  1. Having Dallas, Minnesota, and especially Denver and Washington ranked higher than the Colts is really ignant
  2. Haha. Im not trying to be a smart elic but you are definitely wrong and the number is definitely not longer. Hot Rod was the best kicker in the league last year and was UDFA. Also Skai Moore started the first game in 2018 and got hurt and never played again but he did make the opening day roster
  3. I was listing to NFL on Sirius XM earlier today and they San Fran is the favorite. Colts and Bolts are a close second
  4. Doh. No you are not missing something, but apparently I did. You are correct which means it makes a lot more sense now. That's why I was so shocked when I first read it that we only ran 28.6% of the time.
  5. Without looking at the link first what percentage of runs do you think the Colts did last year? I was quite surprised. I was just as surprised that Baltimore led the league with their percentage. NFL Football Stats - NFL Team Rushing Attempts per Game | TeamRankings.com https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/rushing-attempts-per-game There will never be another team that runs it an absurd 70% of the time like the 72 Dolphins, but I would definitely like to see our percentage go up, especially with the RBs we have. I guess 40% seems really high considering what we did last year, and what Baltimore led the league with, but what the heck. If we're able to stay on the field running it 40% of the time we will be hosting the Lombardi next February so 40% is my final answer. Although I realize it will never happen. 1972 Miami Dolphins Stats | The Football Database https://www.footballdb.com/teams/nfl/miami-dolphins/stats/1972 And yes I see what TB did and still won the SB, but I like smash mouth football and think we could win one also with it.
  6. Every time I hear Reich speak I think about how lucky we are to have gotten him. I remember it like it was yesterday when my son called and asked what I thought about Josh McDaniel. I told him I liked the hire. I then found out what he was really asking about was my thought of him backing out. I was definitely not a happy camper. A few choice words were definitely directed towards McDaniel. I truly am thankful that it happened because I really do think Reich is one of the best coaches in the league. I know he is one of if not one of the best men in the league. Truly a great guy. I will admit I wish he wasn't such a risk taker with his play calling some times, but that's who he is.
  7. I was coming back to add this to my other post about the 1999 draft and saw yours and figured I would post it here instead. Had we made that * Mike Ditka think we were going to take Ricky Williams at #4 we could have had all of the Saints 6 picks in the '99 draft and a 1st and 3rd in 2000. The Saints made that trade to Washington instead at #5 and they indeed used several of those picks and moved up to #7 and took Champ Bailey. I imagine we could have done the same thing and still got Edge. If I recall Polian said he wouldn't have done that trade even if offered because he didn't want to have to pay that many draft picks
  8. Not taking Ryan Leaf in '98 draft. I kid you not I really was mad as a hornet when we took Manning instead...DOH
  9. This is pretty fun to play around with PFN Mock Draft Simulator https://www.profootballnetwork.com/mockdraft/
  10. Great article. Thanks for posting. Not sure if anyone read the WASHINGTON'S WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE article that followed. I didn't know Polian was there now and if Rivera fails it's definitely his fault with all the control he has. I'm quite surprised the GM answers to him. I wonder how many other NFL teams give their head coach the final say? I assume very few.
  11. I saw a tweet last week that was comparing GBs playoff futility to NDs because they have lost their last 4 NFC championship games. I knew we had a pretty bad record also, but I didn't know it was this bad. Since moving to Indy we've been in the playoffs 19 times and have 1 SB win to show for it. I'm not posting this to be critical because it's better to get in the playoffs and lose than not get there at all. My point is how surprised i was at the numbers. I'm a huge Atlanta Braves fan also. I'm afraid to look up their history because it's probably worse. List of Indianapolis Colts seasons - Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indianapolis_Colts_seasons
  12. Stats are overrated. How many games did you actually watch him play? He is double and triple teamed just about every play. His play allows other guys that aren't double teamed to accumulate worthless stats.
  13. I don't think it would have mattered what defensive scheme we used Monday with the effort we gave. To me it looked liked we had no interest in playing that game.
  14. I like the fact he is on the wr to make a play. Better than being so far off and getting burned. Football is a physical game. He will be fine
  15. I just think it was a silly play to run at that particular time. Calling it on 3rd down would have been more reasonable. I would be the first one to criticize conservative play calling. My dumb Gamecocks try to run it up the middle all the time and keep getting stoned. So I would love to see them try something like this play that was called. However, when KISS is working, and I'm not calling you stupid, then stick with it. Make them stop you before you try something else.
  16. I was thinking about this. We could easily have 2 picks in a row. Their first pick in the 2nd round and our last pick in the 1st round
  17. When we are gashing them up the middle and have a second and 2 inside the 5-yard line please don't try to be cute again and run a silly play when you don't have to. Especially on 2nd down. I understand they thought it was going to work and we're probably surprised it didn't, but why even take the chance the way we were dominating up front.
  18. Collinsworth said Cain was wide open on the trick play, but they never showed it in the replay. I would definitely like to see him get some jump ball opportunities down around the goal line
  19. Because Wilson made a bad pass on a simple throw he should complete most of the time he can't make the throw. A tough throw by my standards is when a QB has to drop it over a lb and in front of a safety/cb or a timing throw before the wr even comes out off his break. Having to hit a guy running wide open in the end zone when all he has to is lead him is not a tough throw.
  20. I'm not trying to be a wise guy but exactly how did Brissett throw him open? He was wide open on his own. That was an easy throw that any QB in the league should complete. And if he would have thrown it behind him it would have been a bad pass.
  21. The best part of the play was running and extra 40 seconds off the clock while trying to get them to jump. I will admit I was mad they didn't snap it. I thought for sure they were going to punt after the timeout. Had they run the play without running that extra time off the clock TN would have been in a lot better shape time wise on their last drive.
  22. I actually called for a running play before the snap so I definitely liked the call. This was probably already brought up in the 6 page Vinny thread but if not does anyone think we would still have gone for 2 if it were for the win. I think Reich actually would have since we were on the road and I would have loved the call win or lose
  23. I've never been a part of a world record and this thread might just reach record level. So if it does I'm happy to do my part
