  1. I've heard MANY people talk about SIMS (SIMMS) and was told NUMEROUS times that this guy is trailing WAY off and will not help the COlts much at all. I don't want to bust the bubble, please, don't get me wrong here but this guy is going to hurt more than help....he's known as the "Whiffer".... should tell you all you need to know.

Chris Farley, huh? Not as funny as I remember.

I'm sure you hope you're right too so next year or later this year you can say, "see I told you so". The thing is he was in a terrible system, for his play, with the Eagles and prior to injuries with the Lions' Tampa 2 he was pretty darn good. So I don't see how he can hurt us, if he doesn't play that great than Conner steps in (not Wheeler), simple as that.

Also, who exactly calls him "The Whiffer", your sister's-mother's-son?

  2. mmmm wheeler was playing the weak side angerer was on the strong side....wheeler started behind clint sessions what are you talking about?

When Clint was down the starting lineup was Angerer, Brackett, Conner. What are you talking about? They had more faith in two rookies, one a 7th rounder, than Wheeler.

Are you related to the guy?

naw I know what I saw and wheeler was doing his thing when clint sessions wasn't in

You must have been watching in your own little world, because no one else saw him "doing his thing".

  3. I dont see pat's brain he's not that good on one on one coverage wheeler is so that's why I believe wheeler will be 2nd string and pat 3rd string unless they put pat on the weak side which I doubt

I guess that's why Wheeler started over Angerer last year... Oh, wait.

  4. Must read:

    http://insider.espn.go.com/insider/story/_/id/6804175/nfl-adrian-peterson-wants-know-eagles-linebacker-ernie-sims

YOU PROBABLY DON'T KNOW the man with the large jaw, but Adrian Peterson does. When we asked our guest editor in chief which opposing player he hates facing most, a guy who deserves more pub, Ernie Sims was the first name he gave. "He's like the Tasmanian Devil," says Peterson, who faced Sims twice a year when both were in the NFC North. "He's extremely athletic, he's in on every play and he's a huge hitter."

If that praise comes as a surprise, blame Detroit. In Sims' first three years, the 2006 first-rounder led the NFC with 370 tackles. He did it playing weakside linebacker (or "Will"), a position known for smaller 'backers who specialize in pass coverage. But the Lions also won just 10 games in that stretch. With that kind of futility comes anonymity, even after Sims was traded to Philadelphia last April.

Colleagues, though, have known Sims as a streaking game-film blur for the past five years. He earned his rep by being one of the league's best linebackers at avoiding congestion, spotting the ball and then tracking down runners. "He has to be one of the most acrobatic players in the league," says Lions running back Kevin Smith. "Sideline to sideline, he's a beast. You can size him up all you want, but if he wants contact, he'll find it. And he hits like a freight train." Adds Eagles center Jamaal Jackson, "Ernie's the fastest linebacker I've ever seen."

    How awesome is that?

  5. According to his Arkansas bio he played DE in high school and college. He played DE for the Falcons too, so that's got me thinking he's a DE first and foremost, although lining up Mathis, Nevis, Anderson & Freeney on a 3rd and 9 makes me smile a bit. :burnout:

    From 21issuperman's article, http://falcfans.com/scouting-report-jamaal-anderson-2682:

"Anderson will continue to be a starter at end in their base package. Which means mostly on first and second down (run situations) he’ll play outside at left defensive end. When the Falcons switch to their nickel package, usually on third downs or any other obvious passing situations, Anderson will be part of the mix and kick inside. He is a more effective pass rusher when he lines up inside since he is typically facing a less athletic blocker in an NFL guard. But he still isn’t a guy that is going to record many sacks."

That's how the Colts will most likely use him as well.

  6. Maybe a practice squad sign. Here's his history:

New England PatriotsDeVree was signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2008, but was waived by the team on June 11. He was re-signed on on August 19 and waived again on August 30 during final cuts.

DeVree was re-signed to the team's practice squad on September 1, released on September 4, and re-signed to the practice squad on September 17. He was promoted to the Patriots' active roster on November 17 after cornerback Terrence Wheatley was placed on injured reserve.

DeVree was waived by the Patriots on August 23, 2009.

[edit] Buffalo BillsDeVree signed with the Buffalo Bills on September 1, 2009, but was released four days later, during final cuts.

[edit] Cleveland BrownsDeVree was signed to the Browns practice squad on December 7, 2010. He was waived on July 28, 2011.[1]

    Sounds like a keeper.
