  1. "It's never as bad as you thought and it's never as good as you thought"

I went back and watched the game several times already. On MOST plays, Ben got rid of the ball extremely fast. He knew exactly where he was going with the ball, and he was spot on accurate. Too accurate...abnormally accurate. He just had one of those days where he was in the zone. Good for him.  Only on a few plays did he really hold the ball for a long period of time. Watching the game, it just felt like forever.

We'll be fine. We got beat by a better team THAT day. They played outstanding, just like we did the week before against Cincy.

Yep Ben got rid of the ball quickly but many play 3rd and long he got much time, and against Cincy was just the Defense on the Zone i hope the offense and the defense can get into the zone in the playoffs, the offense was in the zone against Texans in the first quarter.

  2. I don't think that we are giving the Steelers enough credit here. They played an incredible game on offense. They were nearly flawless and it was just "one of those days" where everything went wrong for us and everything went right for them. They played outstanding.

Let's not overreact. Every team has had a "stinker" here and there. We will be fine and Kudos to Grigson for not overreacting.

Well if you give any QB 5+ sec every drop back he is gonna burn you it wasn't only because we couldn't pass rush Ben with 4 man but when we blitz we just crashed on the OLine every play. They played good but 600yrds was most our fault.

  3. The Texans would never trade Clowney.

The 49ers may trade Smith due his off the field issues..

Like a month ago i made a Thread about Smith, i called that we could get him for 6 & 7 rounds, i still think it could work because Smith has 2 strikes and 49ers aren't gonna pay him because he could get a 3 strike and get a lengthy suspension also this is his last season and he plays OLB but i think the 49ers play a different 3-4 but i could be a good pick.

  4. Yeah, but did you see Steeler receivers having to jump and expose themselves for passes? Look, Andrew was under duress yesterday. He had some poor throws. But, you cant always blame the receivers when its the quarterbacks responsibility to get them the ball where they need to have it. Saying that Nicks was the whole problem only half covers it.

I was blaming just Nicks for the non-effort factor, i mean Luck made poor decisions the pick-6(although i could be WR mistake we never know for sure because if it was Luck mistake Nicks isn't dumb to throw him under the bus and well Andrew is Andrew), on the fist series on the 3 and 10 in the Redzone Andrew had open Allen but he was forcing the passes to Nicks, and Andrew has made many bad calls the last couple of weeks and needs to stop forcing the ball(that's because he feels the necessity of comeback) but also this game was awful the bright side is that we found a good #2/3 WR on Moncrief and maybe Nicks is gonna be benched next week but remember that Pagano isn't the kind of guy who benches someone right away(DHB).

  5. I think that the Steelers had Nicks scouted better than Moncrief and thats why he had a bad game to a certain extent. Nicks has done some great things in the past and he garnered more attention. Moncrief had better opportunities and, to his credit, took advantage of them. Remember last year when Rogers put up the great numbers against the Bengals, the next game, the opposition scouted him and took him out of the game for the most part. So, lets see how Moncrief does once hes viewed as a legitimate threat and scouted better.

Additionally, if Nicks cant reach the balls that are thrown his way, why does he get the blame for it? Maybe Andrew saw the tighter coverage on him and made some uncatchable throws. The pick six was late to Nicks and very slow to develop. Just what occurs on normal pick sixs' in the NFL. As much as everyone seems to love Whalen, if he was the answer, NIcks wouldnt even be on the squad.

We got Nicks because he said "I would like to play with Luck or Newton" before he wasn't in the hook of Grigson(he was but i think he wasn't his first choice) i think that statement made Grigson bring him here, we were happy about that but the truth was that he was playing poorly and lazy, he has a good set of tools that's all. We should give Whalen playtime he isn't exceptional but he can catch and move the chains some throws to Nicks were high but he could reach them i mean if you don't jump or just don't try to catch it's your fault i think Luck has overthrow many passes to Wayne, but he gets those because he try to catch every ball no just the ones to his hands.

  6. Boy ...he got fooled hard on that late game 4th&1 conversion for a TD, didn't he? Miller wraped around real sneaky like and Wener was completely lost. To his credit, that was an excellent call with superb execution.

He also dropped to cover and cos he has no experience on cover A. Brown caught a ball within 1yrd from Wener, actually all the LB played awful no pressure no coverage no game.

  7. 1 thing that's being overlooked is how poorly our LB's claimed their coverage assignments.

I feel our coaches let us down more than anything when it came to blocking assignments on offense. The playcalling was asking for too much time for routes to develop.

