster. We only re-sign a couple guys and let Mewhort and Crief go as well as vets like Butler and Gore. Then bring in an infusion of young talent in the draft and FA, and our roster is looking much better, good actually. We have a lot of money to spend. At east 77, maybe more. High draft picks. The ability to trade back a few spots if we want, still get a stud and add an extra 2 and 3 in the process. I'm just saying things are in our favor. Especially when you add to that a healthy 12 and we're a really good team winning 10-12 games. So here's my Mock for now......

    Re-Sign

Rashaan Melvin 3 years, 30 Million

Mike Person 1 year, 1 Million

Pierre Desir 2 years, 5 Million

    Free Agent Signings

Andrew Norwell 5 years, 70 Million (We need to make a major run at him and make him a Colt at all cost. He's young, and a top 3 Guard in the NFL)

Josh Sitton 2 years, 20 Million (He's 31, but Sitton is still a top tier Guard and IMO has 2-3 more great years left. He alongside Norwell gives us a monster O-Line)

Allen Robinson 4 years, 52 Million (Signing Robinson isn't really a risk. Players tear their ACL every year and come back the next these days. He's a top tier number 1 WR and only 24 years old. Robinson is a 6'3 height-weight-speed freak WR who can run past everybody and catch it over the top for a big play, go up and get the ball outta the air, he's a menace for defense's in the redzone, an absolute bringer of doom and destruction lol. The kid can do it all. We're talking about a WR1. And I've been wanting, and we've been needing a big 6'3 or 6'4 WR like him for a long time. Changes our Offense greatly.)

EJ Gaines 4 years, 44 Million (Emerged as a top tier CB this season. Young just entering his prime. He alongside Melvin, Wilson, and Hairston gives us a really good group of corners)

Anthony Hitchens 4 years, 24 Million (Really solid signing to start building a good young LB corps, Graded out as PFF's #20 LB in the NFL. Beast against the run)

Marcus Smith 1 year, 5 Million (Showed his potential last year in Seattle. He's still just 25 and could be a breakout player this season. At worst Smith provides depth at DE and a rotational pass rusher that can get to the QB)

    Draft

    1) Bradley Chubb - EDGE (YES !!!!! We finally get what we've been needing since Mathis got hurt. A freak EDGE rusher who's an all around player. Superstar caliber top 5 at his position type. Chubb IMO will be a double digit sack machine. Week 1 starter, IMO he gets around, or close to 10 sacks in his rookie season. Maybe more. Major impact right away IMO.

    2) Leighton Vander Esch - LB (Big, strong, and athletic. He's an all around baller. Sideline to Sideline LB. Great in coverage and vs the run. Solid blitzer too. This kid is going to be a superstar LB in the NFL.

    3) Rashaad Penny - RB (Penny finally gives us the feature back we've been needing. He alongside Mack would give us a dynamic rushing attack and they'd have a good OL to block for them. A stout RB like Penny would really take some pressure off Luck and give us a very balanced offensive attack.

    4) Tegray Scales - LB (Would be a steal in RD4 IMO and a good chance he's there when we're on the clock. But he's got great instincts, high football IQ, and a non stop motor. He's a tackling machine. and like Vander Esch is also a good blitzer when need be. Not that fast, but he's an all around LB who can match up with TE's. Very solid in coverage. He may not start week 1.But it'll become hard to keep him off the field IMO. I could see him taking over for Simon by the middle-end of the year.

    5) Antonio Calloway - WR (Y'all know I'm always big on "Stealing away talent" The players with red flags, off field crap that causes them to fall to the mid-late rounds. Basically zero risk, monster reward in each case. Its like this. I can get a 1st or 2nd RD talent in the 5th-6th ??? YES. sign me up every time. But assuming Calloway comes in and is cool we get a stud WR late in the draft. This kid has tons of talent and can be an animal out there at wide out. Just major potential here.

    6) Jaleel Scott - WR (We go back to back at WR. This time getting a big tall and long 6'4  target for 12. This kid has a lot of upside and a lot of potential.

    7) Domincik Sanders - S (We grab some quality depth at the Safety position with the Georiga product. He's got limitations, but really good ballskills. Could possibly be a gem in the late rounds. Will provide immediate help on special teams and depth at S.

