Brissett, has thrown a pick 6 in every game he has played in...not to mention the fumbles for 6 points…I was sitting in the sport bar when the game went into overtime, I was sitting with 6 49er’s fans..and first thing I said was Brissett, has not  thrown his pick 6 or a fumble for 6 point yet,  and as soon as I said that, he throws and interception in the enzone… Brissett is here because Andrew is not coming back this season..

I mean, you are certainly entitled to your own thoughts on this, labored though they seem..... but please forgive me for not fully grasping what Brissett's interception and fumble numbers in 4 weeks of a new team, have to do whatsoever with when Luck comes back?  You are correct to observe Brissett has tendencies right now to turn the ball over a time or two each week, this is true.  The confusing part is you then seem to use that information to prop up your argument that Brissett is here because Luck is done for the season.  These seem like two separately cogent topics..... rather than one contiguous explanation.

So you are just assuming he has been throwing based on a speculation of what a rehab regiment would be?

If not where is the "official" word on Luck throwing a football?

It's "Regimen"  rehab regimen.  Also, relax is spelled R-E-L-A-X.  Saturdays have some darn fine football action if you aren't into Luck-less Colts games, or the fall weather is lovely to take in.  It'll all sort itself out soon, just try and be patient.

He can't. Brissett played fine under the circumstances, but c'mon. They - Luck and him - are in a different league. In every aspect of their game, Luck is lightyearsh ahead. And no, Brissett does NOT have all the talent to beat Luck. Not even close. He is a fine backup, maybe we can shop him for a pick some times in the future, but that's it. (I wouldn't force to trade him, unless there is a crazy GM out who willing to give a 2nd rounder or stg. He is most useful for the Colts as a cheap, quality backup, because his style is similar to Luck's, so he can play from Luck's playbook, he does not need his own.)

lightyearSH?  Chuck, is that you?!?!?   You saw the Kevin Durant story on alt. profiles right!?

I wouldn't blame him, but I would lose some respect for him, just like I lost respect for Eli when he got drafted.

One of the things that will always put Peyton over Eli in my book is that Peyton EMBRACED the challenge of picking up a doormat and turning it into a banner.

I mean, Peyton was coming to a team with a HOF front office, stud left tackle, and Faulk in his prime..... vs. Eli drafted by a joke of a SD front office who is STILL a pain for players to deal with to this day.....

I don't have a problem believing this is all true. I'm not surprised at all with what his agent had said. What else would we expect him to say? It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Andrew playing for the 49ers next season.

Because the Colts want to trade Luck for what exactly that is remotely worth eating his whole signing bonus against the cap when traded, so that the 9'ers get him at a huge discount?  they'd have him at like 18 million next year, while the colts would be saddled with over 19 million in accellerated bonus money for whatever crap players and picks they got?  Sure, I guess those are reasons not to be surprised one bit if Luck got traded to San Fran..... lol

Rick Venturi on Dakich now, says in his gut he does believe there are some problems here. Maybe not to the extent that Greenberg is saying, but not totally off base.

sucks I missed what Rick had to say......  I'm going to go with, maybe Luck wants a coaching change..... seems plausible he doesn't want to play another game for Chuck et al, moreso than he is done with the Colts.....  I mean, he's not gonna retire, so it's easier to force a coaching change than a team change in today's NFL

They didn't put Manning on IR because they weren't expecting the setback that occurred with him. They also thought Luck had a shot at the end of the season back in 15'. Entirely difference circumstances here where everyone was preaching that Luck would return at some point early this season.

Luck still could return at some point early this season, it's midweek, week 2......

  8. Hell, Luck sitting all year and us pulling a San Antonio Spurs lost season with injured Admiral, and ending up with a * talent bump because of it, may be best case scenario...... not popular or fun short-term,  but looks what you can get for a QB hungry team when you trade high picks and there are guys like Darnold potentially, and Rosen coming out......  Look what was traded for RG3......  I'd sit through a rough year if I thought I could get that kind of haul.....   and a healthy luck, along with a new coaching staff to start season 2 of my GM tenure....

If anything this is a good thread, to quell the fears. Not sure why anybody would call for this to be locked.

That's what I was hoping this thread would be a good depository for...... now, I personally don't see why Luck or anyone in his "camp"  would wait until the start of the season to make a stink about this, even if they were truly unhappy about how his injuries and playing time were handled....

This is why I hate social media, you can completely make something up and make it a "rumor" and talk about it to a national audience.

The sad part is that the team is in such a position where the plausibility of it would make sense, but I would bet everything that it is not.

I even doubt that Andrew has "people" lol. The "was forced to play injured" thing is total nonsense. Andrew is the one who wanted to play through it. He opted not to have surgery prior to 2016 and chose to play in the meaningless Jacksonville game. Now if you want to argue that the team should step in and protect him from himself, then fine, but playing through injury is on the player, especially the star player. Is his Dad upset? Probably, but Andrew is a grown man and can make his own decisions. Plus he's building a new house here.

I keep hearing about the meaningless Jacksonville game..... didn't we mathematically still have a chance if we won, to get in the PO's?

I heard this as well on Mike Fransesa's radio show on the Fan yesterday. They actually mentioned the 49ers as a possible landing spot.

yeah he threw that out there because Andrew went to Stanford and the niners have no QB.......  just throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks

  12. hell, Everyone hated Robert Morris because he wasn't Zach Thomas, but that pick would have been one of Grigson's finest......  Marcus Washington and Mike Peterson Polian drafts 4 and 3 respectively, better than any Grigson 2nd rounders for Indy.....year 4 he was getting Rick DeMulling in the 7th, and Ryan Diem in the 4th.....  Grigsons 4th year he landed Anderson and Geathers...... his yr 4 1st rounder vs. Polians?  that's Wayne vs. Dorsett......  same year into their tenures, same position, same draft round and area.......  and both unpopular picks with fans at first..... hell they were both from the U..... doesn't get more apples to apples than that.....

  13. 7 minutes ago, DougDew said:

Yes.  And his first two draft picks after Manning, 1st picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds,  were WRs Jerome Pathon and EJ Green, two washouts.  He signed FAs Chad Bratzke, Chad Cota, traded a 2nd round pick for CB Tyrone Poole ( a worse CB than Vontae), and made a number of bonehead picks and decisions that rival Grigson's...all the while being combative with the media.

The difference was that he inherited some all pro players at the beginning of their careers, and stuck around long enough to where a few of his draft picks became probowlers for a long time...not to mention having the 4th pick in the draft with which to draft Edgerrin James, a pick he was allowed to make after the team had an obviously horrible record the year before.  He also had the help of a good talent evaluator in Tony Dungy.  Those are facts.

That's not to defend Grigson, but there were a lot of similarities in the beginning of their Colts careers.  One stuck around, one was fired.

I wasn't aware Tony was known as an evaluator, but I could see it......  Polian was much better finding starter quality players than Grigson.  I think therein lies the difference.  for every Jerome Pathon and EG Green, there were Antoine Bethea's and Jeff Saturday's......  Grigson never found starters/pro bowlers in the late rounds and UFA at anywhere near the rate Polian and his scouting staff did....