Yep D'Qwell give up many 3rd and long letting the TE catch and run for the first down, and i saw a couple of plays where they LB blitzed and the DLine stand up to cover and i was like what the heck is Redding doing on cover, i think Werner still needs to work on coverage he can't cover.

  8. Well i'd to see if Reggie isn't ready for the next week.

Hilton   Allen Castonzo Reitz/Mewhort Harrison Thornton Reitz/Mewhort  Fleener  Moncrief/Wayne

                                             Richardson/Bradshaw  Luck

Gosder is playing awful and Nicks with 60 of 66 snaps just had 1 freaking reception(Luck and Nicks aren't on the same page or Nicks is playing like last year effortless).

Moncrief showed greatness, i think Whalen deserves more time he is an excellent route runner.

Nicks is gonna start next game, remember DHB? Pagano needed like 5 games to bench him and he let Hilton on the sideline for a while.

But seriously Nicks has to be benched next game, he doesn't run good routes and he doesn't get open.

I don't really understand the hate for Whalen i think there are 2 TD on kickoff and on punts he is good enough but Raven's game was awful, there is only one Devin Hester.

  9. Well first we need to stop lying to ourselves Colts Defense never has had pass rush outside Mathis and we were doing just fine because Davis can shutdown a #1 WR and Toler can slow the #2 WR and we kind of have a good playcall last week where the pressure were coming from everywhere but yesterday the blitz pakage was  bad executed or bad play call(i saw most of the blitzes crashing on the OL), i think we didn't play the game with effort the defense got ripped and we lost the rotation after JRF went down, i think Redding, D'Qwell Jackson, Mike Adams played too many snaps for their age, also when Davis was healthy(first series) we played Zone and Roethlisberger released really quick the ball vs our zone, then Davis went down and we played the usual 1 on 1 but Butler, Gordy, and with an less blame Toler (he was covering Brown good enough to give the DLine time to pressure the QB) got torched.

Then the OL played absolutely awful all the time Andrew had pressure on his face, Gosder was especially awful and many times the interior got confused with the switches and when they blitz they could stop the first charge 1 sec then they got pushed back by the Steleers defense.

Much of the blame goes to Luck for the pick-6 idk if Nicks didn't do a good route or Luck just went full foolish on that play.

I have seen many plays where Luck have to release the ball quick to an assigned WR(bubbles and screens) but i have yet to see one work many of those plays the DE could pick it and the DB is always stopping those plays after 1 yrd.

  10. Do you think Ty Montgomery will fall to the second round?

I mean Stanford is doing poorly with Kevin Hogan so Ty may fall to the second round but he's gonna have a strong combine(but Donte Moncrief also had a good combine and fall to the 3rd round), the kid(Ty) has all the tools to become an #1 WR, and we may fill the Safety position on the first round.

Because i think if Nicks begin to have a good season he is going to ask for #1 WR money and we can't afford that(2012 draft class asking for contracts), i think we have T.Y., Moncrief, Whalen for the next season and maybe Reggie(depends how much money he ask for) and if he goes then we don't have enough depth.

  11. I see what you are saying and you have a point, but you can pass out of the heavy sets and get PI calls.  What I mean is the Jumbo sets are definitely something that can be lethal for us on the ground and in the air, but you have to leave almost all of your WR talent on the bench to execute these formations. We also need signature play designs that take advantage of our WR talent.  It's still a work in progress, but once we get to that point this will be a very tough offense to deal with. People just need to be patient and let Pep get used to his personnel and how people are playing us.  I'm sure he'll design something that is nasty as the season goes along.

Yep but i was watching the DEN vs SEA and i realize than SEA doesn't run heavy schemes as often as we do, they are always like 3 WR and a TE and they let Beast Mode run the ball and the defensives don't stack like a buch of guys on the box they are afraid of RW and their WR group(they have talent but i think we have a little more) and i'm wondering why we don't run schemes like more often i mean Hamilton likes the power run but if you have oranges you don't make lemonade(we don't have a true FB and Allen and Fleener are really good pass catchers).

Also SF they run a offense more like we do but they have a excellent OL and they let CK run a couple of options but Pagano/Irsay/Grigson don't even consider it and we could run like once or twice a read-option like Phil or SF does.

I don't have NFL review but i'm considering to buy it because i'd like to analyze the games.

  12.  The down side is we will be wasting our WR talent if we don't become sharp with some of the other formations to feed the talent we have at WR as well. We need to be able to mesh the two strengths together to get the best out of both blessings.