    2018-2019 Roster

QB Andrew Luck / Jacoby Brissett

RB Rashaad Penny / Marlon Mack / Robert Turbin / Matt Jones

LT Anthony Castanzo / Le'Raven Clark

    LG Andrew Norwell /

C Ryan Kelly / Mike Person

RG Josh Sitton / Deyshawn Bond

RT Joe Haeg  / Denzell Good

    WR TY Hilton / UDFA

WR Allen Robinson / Jaleel Scott

WR Antonio Calloway / Chester Rogers

TE Jack Doyle / Erik Swoope / Ross Travis

DE Bradley Chubb / John Simon / Tarell Basham

DT Johnathan Hankins / Hassan Ridgeway

DT Al Woods / Henry Anderson / Grover Stewart

DE Jabaal Sheard / Marcus Smith

OLB Anthony Hitchens / Anthony Walker

MLB Leighton Vander Esch / Antonio Morrison

OLB John Simon / Tegray Scales

CB Rashaan Melvin / Pierre Desir / Kenny Moore

FS Malik Hooker / Domincik Sanders

SS Mathias Farley / Clayton Geathers / TJ Green

CB EJ Gaines / Quincy Wilson / Nate Hairston

We overturn the roster. Easily a 10-12 win team. We finally fix and give Luck a great OL to protect him. Should lead to him being more comfortable, with way fewer INT's as we know he likes to hold onto the ball at times. He'll have Hilton, Robinson, and Calloway at WR plus Doyle at TE. That's just scary Then add in we finally have a stud RB. A Feature back to pair with a 2nd year Marlo Mack. On Defense we switch to the 4-3. We will have the best Defense we've had in the Luck era obviously. We should have a top half D. We finally have that stud game wrecking, machine EDGE rusher in Chubb. Hitchens and LVE gives us a really good LB duo. Pair them with one of Simon/Scales and our front 7 is looking very, very good. Then the secondary gets a boost with EJ Gaines at CB. He should pair up with Melvin and one of Wilson/Hairston to give us a really solid CB trio. We have some 2nd and 3rd year players should take big steps forward. We should have a big time breakout player or 2 with guys like Kelly, Hooker, Wilson, Hairston, Then. My boy Mathias Farley who was really, really good last year and could become known as a top tier SS this season. Then maybe Anderson, Ridgeway, or Geathers is a breakout player. But all and all we should have a top 5 offense and a very good top 15 D with some big time young play makers brought in.

Keep in mind that they finally have a great GM in there with John Dorsey. As long as they let him do his thing, they may just become a relevant team again.

They went into this with 12 draft picks this year, which is a lot of draft capital. The Taylor move is actually a really good one as it allows them a ton of flexibility at the top of the draft. They can safely take Barkley at one without worrying about who they can get at QB. If their guy is there at 4, awesome. If not, they've got insurance and aren't forced to reach.

Its not reaching when they have a major need for a star franchise QB, and they can get that QB with the 1st pick, I mean. I cant say how they view Sam Darnold, Obviously, but IMO he's not only the best QB in this class. (A good QB class I'll add.) But he also has the highest ceiling. Right there with Josh Allen, and he IMO will be a star, franchise QB. That's not easy to find. Obviously they haven't had much luck with it LOL. I just cant understand why they'd be so cool about or feel safe about taking Barkley 1, when Darnold will most likely be taken by the NYG at 2, they also would have to risk us trading back with one of the Jets, Broncos, etc. So that means both Darnold and Allen would be off the board at 4. To me they have to take a QB 1 overall if they want their big time franchise QB. If they don't get one of Allen or Darnold they'll be screwing themselves big time. With talent they have one of those 2 could be the franchise QB they've been lacking forever, and they would actually become a good team. But I mean they may have full intentions of going Darnold or Allen 1. IDK. But taking Barkley and then hoping one of the QB's is there at 4 isn't the best move to make when there's a couple big time, team changing signal callers in this draft. It just wouldn't make sense to me. But JMO.

Having TT although not ideal is better than not having a Starting Caliber QB at all

They have the 1st overall AND 4th overall picks in a really good QB class. And I could just as easily be wrong. Prolly am about half these kids lol. but this is.... IMO.. This is how I see this years QB class.

Darnold is the main man. He's a superstar. Prototypical franchise QB. I see him being a big time top 5-6ish QB in the NFL in a couple or three years.

Yes Josh Allen is a major boom or bust type, but if he's a boom (He will be IMO) he'll be an absolute beast right there with Darnold. Cannon of an arm. But yeah Boom/Bust... I think he puts it all together and explodes. Top 12ish QB in a couple years.

