What if Hank Baskett holds on to the damn ball?
What if Marvin Harrison doesn't fumble against San Diego?
What if Nick Harper doesn't get tackled by Rothlisbeger?
What if the referees had enforced the rules against New England's corners in '04?
So many what ifs

Good move by the Colts. Gives them alot of flexibility in 2020, while not mortgaging the future. No-brainer.

I voted 'No' but I think he will in time.
This is a big ugly black mark on the organization and Irsay will eventually want to make amends. The Colts * away a generational talent. I hope this doesn't deter other young quarterbacks from coming here.
If the Colts rebound quickly and have a young quarterback fall in their lap, Luck will be in the Ring sooner. If this organization gets stuck in purgatory, might take longer

The Grigson hiring was the mistake.
We could have kept Peyton and traded the #1 draft pick for a bounty.
We could have hired a different GM in 2012 to build around Luck.
Either scenario would more likely have panned out better. Ours seems to have been the worst possible outcome.
Grigson was the mistake.

Does signing Houston and Funchess signal anything about our draft strategy? Does it negate drafting a WR or another pass rusher in the first round? What position do you think we're looking to draft at 26 now?

I wanted one of either Bell, Brown, or OBJ. Oh well.
Looks like Ballard was true to his word: this Colts locker room isn't mature enough yet to handle a big personality.
I trust in Ballard. Hidden gems are out there. If he hits on draft and value FAs, we will have forgotten about these big name come opening day kick-off

None of other teams scare me. I'll just be watching the games, not playing

I think Bell is more interested in the Colts than they are of him.
Bell is either pining to be a Colt or playing mind games with the Steelers. Either way, he's trying to create his own buzz in the media. Amateurish.

He is a smart guy. He knows football. He can break down tape. However, he has never been successful as a head coach at any level. He is a football nerd. He can break down tape, but he isn't involved in practice. He doesn't know what is going on in meetings and practice.
If he knows football, why keep bringing up his W-L record? He's not applying for a HC job, he's an analyst

Just because he had a horrendous W-L record does not mean he doesn't have knowledge to impart

Trades are so unpredictable, it's almost not worth doing the mental gymnastics to entertain them

By you posting this your still undervaluing the guard positions
Although I posted a link to the article, it doesn't mean I agree with it, you all; just as I stated in the OP.
Ever entertain an idea without accepting it? It's the hallmark of an educated mind

I say no unless he's a natural at the position

Luck's gig is in jeopardy

I love the Nelson pick at #6. I was on the Chubb train, but I've warmed up to Earl Grey. Thank, God, the Browns took Ward at #4, because Denver likely would have snagged QN at #5. Imagine how different the draft would have been for us then.
I'm not certain, but I suspect the Colts were looking at Will Hernandez in R2/3 pick, but the Giants cashed in instead. I would rather of had Will, but I'm happy with Smith
Edit: we're going to need a nickname for this OL

I predict 8-8. This roster still has a lot of holes. Some of the draft picks will not pan out. The injury bugs will eat away at what little depth we do have. Another draft+ spending some FA money next year will make us the surprise team of 2019.
And oh yeah, Nelson is a probowler in his rookie season
-
I think our draft was better than the Cowboy's. I do agree with NYG at the top though.

I'm buying into Ballard's philosophy of quality guys in the trenches with frigging Andrew Luck directing traffic. This roster did have more potholes than the streets here in Indy, so I'm okay with a 2-3 year plan of building through the draft. We're already close to being better than any of the Grigson teams
-
Obviously, Colt's brass feels very strongly that he will return to elite status. In fact, looking at the results of the draft, I would say, they're all in 100%

Maybe we should have stuck with the 3-4 for another year just to have time to adjust to all of the monumental changes? We just allocated a great deal of draft resources for the offense whilst cutting serviceable parts on defense. That cupboard will be pretty bare on defense, in particular when we start losing bodies to the war of attrition that is the NFL regular season.

Glenn-Lilia- Saturday- Scott- Diem
Are we close yet?

Smith has played some on the outside. Maybe he's projected at RT