And that's a great down side because with the new approach to the defensive holding and pass interference we could get a lot of free yrds and we kind of have a good depth at WR.

  13. The thing I hate the most about people complaining towards the running game is it was WORKING!  I can see if we were standing at where we stood last year with zero ability to run.  I'm just glad that it was working, and both backs executed the plays very good with the exception of Trichs fumbles. I really enjoyed what I saw and it may get even better if the coaches decided to turn it into a 3 headed monster with Bradshaw, Richardson, and sprinkling in Boom Herron.  It could become even more deadly if we add some more Spider 2 Y Banana, play action bootlegs, and other easy short throws for first downs coming off those runs.

Yes I'd like to see the passing game evolve some, but that will happen with continued success in the running game and us finding the personnel packages that work best for us to take the deep shots.

Yeah it's working but Phily isn't a great defense actually they preferred to send a extra man on the coverage and avoid big plays(they did), and this kind of game isn't gonna work with Cincinnati, Baltimore, Cleveland, New England, Houston. They have  good defenses and if Pep try to run all the time vs them he is gonna have a really bad season.

I read what you say before about Stanford scoring 40+ each game but also you are forgeting  they have/had an elite Defense , elite OL and David Shaw(he is an exceptional coach), we have a average Defense(cause the S and no passrush), and our OL is IMO above average and promising with young core but inexperienced.

  14. We could get him for a 6th and a 7th maybe(these picks are longshots and Aldon Smith would be as well), he is on contract year also he is suspended until week 10 and SF doesn't know if re-sing him.

I know a lots of troubles but he is exceptional on the field.

    Any thoughts?

  15. Don't misunderstand me i really want to Chuck succeed as a Coach but he needs to understand that he has a once in a Generation QB and your motto can't be "Run the ball, stop the run" on this new NFL where the WR can't be touched, and if you just realize Luck is taking all the blame(we don't completely blame him) because he has blind trust on their Couches and he's always gonna take the blame(he deserves some) but Chuck and Grigson made really bad movements:

    • Laron Landry(can't tackle property),RJF(good but not enough),Jackson(like RJF)
    • TR trade(we could got a pass rusher with that pick and this years draft there were really good RBs till 5th)
    • not addressing the pass rush problem(Werner was supposed to help not to resolve the pass rush issues),
    • not getting a Center( i mean Khaled Holmes 12 snaps weren't warranty) what if A.Q. didn't get cut? who would be the center Jack?, then who you trust to cover the LG? another injury-prone ?
    • FS ?? really we could made an aggressive offer to Jarius Byrd(we have way too much cap this year)I know that they are saving cap cause they are gonna pay Allen,Luck,Hilton, etc.

    Good thing they have done:

    • 2012 Draft
    • Getting a decent (above-average DL)
    • Re-sing Vontae Davis
    • Try to protect Luck(they have heavily invest on the OL)
    • Finding Diamonds in the rough

I mean Chuck has developed into a great motivator and average HC, but he tries to play like SF or SEA when he doesn't have the personal, if you have T.Y., Reggie, Nicks, Allen, and you try to run and when you pass are passes with a specific target(Luck throw the ball even if his target is on Disadvantage but it's designed to that player) you are trying to force the things, i'm not an expert and i have zero experience coaching but when you watch those games where Luck throws or runs on those final moments you know that you have a special QB but you are wasting his talent with bad calls, i think Andrew is losing confidence because he blames himself of the loses and he is overthrowing sometimes or being inaccurate.

This is my first post i could be really wrong but i accept all the critics.

BTW  I think Jon Gruden could resing ESPN if Grison/Irsay offer him to coach Luck.

    Have a good day!

  16. Actually i have a superstition and it has not failed to me. It is wear an old jersey from high school(it's green and it's from cowboys), last weekend i wore my Luck's jersey cause i was out of home(all the first half), when i arrived at home i changed my clothes and you know the rest.

I can't wear anything from Colts when i wear something from colts we just lose.
I'm skeptical about those things but #OnlyWeirdIfItDoesntWork.

  17. Two points....

One,  Skov does not have a history of injuries.

He is NOT injury prone.    He's only suffered one injury of any real note.   But it was a very, very bad knee injury and will need to be examined closely by all doctors and be cleared by them.

Also,  from an inside linebacker perspective,  Skov is a very good blitzer and pass rusher.   Very good.  He's very instinctive and has good timing.   So, you cold say pass rushing is one of his better qualities.

Just wanted to clear those up for you.....

I just knew the knee injury, i'm really rooting to get Skov, but it seems improbable i think he won't be after 42th pick.
