no he really is not he was the number 2 before he got hurt .  what has hurt this offense all year? dropped passes .  third down drops kill the colts and take away them scoring over 30 points a game .     losing jack doyal killed us grant is also a security blanket on third down passes .    only hilton and imnam have sure hands

Not to be a negative Nancy, but I think Grant is a big reason why Inman was signed.

    Player | Games | Rec | Yards | TDs

    —————————————————

    Grant         14          35       334         1

    Inman         9           28      304         3

That’s 23.9 yds/gm vs. 33.7 yds/gm. That doesn’t account for big 3rd down plays but suffice to say Inman has been more productive.

  2. I think the OPs comments around Grigson were an interesting take on it. If we take a step back, Grigson probably didn’t do as bad of a job as we give him credit, although don’t get me wrong I was absolutely giddy when he was fired.

There is always a factor of luck in drafting even with the can’t miss superstars. Injuries derail careers. Ebron is another case where even having the right scheme / coaching staff can be the difference between a pro bowl and being out of the league. It’s a fun thought experiment to think about all of the 1st round busts that may have been all pros in the right environment.

I dont even think Ballard knew what he was getting when he drafted Nelson. Crazy.

Thats the exciting part. Getting more than everyone thought.

I don’t think he knew the level of production that he was going to get out of him but I do believe he knew the nastiness he was getting and that is where you have to respect CBs process.

  4. When I watched it live, it looked obviously like a touchback; especially when you see the replays with all the angles. Have no idea how in this era of NFL that was called possession when crossing the goal line; he had 2 fingers on top of the ball as it was falling freely to the ground.

Clearly trying to keep viewers in an otherwise blow out playoff game. We got the W and that’s really all that matters. Would’ve loved it to be 21 - 0.

  5. Mike Pereria (Link) on the state of NFL officiating. He claimed the game today is over officiated. Couldnt agree more.

Looking for meaningless infractions that have no impact on the play to influence the game. Not to mention most of the time they are throwing flags on questionable calls in first place.

  6. Not sure if it’s Cris Colinsworth or the mainstream media although I’m not a fan of his either way.

They clearly thought Derick Henry was going to run all over the Colts defense like they were the Colts defense of old. Not the case. I mean they had a train graphic to go with all of the Henry references. The guy started like half way through the season.

We weren’t sure if Andrew Luck was ever going to play football again at the beginning of the season, yet Henry was the focus? Barely mention of Lucks CPOY/MVP caliber season OR Leonard’s ridiculous play. Glad to come away with the win to let the play on the field do the talking albeit in a sloppy win, a win none the less.

Most of the time when he does that the refs throw the yellow at him. They just assume he is holding.

Sad state of the NFL. Nothing worse than seeing a clean block that flattens a DLineman called back. It’s like watching a sack get negated by physics.

  8. From a team culture standpoint, you want the Colts to be competitive and win as many games as possible. They can build on that.

From a talent point of view, we have holes all over the roster despite the perceived completeness the team appeared to be over their winning streak. We were an overachieving team. The Jags knocked us down and reminded how much of a need WR and Oline still is. Defense played well but Jags just displayed how inept they are on offense, so really not something we can hang our hat on. We still need an upgrade at Dline and DB not to mention depth across every position.

Agree there is talent across the draft, but it always helps to draft higher. We are still a year or two out to being a consistently competitive team. While I hope we win out, I also hope that we are able to get top talent in the draft. I would prefer to win and build the culture but I think we are going to continue to struggle through the last quarter of the year.

  9. I AGREE!! Dallas has seemed to drop atleast 1 wide open pass every game for as long as i can remember. I Dont like his attitude or his demeaner its time for him go. He played awful last game and the whole year for that matter. Hardly even tries to make his blockin assignments and his size has nothing to do with it ive seen small running backs block who ever they need to Dallas is just puttin out (Edit) effort while the rest of the team is bustin there butts for this organization. Dallas walks around with a sense of entilement that i dont appretiate as fan of the game of football and of the Colts organization. GET RIDE OF HIM bring in a 6'6 or 6'7 TE with great hands and get this jerk outta here

Apparently you must not know who Dallas Clark is or has done.
