  1. Ok, so you admit it is all about Peyton then. Therefore, if Peyton is going to be healthy in September you still get rid of him?

The 2-14 team was Bill Polians terrible idea to build an entire team around one QB and have him carry the team to the SB. The 2012 team will be much different with a new GM, new coach, new scheme. I see no reason why Peyton wants to come back to this team.

  2. Dwight Freeney, Jerraud Powers, Robert Mathis, Pat Angerer, Antoine Bethea

Collie, Addai, Brown, Clark and possibly Garcon.

Also news flash but free agency hasn't started and neither has the draft.

Also Green Bay drafted a lot of those guys AFTER Rodgers. It's not like Clay Matthews was sitting there for Rodgers to come play QB.

  3. It also means you didn't have the money to spend on them so why would you have enough to sign other big FA's.

Because Reggie wayne is in his 30s wanting to be paid top dollar. Pierre Garcon is a #2 receiver wanting to be paid like a #1. Why do that if the Colts can get a WR in the 2nd round or sign a veteran receiver who would produce at less cost?

  4. So, when Irsay gave Peyton his huge contract he was thinking rebuilding? One season ago dude.

Do you think Irsay was sitting there thinking about the 2-14 season no one foresaw and Mannings next surgery when he gave him that contract?

  5. Completely irrelevant.. None of those guys have anything in common except the name of the school on their diplomas. I "think" Luck will be good, but who knows for sure??

Just like every QB taken overall #1 is irrelevant. Different players, different coaches, different city, different skill set. I hate when people think since player 'x' became a bust then player 'y' might be a bust. Two completely different scenarios.

  6. Luck has no one to throw to no real defense and a bod to mediocre O-line. And everyone comes into the league with just potential no matter what they did in college. He hasn't taken an NFL snap and many are proclaiming him the next great thing. No.

And really Bradford on the way up I don't think so.

Hey just a hint. Maybe because the draft hasn't happened and free agency hasn't started? Have you ever thought about that? My god some people really want this guy to fail.

  7. I never said he'd be the highest paid. Not sure that he will be.

Brees will pass the Brady/Manning deal so will others as the years go by leading up to that point.

5/90 would be low for deal # 2 in my opinion.

Another thing to take into account is Brees, Brady and Manning are all on the backend of their careers (well maybe not entirely Brees). Luck will be 26 or 27 so that is a factor too.

  8. You do know that his 5th year is a team option for top 10 Money?

Top 10 and the highest paid contract right now (5 yr 90 mil) are two big differences. Seeing that Brees is struggling to get a deal done in the ballpark of Mannings contract, I dont know how Luck will be able to get a 5 year 90 mill contract in his 2nd contract. Of course unless he wins a bunch of SBs and breaks a ton of records (I'm not complaining).

  9. Where it's reported that Luck's 2nd contract wont be for 5 yrs/ 90 mill

It's not reported, I never said 'reported'. We just dont know. We cannot conclude what his 2nd contract will be at all. Even guessing it seems unlikely he would be paid that much after only 4 years in the league.

  10. If this is true, I hope Peyton goes to win two more Super Bowls. That way when people remember him they will notice his two SB with another team then him being remembered as a Colt. For them to go about it the way they did it was very, very wrong. If I was him I would denounce the Colts immediately.

Let's hope Andrew doesn't suck. :sigh:

And I told you there was no way in heck Luck would sit for 4 years, or at all. Just saying.

  11. If Irsay doesnt pay the 28m, Essentially, YES HE IS KICKING MANNING OUT OF TOWN!

How do you know that? It could be VERY possible Manning may not have wanted to be paid the 28mill and seek else where or sign an entirely new contract. You can't play the blame game until the details come out.

  12. Did anyone consider that if Luck is successful, he will take up as much cap space as Manning did in a couple of years? Limiting the opportunity to achieve a well rounded team, again? Just a thought

the cap will rise once the TV deals get done. Also Lucks 2nd contract is not going to be 5 years 90 mill

  13. Does anyone know revenue figures of NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL?

    http://www.stadiumzone.weebly.com

has all soccer clubs revenues above 10 million euros, soccer clubs seem to be the richest sports clubs in the world, closely followed by NFL and MLB clubs, but who has the 2011 figures? Is there such a site for NFL teams by the way?

The franchise worth the most per 2007 was the Cowboys at $1.6billion but the highest revenue was the Redskins and their revenue figure for that year was 327 million. My guess is that figure is higher now.

  14. Regardless whether Manning or Luck is under center I personally dont see the Colts as contenders for at least 2 years. I know we aren't going to the SB with Luck as a rookie or even the playoffs but I'm not concerned for the short term, moreso for the long term. I'll give up a couple of losing to average seasons for possible long term success.

  15. after he finishes training camp he will be back in his original form. There is no reason to believe that he wont be.

If Manning was done he would have retired already.

I believe what Peyton says, I don't believe people who think they know it all and say that Peyton is done and will retire.

nobody is saying Manning is retiring

We just strongly believe he will not be paid 28mill but there is a chance he re-signs with the Colts

  16. If Manning is back I fully expect Luck to compete for the starting job. First off, the only way Manning is secure as the starting QB is if he is paid the 28mill (which he almost certainly wont). If he comes back with a smaller contract, its open game. A healthy Manning in terms of strictly his health (arm strength, fusion which is already clear) is only that, a healthy Manning. It does not guarantee that Manning will return to an elite form because there are other factors like being away from the game so long. I also don't expect Luck to come in and be content as a backup.

Switch positions, if Manning was coming in as a rookie, he wouldn't be just content as a backup, he would want to be a starter.

  17. I think a lot of you are being a little soft on Williams. What's with all of this talk of suspensions? Black list him and suspend and fine the players that received payment. People that pay out for injuries or accept payment for said injuries are despicable. Outside of Sports this would be putting a "hit" out on somebody mafia style. The fact that it is a sport is the only reason why they shouldn't be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. However, they should be face the maximum penalties that the league can deal out.

I read on PFT some Lawyers and the IRS may get involved because remember the IRS wants to see that money. Messing with the federal government is a bad bad idea. . .
