  1. Is Irsay becoming Steinbrenner of 1970's Yankees? Everyday new stories that make ones head spin; He says (so media reports) of drafting Luck, then not drafting Luck, Archie says Manning to play, and then unsure if will play again, who's coming as GM, who is turning down GM spot, and of course the issue of Caldwell going or not. Cannot recall an off season like this, except whe Irsay's father and Rossenbloom switched teams.

And how many championships did the yankees win under George Steinbrenner? I think JI is acting like any human would. I like his gusto!

  2. In every single drafting scenario, the #1 pick plays. Please name the last one who didn't start.

Aaron Rodgers was drafted in the late 20's on a team that had a HOF QB that still had a few years to go.

    Completely different situation.

I dont think the Colts situation is very different due to the bizzare year we have had. Besides we get a # 1 with a HOF QB that might still have a few years to go.

  3. This is one really good question. I have always been and will always be a Colts fan (since 1969). BUT......... I have grown to almost like manning more than my team loyalty. I think I would follow peyton and root for him over the colts if for example the colts played a peyton led team...... Except if it was the Jets, then he's dead to me.

I mean this, if they trade him then it becomes that story of "can he revive his career". I would root for a comeback story over a team that abandond a player that put thier town on the map. If Peyton never existed, how many people would even know the Colts existed. Not many.

  4. I also believe that we will draft Andrew Luck with the first pick. This contributes to my reasoning as well.

The only way Luck gets better is to play. He will be the QB of the future.

Sitting him, will only delay his progress.

    Again...... I hope im wrong.

Didnt seem to hurt Arron Rodgers. While I agree somewhat with you, what if lucks a bust? I say bench him to learn and if he doesnt cut the mustard, release him then.

  5. I also just did mostly best case scenario. Freeney and Clark HAVE to restructure, otherwise I don't see them back. And if Garcon is wanting real money, well he'd be gone too. And if Peyton isn't here, Saturday wont be here.

    QB: Luck

    T: Constanzo

    G:?

    C:?

    G:Illijana?

    T:?

    WR:?

    WR:?

    WR: Collie

    TE: Tamme?

    DE:Anderson

    DT:Nevis

    DT:Mola:

    DE:Freeney

    LB:Sims

    MLB:Angerer

    OLB:Conner/Wheeler

    CB:Powers (can he stay healthy?)

    CB:?

    FS: Bethea

    SS:?

    That looks ALOT more terrifying.

so you see Luck at QB being our best case senario? Peyton isnt part of our "best case"?

  6. i think we are still playing our cover 2. the one thing i did notice is he is mixing it up a little bit,. he would have his cb off the receivers like we usually would, then switch to a more of pressing the wr(still using cover 2). and last game he wwas really going man to man a lot of times, but i think thats cause he knew the texans were not passing at all.

Also looked like he tried to eliminate the Colts dismall performance on that stupid 9 yard check down that EVERY team used on us for yards. Sooooo many teams burned us on that.

  7. Well, he spent most of his shows earlier this year blaming everything on the defense. Without actually naming anybody, you could tell that he was going to scapegoat Larry Coyer before the year was over with. He often used the word "baffled" when describing how bad the defense was.

So it's only natural for him to praise everything the D does from here on out. He made a change to what he kept saying was the problem, so he's going to act like they are 100 percent improved for the rest of year. I don't care if they give up scores on the first 3 series and are in a 17-0 hole right off the bat, he's going to say they were great. It's Polian, thats how he works.

According to him tonight, the thing that needs improving is our punting game. Yes, thats really what he said.

Is this a joke thread? Ok fellas you got me.

  8. Peyton sells tickets better than any one else. Does the boss give that up for a possible future replacement? Thats the question. Nothing else. Who will fill the seats. PM does now,but.....

I'm for keeping Peyton. Thats the smart move. Luck is an unknown. I'll buy tickets to see PM, Airfare from NY and hotel rooms, etc, etc. I wont spend $$$$ for a "rebuilding phase". Only corporations have $$ for that. And if they suck for years to come, even the Corporates leave.

Pleanty of time left to find the next QB. IF PM's healthy. Reality!

  9. Even if Manning comes back I'm not confident he will play that long. We need our franchise QB of the future.

I hear ya, but I have soooo many unanswered questions. For example, could PM take THIS Colts team to the playoffs? Was it JUST him that brought us the promised land for all those years. I need those questions answered. Even if we suck for years after, I NEED 2~3 more Peyton years.........please!
