  1. Additionally, there's a scenario where if we win out, and the Dolphins win out, they could take their division, and the Pats could bump us from the 6 seed, so we MAY need the Pats to win another game. Maybe two of the three,.... don't know.

I'm concentrating more on the Vikings taking it to the Dolphins this weekend. If they do, I think the above scenario is removed. But, of course, a Colts win this weekend helps A LOT.

    That's how I feel...

I mean, I'm not a negative poster. I'm not trying to be that "unimpressed" kind of guy. I'm just saying that there's a difference between an opportunistic defense and a good defense. I think the Colts are the former right now.

Isn't that the intention of the Tampa 2?

Bend but don't break. Make them plod down the field in little chunks, in hopes of causing turnovers along the way (opportunistic)(?)

They may never look like the Ravens, or even the rumored Monster, but effective none the less.

But it does. It changes your expectations. If you convince yourself that we are going to win every game we play until the end of time you’re going to be disappointed when it doesn’t happen. You set yourself up for an expectation that fell short and now you’re going to be dissatisfied, and express that dissatisfaction despite the fact that it was wrongly built to begin with.

The cold hard facts of this situation are that there are nearly an infinite amount of variables that will influence how our season ends, and most  of them beyond our control as fans and as a team.

There is simply too much that can go on between now and then to put any real stock into these outlooks and forecasts.

Yep, and it becomes a bit simpler next week, and clearer the next, and so on.

I'm just thrilled we're able to consider all this, and realistically.

Problem is that many will feel it's a disaster if they don't make it, and that's a shame.

  4. I always get a kick out of it that every time the announcer introduces "well, let's ask our rules expert here, Mr. blah blag, to give us his opinion on that play". They're never THERE on the mic and ready to talk. They always sound like they'er coming from another room, stumble to get the mic on then awkwardly inform us of their opinion.

Are they watching the game, or watching replays, trying to catch up with the game?

Maybe they have to check in to see what they're supposed to say?

I'm joking, but it always seems so awkward. Almost as though they're surprised the teacher called on them.

When it comes to main media they rarely talk about us. As in ESPN, NFL.com, USA Today, FOX, etc.. That is a fact and nobody can say otherwise - we are just a small market. Unless we have teams that can start 7-0/9-0, etc. like when Peyton was here it will be that way. Yeah a few talk about Luck's greatness like your Cowherd's and Max Kellerman's but most of the media do not care about us in reality outside of Indianapolis. It's not complaining or whining it is just true. We should've been the 2nd biggest Football game talked about (only behind the Miami miracle win over NE) on Monday and most barely mentioned us on ESPN and the NFL Channel. We beat a team on the road that had won 9 in a row and our win put us at 7-6 and made the Playoff picture jumbled and interesting so that should've been a huge story. I am used to it though so it really doesn't bother me like it used too. I would rather stay under the radar like in 1995 and 2012. Those were fun seasons much like this one.

As much as I understand that feeling, I gotta say/ask:

    - Doesn't this say as much about the Texans as it does the Colts?

    - Who exactly are the big markets? NY, NE, Miami (?), Dallas(?), Chicago, L.A., Atlanta(?), and SF/Oakland.

    - Who gets the most NFL attention? Pats, Steelers, Cowboys, Rams, Packers. Who am I missing???

    - Everyone else gets attention on an eb & flow basis.

Yep, I'd like to hear all Colts, all the time, but I'll take what I can get.

BTW, my qualifier has to be....... I don't watch the National sports shows, except for the games themselves.

Qualifier2: Don't forget I'm originally from Chicago, and used to getting NO Colts coverage.

I could be wrong but the Raiders will implode with Gruden in charge of everything.

Once the fan base dwindles so will the Raiders.

Eh. They can always move back to Oakland.... or San Diego..... or Mexico City...... or London....... or San Antonio....
