We get a 1st rounder + if he is tag and traded. So yes a "potential" 3rd round comp pick in 2025(not even a guarantee), is it is pretty much nothing compared to that. Could end up being nothing completely, if we signed a comparable guy and it cancels Pittman leaving out. Which would be a really good possibility if we let him walk.

getting that 1st round pick is only if another team is willing to give it up and I think that chance is pretty close to zero.

    I think so.

that’s why I never liked giving new contracts before the old one expires unless it is for a big discount. The colts didn’t do that with Shaq or Richardson. Anything can happen in a year to a football player and most are bad and would favor the owner in negotiations. I mean, it is a business and has a hard salary cap rule.

Odds are,  Irsay is making most decisions working with Ballard.

yes, but he has final say on any financial decisions, like all owners.

What does that have to do with you? It is his team. It is not your team. He is an owner, not an employee. Lots of owners have issues. They hire people to make decisions for them.

I am in titled to my opinion just like you are anyone else regarding the colts operation.

It's an addiction. It is personal to him. What he does should not be a reflection on the fans or on the team.

but he is making team decisions. Wouldn’t that affect his judgement? Would you want a lawyer defending you that was an addict that was in rehab 15 times? Or any other job, pilot, doctor, surgeon, etc…

I’m 100% supportive of Irsay and I hope he gets better. History tells me otherwise. , Jim Irsays drug issues aren’t going to affect my life. I just hope he’s not making any important decisions

that is the only issue that matters to me. As an active owner, he is making contract decisions and probably some input in player decisions. I don’t think it’s a stretch to think that a addict doesn’t always make good decisions.

They could 100% use that superstar like Freeney or Mathis was but other than QB that’s probably the hardest thing to find in football.

both of them were great pass rushers, but were terrible against the run. How many times did they get pushed upfield by the tackle with one hand because they went for the outside speed rush and then the tackle was free to take out a lb for big runs. That used to drive me crazy. Probably one of the reasons the colts didn’t win more super bowls with manning.

  8. Moss isn’t coming back, why should he. Once Richardson got that contract, the colts were going to give him all the carries. I didn’t like giving him that big contract, so I would love to trade him for a first this year or next plus and sign moss saving a lot of money. He was the nfl leading rusher until Richardson started taking his playing time.

sign Stewart for a reasonable contract. I think his suspension will hurt him as a free agent, the risk of it happening again.

trade Franklin for what ever the colts can get and draft two lb’s. This is the biggest need and has been for years!!

I think the secondary and dl are ok. Lb upgrade and a more aggressive defense would help the most.

i don’t want to pay Pittman top money. If he walks, draft a wr. I’m one of the few pierce supporters here. The te’s haven’t showed me much and would get rid of most of them and sign or draft one that’s can block and catch.

O-line is ok, just some depth.

i have seen enough of minshew. Ether draft a qb mid rounds, sign a free agent that will actually throw the ball down field and is mobile, and see what Ehlinger has or dump him if he isn’t good enough.

A lot of people here are saying you have to get top offensive players for your young qb. I think if you really have a top qb, he will make all the players better. Did jc stroud have to have top players brought in to make him a success? No!! He made them better. That’s what happens if you have a top qb. Richardson will make the current colts players look a lot better if he is that top qb the team and most here think he is.

I hope they keep Minshew but I wouldn’t be shocked if they go with Sam.  They have been grooming him to be the backup and next year is the last year of his contract.

I think the colts had a good season in spite of minshew. Ehlinger has been with the colts for a while, so they must see something in him. It’s time to ether make him the backup or move on. Wouldn’t he be better in the rpo that minshew? He is a better runner. I don’t want to have another year if Richardson gets hurt with a qb that won’t throw down field. That just won’t get the colts to the playoffs! I would draft a qb that falls for some reason in the middle rounds and maybe you get lucky.

  10. Irsay will probably pay him too much like he has done for many colts players that fans, like him, like. Let’s see what other teams offer, I wouldn’t pay him close to top wr money. Having a top receiver is over rated, a top qb will make a receiver more than a receiver will make a qb. If you have a top qb, you don’t need the top wr, and if you don’t have the top qb, you aren’t winning anyway.

    They've been open all year.

Pierce gets behind the defense quite a bit. Gardner is basically a "check down Charlie" type of QB who is getting rid of the ball first chance he gets 90% of the time. Its hard for Alec to look good with a QB like that.

People dont like hearing it, but its true. This is why Ballard isnt gonna worry about the WR position that much this offseason, nor should he. He might add somebody to the mix but we have 3 good young talents at WR. Pierce just needs to develop  a little more and be more of a focus. I have zero doubt about Downs and Pittman.

I think they focus on defense in the draft.

exactly what I have been saying most of the year! Lb is by far the weakest defensive position and hope the colts draft 2 in the upper rounds. I like speed and think Harrison can be that passing down lb. Harrison could cover the te and allow for more blitzes.

QBs don’t use shorter time to throw against the Colts than anyone else.

Week 2 Stroud had a TTT of 2.69. We had 28 total pressures.

Week 18 Stroud had a TTT of 2.85. We had 12 total pressures.

I watched the first game on tv just before the game started and the the colts blitzed a lot more than they did the last game. Makes you wonder why the colts didn’t follow the same defensive game plan.

just curious, how many of y'all also think Zaire Franklin is overrated as a LB?

I think part of it, is that the media loves talking to him because of the type of answers they get so they like to hype him up.

I have been saying this for a long time, and have said it years ago about past colts lb’s that piled up a lot of meaningless tackles. Every time I was blasted here by almost everyone. I was right about them, and I think I will be right about him.

  14. Everyone saying the colts have to draft a top pass rushing end like it’s easy. There are probably more top qb’s and a better chance of success wit them than getting a top rush end. The colts have other more pressing needs that don’t have all that risk. The d-line is the strongest part of the defense.

Top tier ends don’t make it to free agency.

unless they are on the downswing or have a injury, and I am passing on both!
