  1. The question is can Long stay healthy? I don't wanna spend a lot of money on a player that misses a lot of games due to injury.

well our guys that will be making the calls, ya kno Grigson Pagano and co are not a bunch of *s. im absolutely positive that he will not pay for a player that has question marks about his health, especially a guy that will be asking for the type of salary like Long will be. have faith

  2. i dont get why everyone wants Avril now over Kruger. Avril is not much cheaper at all, and he is a 4/3 DE not a LB. yes he played some LB in college but only in the beginning, his last 2 years he was a LE so its been a while for him..even in highschool he was a DE. so make no mistake about it DE is his natural fit. i just dont understand some of the thought process on this forum lol

  3. A lot of people here are more concerned what a player does to the cap than what he does for the team. I don't get all these "I don't want him for that much..." Comments. Does anyone really think our management is so dumb that they'll strap the team for a guy that can't help?

Geez, just read all of Grigs comments. Yes, we will overpay for someone. That's what Free Agency is all about. Lets let the accountants worry about the contracts. I'm more concerned how a guy can fit in and help the team.

I give up with people in this forum lol, so many scared people afraid to spend big money on a potential big time player. what would you all rather us do ? spend small $ on a bunch of 2nd tier players? just please before i lose my mind stop acting like every big name that is brought up that he has some kind of issue to where we shouldnt sign him. with reed its age, with kruger its if he can do good without suggs, with long its his injuries, w Greg Jennings its his age. theres always somethin with everyone on this forum. WE HAVE MONEY FOR THE 1ST TIME IN A LONG TIME, embrace it. we are going to overpay for a player or 2 its FA so just stop...

  4. There's no need to be upset.

exactly so why u lookin up stats to 1 up me? lol im perfectly content FA starts in 2 hrs n were about to be in the middle of it for the 1st time in a long time so i honestly could care less about anything you have to say...ur not gonna get me all butthurt like you n lookin up stats. like i also said above i stand by my OPINION 100% so stop trying to prove to me that you're right, i dont care.

  5. He's the best all around OT in the league. He's only given up 68 hits, hurries, and sacks since he's been in the league. His run blocking is still at an elite level.

When it comes down to it, pass blocking is more important than run blocking.

is pass blocking more important? was it more important when we couldnt even get 1 yard on the patriots in 4 tries? dont kid yourself. Pass blocking is where its at but without a run game your pass game will not be at its full potential. Im not trying to argue with you, i could give 2 %s about joe thomas. hes with the browns. Jake Long is a FA and the best LT available. there ya go sound better? dont get all butthurt n look up stats on me, chill.

  6. No one said not to try and sign Kruger. I sure as heck didn't. But I wouldn't pay $12+ million for him. That's just asinine... Especially when there are a billion other spots that need filled on the team.

Overpaying for free agents is a surefire track to salary cap heck. Pay them what they're worth and not much more.

12 mil tho i agree is too much let the Browns have that...tho i believe he'll be worth it i know that his contract would cause issues for our future offensive stars such as TY Fleener Luck and co. i would deff take kruger for 10 mil tho and not even think twice about it

Plenty of people have said on this forum to not sign Kruger some becuase of his asking price but the majority becuase they question wether last season was just a fluke or what. Whatever you do during the playoffs especially starting off in the wildcard is no fluke to me. If he plays anything like that here then he is deff worth his asking price no questions asked. Pagano knows him better then anyone and what hes capable of so im sure if we sign him then we have nothing to worry about. And guy you gotta realize just like the rest of the guys on this forum we have plenty of money, we have enough to sign several guys. we dont just have to settle for one player. Were not in the Polian days anymore we have money to spend so get out of ur shell.

  8. If it's against the tampering rules to have a contract I'm place before 4pm, how can a deal be done 4 minutes in?

Dont ask me dude but it was. So dont act like nothings gonna happen lol there is alot of big names out there and teams are gonna be in a hurry to scoop them up being nervous about other teams beating them to em.

  9. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport adds the Colts to the list of the teams pursuing free agent LT Jake Long. According to rotoworld.com

im sure alot of the people on here are gonna say "no, he hasnt been himself lately and he'll ask for too much money...we need to take a cheaper route". its funny how people act towards free agents here cuz theyre just not use to it lol i hope we sign him and Vasquez both..wed instantly have one of the best lines in football

  10. This is kind of reminiscent of what happened with Houston a few years back. They lost the bidding war for Nnamdi Asomugha, then just turned around and signed Jonathan Joseph to a reasonable contract, and then also signed Danieal Manning with the savings. Both had pretty good years, while Nnamdi just sucked.

Bottom line: don't overpay for free agents. Leave that to the Eagles and Browns of the world.

You can also name off several big Free Agent signings that have worked out so all of you guys really need to stop acting like every guy that ask for top $ is gonna be a bust. Kruger would be amazing here, stop kidding yourself. You guys all saying Kruger hasnt proved much lol well he got 4 1/2 sacks just in the playoffs alone, let me guess was that a fluke? keep saying he wouldnt of got it without being in baltimore without suggs and co. but im pretty sure that goes with any player right? take key players away n all the focus will go on the best player away to lock him down....i mean whats robert mathis? Jerrell Freeman. the guy would have help here and we have plenty of money to sign players on DLine and the draft is right around the corner to help him out...stop being such negative nancies and saying that every single player is bad for this team. yeah lets rely on Jerry Hughes or lets sign a 4/3 defensive end who hasnt played LB since college over a 6'4" 250lb Kruger that just won a superbowl and displayed his amazing motor...yall are crazy.

  11. Couldnt agree more with you.. Everyone has to put into consideration here in about 3 years when all of our rookies of last year are ready for their new huge contracts. I do think tho that we should sign atleast one "big name" olineman like a Vasquez and the rest just let grigson do his thing. i think we should leave the Dbacks as is and sign Paul Kruger instead to replace freeney..him over spencer becuase age. And then for the draft i think we should make a move on either Xavier Rhodes or Johnthan Banks if hes still there..then in the 3rd round you can either go SS, OLB, or OL. If all those moves get done i can see us playing for the superbowl again in 2 years.

  12. Can you guys please explain to me why you want Spencer over Kruger? To me its a win win with any player you go with but honestly nothing excites me about watching Spencer at all, and hes got some years on Kruger. i Say sign Kruger, alot of olinemen and possibly cary williams and if you dont sign him then draft either Rhodes or Banks and our team immediately turns into superbowl contenders for the next decade.

  13. I read an article in Colts Authority about replacing Freeny. They were saying/suggesting that the colts could may end up putting Mathis Where Freeny was. Now I remember mentioning something like this on a post reguarding Arthur Brown. So If this is thier plan then they might end up looking for a OLB that has good range and can cover tight ends, also one who has good range and is solid against the run and can blitz effecively when called to.

Sounds like a job for a one Paul Kruger.
