mmmm wheeler was playing the weak side angerer was on the strong side....wheeler started behind clint sessions what are you talking about?
When Clint was down the starting lineup was Angerer, Brackett, Conner. What are you talking about? They had more faith in two rookies, one a 7th rounder, than Wheeler.
Are you related to the guy?
naw I know what I saw and wheeler was doing his thing when clint sessions wasn't in
You must have been watching in your own little world, because no one else saw him "doing his thing".

I dont see pat's brain he's not that good on one on one coverage wheeler is so that's why I believe wheeler will be 2nd string and pat 3rd string unless they put pat on the weak side which I doubt
I guess that's why Wheeler started over Angerer last year... Oh, wait.

I think darren evans can be that guy....he has the speed we need at rb we haven't had that in a long time plus we drafted a fast rb last year but never played him except for kickoff return....brandon james from florida
Brandon James is not/was not a RB and we didn't draft him, he was an UDFA.

Collie was a 4th round pick.

I'm excited to see Spann in preseason. I just hope the Oline can give him (and the other backs) enough light to show his worth.
-
Don't respond to this guy, he'll tire himself out.
-
From what I've heard he's restricted with either a 2nd or 3rd round tender on him.
Try first round. No chance we give that up for Grimes.
-
Are you serious? No, just no.
-
LDE is Mathis. The defensive left/right is always from the defensive players perspective, so it would be from the linebacker's view and not the quaterback in your example.
-
blah blah blah.
You make an excellent point here.
-
Donte Whitner next. Former 8th pick overall (just like Jamaal Anderson) and an immediate upgrade over Melvin.
-
somebody pinch me? Could it be? between Costanzo and this our O-Line is rectified.
Time to sure up the defense!
Are you kidding? My gut tells me Ernie (yes, we're on a first name basis) won't be playing OL.

Must read:
YOU PROBABLY DON'T KNOW the man with the large jaw, but Adrian Peterson does. When we asked our guest editor in chief which opposing player he hates facing most, a guy who deserves more pub, Ernie Sims was the first name he gave. "He's like the Tasmanian Devil," says Peterson, who faced Sims twice a year when both were in the NFC North. "He's extremely athletic, he's in on every play and he's a huge hitter."
If that praise comes as a surprise, blame Detroit. In Sims' first three years, the 2006 first-rounder led the NFC with 370 tackles. He did it playing weakside linebacker (or "Will"), a position known for smaller 'backers who specialize in pass coverage. But the Lions also won just 10 games in that stretch. With that kind of futility comes anonymity, even after Sims was traded to Philadelphia last April.
Colleagues, though, have known Sims as a streaking game-film blur for the past five years. He earned his rep by being one of the league's best linebackers at avoiding congestion, spotting the ball and then tracking down runners. "He has to be one of the most acrobatic players in the league," says Lions running back Kevin Smith. "Sideline to sideline, he's a beast. You can size him up all you want, but if he wants contact, he'll find it. And he hits like a freight train." Adds Eagles center Jamaal Jackson, "Ernie's the fastest linebacker I've ever seen."

How awesome is that?

Cadillac Williams. That has to be a joke.
The poor guy just cannot run anymore, he has no knees.
-
This thread: big, big mistake.
-
you said pass catching not playmakers
I never once said "pass catching."

According to his Arkansas bio he played DE in high school and college. He played DE for the Falcons too, so that's got me thinking he's a DE first and foremost, although lining up Mathis, Nevis, Anderson & Freeney on a 3rd and 9 makes me smile a bit.
From 21issuperman's article, http://falcfans.com/scouting-report-jamaal-anderson-2682:
"Anderson will continue to be a starter at end in their base package. Which means mostly on first and second down (run situations) he’ll play outside at left defensive end. When the Falcons switch to their nickel package, usually on third downs or any other obvious passing situations, Anderson will be part of the mix and kick inside. He is a more effective pass rusher when he lines up inside since he is typically facing a less athletic blocker in an NFL guard. But he still isn’t a guy that is going to record many sacks."
That's how the Colts will most likely use him as well.

Oh? Not exactly what commentators were saying on the radio today. What makes him a bust?
Well, let's see. The colts just signed him, a former 8th overall pick, for probably close to nothing. That doesn't exactly make him a superstar, does it?
That being said I do have faith that he can be a solid run stopper for us.
-
Are we going to try to move him to DT?
-
mccoy or even addai are better pass catchers then bush in my opinion
They're definitely good, but they, especially Addai, aren't the playmakers that Bush is as a receiver.
-
Emphasis on the words - maybe a practice squad sign
I wasn't calling you out. Just having some fun.
-
lol! But is he a receiver or a blocking type TE? Eldridge is the only blocking TE we have on the roster with any experience. (I don't know anything about Rob Myers)
Who cares, he's already better than Gijon Robinson. Am I right?
-
Maybe a practice squad sign. Here's his history:
New England PatriotsDeVree was signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2008, but was waived by the team on June 11. He was re-signed on on August 19 and waived again on August 30 during final cuts.
DeVree was re-signed to the team's practice squad on September 1, released on September 4, and re-signed to the practice squad on September 17. He was promoted to the Patriots' active roster on November 17 after cornerback Terrence Wheatley was placed on injured reserve.
DeVree was waived by the Patriots on August 23, 2009.
[edit] Buffalo BillsDeVree signed with the Buffalo Bills on September 1, 2009, but was released four days later, during final cuts.
[edit] Cleveland BrownsDeVree was signed to the Browns practice squad on December 7, 2010. He was waived on July 28, 2011.[1]
Sounds like a keeper.

This is one move I could definitely get behind.

Chris Farley, huh? Not as funny as I remember.
I'm sure you hope you're right too so next year or later this year you can say, "see I told you so". The thing is he was in a terrible system, for his play, with the Eagles and prior to injuries with the Lions' Tampa 2 he was pretty darn good. So I don't see how he can hurt us, if he doesn't play that great than Conner steps in (not Wheeler), simple as that.
Also, who exactly calls him "The Whiffer", your sister's-mother's-son?
