ur crazy if u think the Colts will beat the Packers. Luck will be lucky if he's only sacked 3X. Packers are out for blood. Yes Jennings is out but now Nelson is a bigger threat. Benson has carried the ball 98% of the time. 38-10 Packers. This is where Rodgers starts to light up the opposing teams. I expect a pick 6 & a couple turnovers caused by GB

Niners/Bills...darn it.

He looked great, no doubt, but I don't understand why the flame baiting is necessary.

Why is it that people here have such low expectations and start hating on anyone comes in here and demands more?
People have their right to an opinion and forums are designed for them to express them, no matter what they are.
It's not that. heck even I have been somewhat critical of Luck but there is a difference in pointing out his flaws vs. baiting people for inflammatory responses.

Hopefully it gets better with Reitz coming back.

I think one of their guards is injured, is he returning or on IR?

It'll take time. I think the Colts had Allen has the top TE right? I swear I read it on here.

How was I not impressed, let me count the ways:
1. could not win a weak Pac12.
2. was owned by the Oregon Ducks. Lost Pac12 by losing to Duck both of his years starting.
3. Threw into coverage.
4.Lost Fiesta Bowl
5.Had trouble against good Defenses
Ask Sam Bradford or Cam Newton about having great numbers and a losing records. Come to think about it ask Jeff George.
Drafted Fleener (when we could have got an O-lineman) and picked up Whalen. IMO, shows that F.O. does not believe in his skills either.

It's not going to affect anything. For a lot of people, watching football is leisure so they aren't going to take extreme measures or boycott watching the games. Boycotts generally don't do well either.

What good is throwing for over 300 yards and losing the game, especially if you are part of the problem for the lose.
Didn't know Luck played defense. darn him, he should have defended that 80 yard TD better!
-
As long as we get a shot at a hail mary, we will be ok!
-
I actually laughed at how hard he shoved the defender and it wasn't called

Anyone else feel like the offense is just really flat? Outside of Thomas there aren't any real playmakers...The Colts O was explosive even with Garcon, Wayne, Clark, and Collie a couple seasons ago. Manning definitely looks good late but really flat early on.

I understand that he's a rookie, but I'm always seeing issues with his accuracy. He doesn't seem to throw a "well placed ball". He's only going to continue to improve, but there are times when he looks way off. I see balls thrown behind receivers, I don't see him leading receivers. Am I the only one?
Also, what's the deal with the hard-snap and then having the o-line drop into their stance? This isn't high school football.
No you aren't but you have to realize that he is still getting used to the NFL speed on both defense and offense. Everyone is faster. The chemistry and timing will take more than a few months.

Luck needs to do a better job of not trying to force throws. Could have easily been 2 or 3 int's today.
-
I thought the refs were fine. It was the lack of execution.

About the conservative play calling and putting the ball in Luck's hands: IMO Luck's INT is what turned the game. They had the ball at midfield, and had the gone down field with a smart, conservartive play calling and scored, the game was probably over. That's why you manage rookie QBs in such situations.
The smart conservative play calling that didn't work after his INT? Or before? :hmm:

I'd rather have him sit out against the Jags + the bye week and prepare for the Packers. You can tell how highly I think of the Jags lol.
-
Monday night was a disaster...I still don't know how Atlanta recovered that fumble unless there was some strong arming going down in that pile.
-
It must have been three out of the four teams then. This was back when David Garrard was still a Jag.
yup in 2007, the texans finished 4th at 8-8. NFC East sent 3 teams to the playoffs that year too.

Colts fans are used to it. Thinking back as far as I can, Manning always had a couple bad games a year for whatever reason. I defended his arm strength prior, but it did look like some of the intermediate to deep balls lacked zip and fluttered. He said himself he's not 100% but he still looks good for someone whos not 100%.
-
Knee jerk reaction. Yes he played awful but he's always due for a couple bad games a year.

Frankly, some of you disgust me - talking about Peyton Manning as though he was just any other "former-Colt", where is the loyalty to the player that built this franchise to what it is today?
Even though he wears a different uniform, he is still a Colt at heart (especially the way he runs that offense) if you casually dismiss him then you are casually dismissing a decade of excellence.
As for the game, Manning has always struggled with DCs who took away his pre-snap read eg Crennel, Riviera, Nolan ...what annoys me is they throw the kitchen sink at him one week, then the next they go back to their old same, vanilla selves and look completely beatable ...why don't they play this way every week for every QB? Argh!!!!
I hate to say it but I don't think Peyton is mentally strong right now .. he doesn't have faith in himself physically and now it looks like he doesn't have faith in what he sees
This thread was originally in the Colts section which is why people were saying that.

If they score a TD, I think its over.
Robert Griffin gets popped.

Looks like he lost his footing while simultaneously trying to hit the defender. It's not like he was trying to run out of bounds.