Mayfield, I don't think he'll ever be Drew Brees, but I think he will be a good NFL QB or at least above average. He's a very, very accurate passer and had rather set himself on fire than to lose a game. We all know he's a super competitor. A kid you wouldn't bet against you know. But in saying that I think Baker winds up being a good starting QB, but not great and no superstar.

Josh Rosen. Hell no. The kid seems like a sissy first of all. Second he's got bust written across his forehead. He may look the part, but he's not got the ability to be a star QB. That's JMO. I know a lot disagree.

Lamar Jackson. No, not at all. He can run. He's fast and athletic and he's explosive. That's it. And LMAO did you see a couple weeks ago Mike Vick told ESPN Jackson was just like him but better ? LOL He's definitely not the kid man. Mike Vick was something special.

    Oh yeah...And the there's Mason lmao ......

I see Tyrod Taylor as a solid QB1. I think this means the Browns are going Barkley at 1 and if their QB is there at 4, they get him and can let him sit behind Taylor. If he's not there or if they have too good of a trade offer to refuse, they still have Taylor.

I'm actually impressed with the Browns' offense on paper:

    QB: Taylor

    RB: Barkley (most likely)

    WR: Gordon, Coleman, and Landry

    TE: Njoku

I see Landry getting a lot of action with Taylor at QB, but you also have the speed of Coleman and Gordon on the outside. They may really surprise some people this year...

** Note: I'm a bit of a homer for Taylor, as he's from my area and was supposed to play QB at my old high school before moving a few cities over.

Put Taylor on the most loaded and complete roster in the NFL and they still wouldn't win a SB in the next 5 years. Or IMO even be a top 5 team

  7. I mean. Yeah its the Browns. And the Browns are ridiculously stupid. But if this is their plan at QB, then they've taken things to a whole different level of ignorance. Tyrod is a decent NFL QB. He's no star, franchise QB though. Screw the mentality of a decent QB who passes the ball 15-20 times a game, but has a great RB who carries it 35 times a game, and in take carries the whole offense. I hate that. Cleveland has a lot of talent up and down their roster. They need Sam Darnold. He's gonna be the best QB from this class IMO. He's the prototypical franchise QB who has all pro potential. JMO.

would you want Wilkerson over Richardson? what about Poe?

I'd take either one of them over Poe all day long. Between the 2 its hard to say. Flip a coin lol. Wilkerson is going to be his old self when he's on a new team next year, but I'd still go with Richardson if made choose.

  9. Heck no. No unless its a 1year deal worth no more than 6 Million. which isn't gonna happen. He should've already been to a couple pro bowls and be getting over 1,000 yards every year. We need to sign Allen Robinson first. He has to be our top priority at WR. He's a number 1 type WR entering his 5th season at OLY 24 !!!! He's gonna be a star over the next 5-6 years. Then maybe a guy like Jaron Brown or Ryan Grant who wouldn't be too expensive.

    Fair question.....

I guess it depends on where Hankins plays.     Some might see his size and think he's the NT.

But I think Hankins sees himself at the 3-tech and someone else playing the Nose.

So....   if this is the case,  then maybe it's Al Woods?     He quietly had a pretty decent year.

Or perhaps 2nd year player George Stewart.    Think he's the biggest guy on the roster.

But if it's Hankins on the nose,  then it could be Hassan Ridgeway....     could be Henry Anderson...   they could be the 3-tech next to a bigger nose.....

Lots of options.     It'll be interesting to see if we sign any free agent DL that might impact this decision.......

I'd love to see Richardson or Wilkerson, but considering DT is actually one of our stronger areas and all the other holes we have to fill I don't see it happening.

  11. I'm a big great pass rush along with shutdown corners creates a very god D. As are a lot of people. But do you guys realize just how good our D could be by bringing back Melvin. Then signing one of Malcolm Butler or EJ Gaines at CB. Drafting Chubb, who IMO is a day 1 game wrecking fool. 10 or more sacks, all over ESPN (LOL) in year 1 type superstar. Something similar to what Bosa did a couple years ago. But yeah so Sheard (who should be a better pass rusher in the 4-3) should give us 8-10 sacks. Simon but I almost think he starts at OLB and is used in a variety of ways but still a lot of opportunities to rush. Then Basham's improvement in year 2. And he should be better in the 4-3. Who knows what he'll do but I'm expecting a good step forward at least. Plus whoever else we sign/draft. I'd say we bring in another EDGE rusher besides just drafting Chubb.

