  1. More than once but IMHO the way they played they deserve the praise. I can't ever remember our run defense being that stout for a whole game, especially against a quality back like Monte Ball. Yeah they gave up a few runs here and there but their play was lightyears better than in the past. It starts up front and that part of the defense is definitely a step in the right direction. The lack of pass rush and secondary play doesn't concern me a whole lot yet only because Manning rarely gets sacked by anyone and he's going to find holes in anyone's secondary.

    2. Calling him lazy and not having to work is just ridiculous. Nobody gets picked #1 overall and regarded as the best defensive prospect ever if he was lazy and didn't have a good work ethic.

    3. I find it hard to believe he wasn't saying this in a joking manner.

    4. This is the same fan base who loves to hear how Peyton said he was going to kick the Colts' * for 15 years if they didn't draft him. This is no different.

Basically, y'all are taking this too seriously.[/Quote ]

All good points. I have watched Clowney play for 3 years and he is the real deal on and off the field. He is a practical joker that loves to have fun. I feel pretty confident that his comment is being taken out of context and he was definitely joking around. And the nonsense that he is lazy is a bunch of crap. When you are having to chase down plays from the backside most of the time because teams are running away from you and having to face double and triple team blocks when they do come at you tends to wear a guy down. Especially in these games down here in SC in Sept and Oct where the humidity is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Houston will be making a mistake if they don't take him. I doubt he will dominate in his rookie year but he will be future star.

  3. Well Happy Birthday from a fellow SC Colts fan!  We are few but proud fans here in SC.  I have a portfolio autographed by Antonio Johnson that was given to me by a former boss that I will always cherish forever.

I live in Greer. How about you? Please don't tell me you are Clemson fan :)

  4. Hey man I can tell those Sigs are forgery... Just kidding, I've been watching to much PAWN STARS on tv. That's about a Pawn shop

if you never saw it before? Happy Birthday!! Sweet!! Your only that age once in your life!!

That's actually pretty funny that you mentioned them as forgeries because I did get another Manning jersey several years ago and it was a forgery. And yes I watch Pawn Stars on occasion also

  5. A buddy of mine, Jared Emerson, is a really big time artist down here in SC and has a lot of contacts. Anyway, he brought the jersey in first and we chatted for a while. He was getting ready to leave and acted like he forgot something in his car and then brought in the helmet. I was overwhelmed to say the leastpost-12237-0-00763200-1393810053_thumb.jpost-12237-0-61441000-1393810091_thumb.j

  6. I will never forget how mad I was. I was at the SC spring game listening to the draft on the radio. I was absolutely furious when we took Manning. The main reason I didn't like the pick was because we played Manning his 4 years at TN and i was never that impressed. To top it off he whined way too much after our last game with him his senior year when he had a horrible game against us. He said he played such a bad game because the only thing we were worried about was ruining his Heisman bid than trying to win that game. I was even madder the next year when we took Edge instead of making the deal with Ditka and NO. I still say that was a bone head move. We could have had NO's entire draft of 8 players and a 1st and 3rd the next year and maybe still could have gotten Edge with the 7th pick we got from NO. If I recall Pollian said he didn't want to make the deal because they couldn't afford all of those picks. I wasn't on the Colts board back then but I imagine that must have caused quite an uproar.

  7. I will never pull for Manning while he is in Denver because I don't want that * bag John Elway having any success for what he did to the Baltimore Colts back in '83. I can't stand that jerk.

As far as pulling for anyone other than the Colts is not permissible unless it will improve our team like it did 2 years ago. I was absolutely livid when we beat Houston on that Thursday night 2 years ago. If MN had not won that following Sunday we would have lost out on Luck. I was definitely pulling for Jax in our last game.

  8. We would be very fortunate to get Marcus Lattimore with our 3rd round pick. I can't guarantee he will stay healthy but he is worth the risk because the admiration others have for him will make us a better team. He will not get out worked by anyone on our team or in the league for that matter. He leads by example and makes others around him better. He was really the first big time recruit Spurrier landed at SC to get us headed in the right direction. Marcus was responsible for our success for his off the field actions as much or more than what he did on the field. The dude is special. Everyone knows how special Clowney is on the field. He is already projected to be the number one pick next year and several analyst said he would have been the number one pick this year. Well that's how special Marcus is off the field. Add to the fact he is a damn good running back also is just icing on the cake. If we don't get him I sure hope another AFC south team doesn't because I don't want to have to face him twice a year.

  9. Interesting trade. Enjoyed watching him at USC but never really paid much attention when he was in PHI. Wonder what we gave up

When you said you enjoyed watching him at USC I thought you were talking about Geathers. I mean he did play at the real USC, University of SC that is. I couldn't resist giving you a little jab there especially considering Spurrier was just in the news running his mouth why ESPN was in So Cal rather than at our place for pro day

  10. Considering this is only my second post you know I must be impressed to get me to post. Great job and what I like more than anything else is the chemistry reference. Our team could not have had nearly the amount of success they had last year without the team working together as well as they did. Add more talent with that same chemistry and I like our chances going forward.

  11. As i said we do need to look in latter rounds for another RB,and i do like Lattimore, but have my doubts about his knee,One of the worst looking injuries ive seen on tv .Lol sad to say but that one ranks right there with the Joe Thiesman deal.Football is a rough sport and you expect injuries ,but those 2 still give me a sick feeling in my stomach.

There are plenty of guys in the NFL that have come back from major knee surgeries. Willis McGahee is probably the nastiest injury I have ever seen and he's had a pretty good career. I can't guarantee Marcus will stay healthy but I can guarantee he will work harder than anyone on the team just to prove people wrong. He was just interviewed by the NFL Netwok and told them he plans on being ready to play the first game next year. And don't dare bet agaiinst him because he means what he says.He is a workout freak. I am a huge Gamecock fan and have watched every game he has played. He can do it all. Not only can he run but he has great hands and is a very good blocker when required to stay in and pick up blitzers. The only knock on him is he doesn't have break away speed but he makes up for it with his incredible vision. I swear he sees a hole open before it even opens. He really is an amazing running back and if you can believe it he's even a better person. He is going to make some team very very happy they took a chance on him. Houston has already told him that if he's still available in the 3rd round then they will take him. I just hope that we step up before them and grab him. He will make our team and community better. He really is special and we would be really lucky to have him.
