Somewhat disagree with the Bowen article. Going in, I believe Collins was the one player Ballard was prepared to win a bidding war on. Unfortunately the competition was Dan freaking Snyder, and Dan Snyder doesn't lose many bidding wars.
too bad that rarely translates to actual games won. His teams lose plenty of those.

I don't know why people keep saying things like this. If we were one of the final two in on Collins, Ballard was prepared to pay him a whole hell of a lot... just not as much as Dan Snyder was prepared to spend. Ballard's going to pay someone, and now that the market has been set, if it's a safety, it will likely be huge whoever it might be.
Because he said he won't get into a bidding war and overspend if he feels the deals are more than what the team are willing to pay.

it's pretty funny because Ballard has been completely transparent about what he's going to do. Some people just don't want to see it.

Here are a few more factual statements:
”He could land in the XFL.”
“He could join brown in Oakland.”
“He could retire.”
So far, the Colts have been mentioned for every non-QB FA.
Meaning....if we throw enough excrement against the wall something is bound to stick

I can't see Ballard getting into a bidding war over Collins. I like Collins a lot, but think he's a bit overrated.
honestly I can't see Ballard getting into a bidding war over anyone.

I do believe has has issues with way too much freelancing.....so probably not a good fit.

I guess what should be asked is......would he make the team that much better?
he checks almost all the boxes.....leadership, locker room, production, youth, etc.........yes coverage is his weakness, but would he be needed to cover that often? especially with Hooker roaming the back end.

Agreed. Gerald Willis should be talked about more.
Its that time of year where the 1st round studs get all of the attention, and the consensus forgets that Geno Atkins was taken in round 3.
and Grady Jarret in round 5

He's saying it might only take a 2nd to get Dee Ford from KC.
I'd send #58 there if that's all it takes.

Free Agency: Ballard Has Earned the benefit of the doubt (Official Thread)
in Colts Football

yeah this is pretty much the giant nail on the head.... besides, technically free agency hasn't even started yet and there are solid players out there...oh and that little thing called the draft as well.