But to sum it up. Melvin and signing Butler or EJ Gaines and then drafting Chubb gives us a really good pass rush and a really good group of corner's. AKA. A really good pass rush and shutdown corners. We should see a MUCH better defense next season. Like night and day.

  12. Just wondering what some posters thought about this ? Figured it's a good conversation. There's several possibilities and I'm gonna throw em all out there then speak my peace on the subject So yeah. Woods and Anderson most logical choices. OR. Maybe Ridgeway reaches his potential and breaks out ? He's super talented. I loved that pick and thought he could end up being one of, if not the best DT in that class. And like many other players. Could he be a better fit and thrive in the 4 man front ? Or the opposite ? We have no clue what Stewart will be. I'm not sold on him, but I may be wrong and he may be a breakout player. OK. So then there's the FA route. Several big time DT's on the market and 1-2 pretty good ones. But Wilkerson, Richardson, Poe, Logan, Lotulelei mainly. Kyle Williams is like 35 so yeah. Then there's the unknown situation of Nick Fairley. If he's able to play I'd snatch him up in a second for a cheap 1 year deal. But who knows if he's gonna be able to play again. Then there's the most unlikely possibility of us using a high pick and getting our guy in the 2nd-3rd. There's week 1 starting DT's available every year in the 2nd. Sometimes the 3rd, but I STRONGLY doubt we draft a DT before the 4th unless there's a guy who we just cant pass on in RD2. Tavin Bryan would be hard to pass up in RD2. He's a top 25 talent and has all pro potential IMO. But lastly. Yeah. Sure a trade is possible, but yeah. No. But anyways. Al Woods was just awesome last year. He came here and balled out. Best year of his career. Henry Anderson was also pretty good. He also got injured again. He still hasn't reached that superstar level DT that myself and several others were thinking he would reach after he was just brilliant in his rookie season, but he's still been good, and he still has the potential to become that monster. He's just 26, and entering his 4th season. Had the ACL injury that set his development back. But how does he look in a 4-3 ? I don't know to be honest, and really all anyone can do is guess. I still have high hopes and expectations. He just looked destined to become a pro bowl caliber player his rookie year.

But my opinion on who starts next to big Hank. My guess is Al Woods. At least to start out with. Unless Anderson or possibly Ridgeway comes in and just absolutely dominates in camp and preseason. If Woods isn't the same player as last year then Anderson or possibly Ridge takes over. but I think Hankins and Woods are going to be tough as nails in the middle. stuffing the run. And btw. Put Chubb at DE and all of the sudden we have a very good DL. But yeah Hankins could/should be even better as he'll be back in his comfort zone that is the 43. If Anderson can stay healthy and be as productive in a 43 we basically have 3 really good starting caliber DT's. But my guess on the DT's we have on the final 53 week 1..... I'd say we roll with Hankins, Woods, Anderson, Ridgeway, and Stewart as our DT's and address DT in the 2019 draft baring something beautiful like a combo Anderson and Ridgeway breakout campaign lol.

  13. Can someone tell me why so may posters are fine with us ONLY re-signing Melvin and not anther top tier corner ? Melvin was a freaking revelation last season. I mean he was great. I love the guy. And I hated him before this past season lmao ... And I think he's here to stay. As in how well he played. I think he's just like many other players. It just took him a few years to put it together. But yeah. I mean in a perfect scenario we could take that chance only re-sign Melvin. Then Quincy Wilson ball out, breaks out and becomes a beast, as well as Hairston becoming a very good nickel CB. But with the cap rom we have why take that chance ? I don't want 1 really good CB, and 2 average ones. We need to bring in Butler or EJ Gaines who is pretty underrated btw. Melvin, Gaines, Wilson, and Hairston gives us a great group of young CB's, and really solid depth.

Dee has been a 3-4 OLB....

    I think he's way too small to be a 4-3 DE....    he's listed at 6'2" and 252.

For what it's worth,   these are his sack totals for his four years...

    1.5,  4.0,  10.0 and.....  2.

    That's it.

I definitely see where you're coming from. But I've always really like Dee first of all. All the way back to his Auburn days. And I think personally its much easier for an EDGE rusher to move from a 34 to a 43. Especially pure pass rushers as that becomes basically their main job. Rushing the QB. So I don't really think that'd be an issue for him. I wouldn't worry about his size either, but just my opinions. You could make very valid arguments either way. But with that being said. Its a moot point. LOL. He's not even going to be a FA from what I understand, and also. Absolutely no way do I see KC letting him go unless they get offered a crazy deal. Even with his injury issues, and lack of production in all but year 3. I'm sure they want that Houston-Ford combo for the next several years. Ford has shown he can get after the QB with 10 sacks in his 3rd year, and I think he is one the list of players that could be breakout types in the 18-19 season.

