I think the boss will have a few things to say about this.

Really we should not even send our starting lineup to next weeks game "there is no use to risk an injure to a starter. They can stay at home and practice and send the 2nd 3rd stringers (the results will be about the same in the end)

they should move AC to LG and start Reitz at left T start our rookie at RG and the other one at C

Fleener did make a catch... and is the least of our worries. I'm worried about the line more than anything. Being an armchair tight end will get you nowhere. If only we had drafted Tao, and got his invisible girlfriend with him it could have filled two holes, huh? These kind of threads are silly.

its better we struggle now against a highly athletic qb and learn from these close games than to do it later when the games count for more, lets take this game as a lesson learnt and keep on improving in time for the playoffs we are still a young team.

One thing that still does not seem right about this game was that Oakland had an OL that had top players held out and in one position I think it was a 3rd string starter and they looked so much better than our starting OL without injuries

I would have liked to have seen more of Bradshaw today but we just didn't get enough possessions.  He had a few nice runs with his 7 carries.  I think if we keep honing our craft we'll be fine.  Ballard looked pretty good tonight.

I think that Bradshaw will be used more next week, maybe even start. I would like to see a little DB but Ballard did well

We cannot play that 3/4 D against certain teams. we should have chapman in their with the other NT and Redding and the other starter at DE. with Mathis and our 1st round pick at OLB  and do some blitzing cause it is not working the way it is.

 

if we play like this next week we will lose. Oak beat us in every way today total yards, first downs, time of possession, passing yards and rushing yards. we should not have won this game.

3-1  Wins vs Oak, Mia, and Jax, loss to SF.

 

Oakland, should be a good game for us to hit the ground running and pick up some momentum for week 2.

 

Miami, will be a much tougher game, I think it comes down to the end, and I give us the advantage being at home.

 

SF, on the road (young teams struggle to win these games) against a really good D with a QB that can give us troubles with his mobility and arm.  If we are within two scores (10 pts or less) I will be extremely happy.  Our D HAS to come up big in this game.

 

Jax, will be a harder game than it should be, most division games usually are, but we should win this game.  It's a must have, IMO, if we are to be in the playoffs.  I think we have to go 5-1 in division to make the postseason

I really believe that for some reason the 49ers will go the way of the lions (after a good playoff year) and did not make the playoffs the next year. IDK just a feeling

Going on the road to San Fran. That's very hard.

 

I think the Colts will go 3-1 in the first 4 games.

I think the Seahawks game at home will be a L for us. we don't match up with them as well.

 

GB will adjust to what they did last year with a chip on their shoulders. I know 9'ers lose that one

2nd--- Miami will be a close game but its a home game for us and losing their te will hurt them

 

3rd ---this is what I think of the 49ers game. I think we win this because I think the 49ers will lose 4 of their first 5 games they have GB-Seahawks (tuff division game for them) and we are next between another division game. I feel that we are a good matchup with them and we will get a close victory

 

4th-- Jax "nuff said"

4-3 defense bores me. The 3-4 is much more exotic & exciting.

Even in football video games like ncaa I run the 3-4. The nickel 2-4-5 is one of the best formations. I like it cause you can send your 2 OLB's or you can sub them out and rush your DE's off the edge or drop them in coverage. It's alot more confusing so to speak for a QB to face a 3-4 defense imo

The 4-3 that Dungy was boring, here's why; we had great DE's but those undersized DT's that could never get any push up the middle and were usually blocked with one blocker---that would Not be the case with Chapman and Nevis... 

 

also adding to that was there was NO exotic or otherwise blizting (we could add that)

 

also too in the Dungy boring Tampa 2 the cb's played 15 yards off the wr's and played that soft zone coverage. we have the cb's to play man coverage therefore we could add exotic blitzies (sorry can't spell that word). and with Chap and Nevis the qb will not be able to step up in the pocket

We play a 43 almost as often as we play a 34.

Also, Rayford is a pure DE in a 43 as is Werner.

The line would be:

Mathis-Nevis-RJF-Werner

That could work, but what I would really like to see is chapman and Nevis in the middle of the line at the same time

DL: Mathis, Nevis, Chapman, Redding---rotation players: Moala, Franklin, Hughes, JFR, (Werner)

 

LB's: Walden, Freeman, Ceasar/Conner----rotation (Werner could play both de/olb) Angerer, Harvey, Sidbury

 

DB: would not change

Positive to this: with a strong front 4 that can somewhat get to the qb and stop the run --then we could add in some good blitzs from our OLB'ers

Do you understand what preseason is about?  Do you understand the difference in how teams game plan for real games?  

 

Do you think creating a pass rush is more important than evaluating players, especially second and third stringers?

Yes, and Yes. pass rush question, well it all works together if no pass rush the cb's looks bad so how can u evaluate the db's?

do I think the outcome of game is important? not really, but it seems in this game (that was first game for the bills as well as us) and they are evaluating players also... it seems as they were not ready to play (this I feel is a coaching concern).

 

we have always had poor preseason games, however we had PM without a lot of stars especially on the D and they played the same way during the season. this is what i'm concerned about. I was thinking that our backups were much better than in the PM's days.

I was also asked do I think there will be roster changes of people that should make the team. well maybe losing their starting positions if not improved and I will start at left tackle followed by right Guard
