  1. While all this needs assessment makes for interesting exchanges, it's all meaningless.  Grigson will continue seeing this team through his prism and that has been reinforced with a 4 year award. So strap yourselves in for more

    Grigson mischief.

  2. Anyone that says Grigson is a good draft GM is out of touch.  Luck & Hilton are SB caliber players.  After that he has not drafted anyone who even comes close to that talent level.  Add to that T-Rich, Werner & Dorsett (instead of a stud lineman) and you have it for #1 in the last 3 drafts.  Add to that in ONE YEAR his FA signings have made the Colts the OLDEST team in the NFL.... in ONE YEAR!   He wasted cap money which we had in abundance on a bunch of over the hill retreads, one of whom was just released (Herrmans, his answer to our O-Line needs). I hold him accountable for Luck's physical issues. I like  Pagano a lot, not the best of coaches but Bellichik, Lombardi, or any coach you can name could not have done any better with the talent Grigson put  on the field.  HE HAS TO GO or we are doomed to a future of bad decisions.

  3. Grigson is solely responsible for the following:

    1. In 1 year he made this team the OLDEST team in the NFL!

    2. He wasted most of the cap money we had on a bunch of re-treads, one of whom was just cut and the others won't be here in 2years or less.  So much for building for the future,

3, He hit some home runs with TY and Luck and maybe Dorsett, although the Dorsett choice did not address the real needs of the team. Not to mention TRich & Werner are total busts.

    4.  In the 3 years he has been here, the defense has ranked near the bottom of the NFL rankings,

The team has to be rebuilt and Grigson has demonstrated a lack of a vision or capability to identify the real  needs of the team.

I'm a bit torn on firing Pagano or not really. On one hand I believe he has failed in making in game adjustments repeatedly and taken some unnecessary risks in games and....I also think the dinner Irsay had with Bill Cowher was more then just a hey how ya doing, how's the family been get together. On the other hand players really love the coach overall and the team does lack talent.

The biggest red flag against Grigson is the O Line is not in place at least at Center and maybe not at RG or RT. On the other hand some of our blocking assignments are overly complicated and I don't think Joe Gilbert preaches fundamentals or teaches them...Our O Linemen across the board sure don't show it very often. People can nail Grigson for the Werner pick but I tend to nail him for quitting on Werner after his first year starting and seeing the majority of the snaps...He did have 4 sacks his first year as a starter...I think Grigson was behind benching him or supported it at the least. Not that I think Werner is a good pass rusher because right now he clearly is not but he is not learning getting only 138 snaps on the season to date and benching your 1st round pick after 1 year of starting is most often just straight silly. Then of course he has trading a 1st round pick for a RB debacle.

Overall I think we as fans will be right here having the same kind of conversation about Grigson as we have with Pagano this year with a few tweaks in narrative

  5. Good grief everyone, can't you see what Grigson has done to this team in 3 short years?  We went from one of the youngest teams in the league to THE OLDEST TEAM IN THE NFL!!!!.   Except for a very few Free Agent signings, his have been retreads over 32 years old.  He traded a #1 for T-Rich, he drafted Bjorn Woerner and  Dorsett when the crying need was to protect Luck at all costs.  Three years ago we had the top three cap dollars available, we are now close to the lowest.  So you can talk about playbooks, rekindling fires, game plans all you want, we don't have the talent level to get us to the play-offs and that all is on Grigson.

  6. Sorry but the nucleus is not there.  You have no offensive line compounded by a GM who drafts a wide receiver and signs a FA offensive lineman who just got waived. You have no good coaching.  You have no decent running backs.  You have a QB who has to make up for all that lack of nucleus with high risk play calling all of which results in him being injured.   We have decent but not great tight ends and a couple of quality receivers, that's it.

This is pretty sad to say but this appears to be the truth.

There is no spark in the offense  of late it seems to be 11+ guys going in frantically different directions.  It's basically rudderless and that is really unfortunate because of the good nucleus that we have in place right now.

I hope the next coach can rekindle the fire that made this team great and to bring back what should have been a prolific offense this season

  8. ColtStronger, you got it right.  Grigson has wasted cap money on a bunch of re-treads, e.g Herremans, Francois,Johnson, Cole, he has made bad, bad draft choices, e.g. T-Rich, B Werner, Dorsett instead of an O or D linemen.  He has to go if we have any chance of exploiting the talent that we do have because he just is out of touch with the real needs of the team.

  9. Just think about this between Manning & Luck we may end up with one SB win.  Why?  Defenses win SBs, pure & simple.  We won one because at the end of the season the D just jelled and picked up their level of play.

Best defensive player on the field last night was our goal post.  Why didn't we draft it instead of Dorsett?

  10. Anyone who thinks Grigson has done a good job in signing FA's, drafts or managing the cap misses the following FACTS:

    1.  In one year he has made the Colts the oldest team in the NFL.  So much for building any kind of sustainable core of SB caliber players

    2.  Our cap two years ago was among the top three in the NFL.  We are now down near the bottom.  Can you say Andre Johnson, Laron Landry, Ricky Jean Francois, ?

    3. Two of our last three number one draft choices include T-Rich & Bjorn Werner.

    4.  Because he did not understand the real need to protect Luck, his last number one was a receiver.

Please, can we stop apologizing for or defending this inexperienced and clueless GM once and for all?  I hope we go all the way but I see us winning ugly all the way to the play-offs

and then getting knocked out early.