  15. 11 minutes ago, IndyScribe said:

He'd beef up the secondary but would we really want him? There are better options on the market(Johnson, Fuller), if we don't re-sign Melvin, and it's hard to say how much of his benching is on himself or Belichick.

Not many mention Kyle Fuller. He's a really good young CB who would fit us perfectly. The only thing is the injury issues. If not for that he'd be one of the bigger names on the market.

  16. 2 minutes ago, IndyScribe said:

Colts don't need both. I doubt Robinson leaves the Jags.

We need that big 6'3 number 1 type. You're right. We don't need both, but we have to cap room to do it. Hilton, Robinson, and Landry with Luck at QB gives us a top 3 offense prolly the best. But I'd love Robinson and some other cheaper receiver.. John Brown maybe. Or a vet like Amendola or Maclin etc. As for the draft there's some solid WR's that's gonna go RD's 3-5 and some gems, but I don't like this class of WR's at all.

  17. 30 minutes ago, TYtheGHOST said:

What if those guys get injured and we have no cap space? Who do we sign then?

What if we draft Jonathan Cooper 2.0 ? Or worse. Chance Warmack 2.0 ? Honestly the best G's are usually found in RD's 2-3. How many Zach Martin's have been taken in RD1 the last 5-6 years ? Him. A bunch of busts/backups, and a few solid, good starters.....But not top 5 or top 10 at their position types like you expect out of a 1stRD player. With kids like Kyle Long, Justin Pugh, etc. But Who's more likely to come in and dominate from day 1 on ? A couple rookie draft picks ? Or 2 all pro free agents, and an ascending young talent like Cam Fleming ? Yeah sure Nelson may be Martin meets Osemele meets Yanda NFL skill wise, but that's no guarantee, I do not wanna take that chance when we can sign a couple All Pro's, and we have the 3rd freaking pick in RD1. Basically 2 1st RD picks considering we're picking 35th overall as well, and considering they'll be 4 QB's taken, and a handful of O-Linemen. We can get 2 superstars with those picks, True elite, difference making playmaking fools, True day 1 starters on D. Like a Khalil Mack (Yes Chubb is a different style EDGE rusher but still, yall get the point) and then our version of a Bobby Wagner in RD2. Then our own version of a Kamara, Hunt, etc in RD3 in this pretty deep RB class. We cant really sign Mack, Wagner, and Hunt in free agency. We can sign a couple All Pro Guards.

  18. Luck will have no worries with this line. And guys like AC will be way better playing next to an All Pro like AN.

Castanzo - Norwell - Kelly - Sitton - Fleming.............Haeg / Good / Person / 4-5th RD pick or, Clark, maybe Clark comes out balling and shows out putting Good on the bubble or vice versa.. Haeg gives us a Reitz esk swing tackle who can play 4 spots. He should be much improved. Person looked like a solid backup C, Good ??? Who knows. He's shown flashes, he, Clark, and a mid RD pick or 2 would battle it out for 2 spots. But I think, with everybody healthy that'd easily be a top 5 OL. AC is a top 10 LT who should have his best years playing alongside Norwell. Kelly in his 3rd year should be ready to become a top 5ish Center, and would benefit greatly by having Norwell and Sitton on each side. Sitton will be like 31-32 ? So maybe replace him with Josh Kline who is a really solid young G. Not an all pro as of now, but a very solid above average G. I'd say Sitton has another year or 2 left so bring him in and lets have a superstar OL. Draft Sitton's replacement next year when we have fewer holes. Now Fleming could be one of the steals of this class. He's played well as a part time starter, and coming to a new team to be "The Man" would probably benefit him greatly. I think he's got enormous potential. He's a young, ascending player. And yeah LOL. My Opinion is he.... Possibly........POSSIBLY has top 5ish RT ability. I think that line is top 5. Maybe tops in the league. Or maybe replace Sitton with Kline as Kline is a couple years younger, but I think we'd get 2 great years outta Sitton. Give me 2 great years from him and we can like I stated above draft his replacement next year in the 2-3rd, groom him. Let him start year 2. Put 12 behind that line he's gonna be smirking. Then add a feature RB in RD 2 or 3 and Luck will straight up be laughing like Beavis and Butthead.
