  1. This was from a CHFF article that was totally over-the-top, but some interesting stats and info came out of it.

Peyton Manning has played with plenty of strong, Super Bowl-caliber defenses

Manning played with really bad defenses in his rookie season of 1998 and again in 2001. Brady played with a strong defense in his debut season of 2001 and a great defense in 2003.

Those first impressions created storylines that linger today: the average fan says Manning's career has been burdened by terrible defenses, while Brady has benefited from the defensive genius of Bill Belichick...

Including this season, Manning has played with seven different defenses that ranked in the Top 8 in scoring. Brady has played with eight different defenses that ranked in the Top 8 in scoring.

Manning's teams have surrendered an average of 21.4 PPG; Brady's teams 18.8 PPG.

Full article is here, don't kill the messenger.  ;)

There you went and sidetracked this thread. It's bout to get ugly up in here. I'm going to Arby's for a sammich.

  2. If you eliminate the playoff games (where home-field is earned), it's pretty close. Seven games in Foxboro, five in Indy (and six after Sunday).

I don't understand the home field "formula" when it comes to scheduling. Looks like if they play again next year (inevitable since both will easily win their divisions), it'll be at LOS again.

Its already scheduled  for Indy next year

  3. Well he's fruity for sure. Am I supposed to care about that?

I'd hardly call him fragile though. The only games he's ever missed were in 2008 when he blew out his ACL.

If he plays like he plays, he can wear a wedding dress, high heels, and lipstick for every press conference, as far as I'm concerned. I really couldn't care less about the personal lives/choices of athletes.

  Stop it your killing me now

Good article. Kind of a Frankenstein of some old information, with some new tidbits mixed in there. I especially like the parts from Hasselbeck about studying coordinators to pick up on what tendencies are, being prepared to make a play when the chance comes, etc. Nothing earth shattering, but good stuff.

Also, I meant to post earlier, but Hasselbeck was the third man in the booth for the Cards/Rams game last week, and did a pretty good job. His next career, if he wants it, is pretty much settled. He'll be a really good analyst.

    Thanks for the link

  5. as long as Luck doesn't look "Patriots Lost".  His last two games vs. New England were not good. He (luck) was flustered and looked bad at times---he is better now I think, but so is Billichik, someone who just seems to have our number if you look at the numbers.

First game he was a rookie. 2nd game was a playoff game at Gillette again with crap receivers. You would look flustered too.

  6. I was one who was Luke warm on the signing of walden at his price tag but he has really played his contract worth the latter 1/4 of last year and all the way this season. As for Newsome, I like his motor and potential to grow in this scheme. Studebaker is just one of those blue collar guys who brings his lunch pail to work and does what's asked. He isn't great but isn't any large problem In the scheme.

One of the biggest thing helping all these guys though has been the play of the dline. All 3 positions up front have been solid, more than any other time in the past decade or so. Let's hope the next few drafts find talent to keep the defense supplied with quality guys as the free agent signings contracts run out and/or a few retire.

Great 1st post. Welcome to the board.

  7. You're probably right FC. But TBH with you, as a diehard Colts fan, I sincerely hope that Pagano & Grigson are forcing us to play outside more. The franchises I respect the most can kick caboose under any conditions: Rain, snow, wind, ice, & fog.

I want INDY to break this false finesse misconception that the Colts need a controlled environment to win Playoff games. No, I'm not slamming Peyton Manning BTW. I'm just saying we can dominate any team anywhere regardless of what mother nature unleashes.

Football was made to played outside & if this coaching staff has us prepared for every possible circumstance that makes me happy & helps INDY out in the longrun.

I read Kevin Bowens status update story on this site about practice.

I agree with practicing outside if we have an outside game that week, but why try to play in cold weather if you dont have to. Luck and Co. are all young healthy men for the most part and I dont think the cold really matters to those young arms. I understand the ball is harder and all that just not so excited about being outside over inside. Once you started playing when you were younger did you feel the cold or any of the elements? I never did.

  8. You are dumb for saying this.. they kept Peyton out of the endzone and have 7 picks on Luck over his career .. why the heck would you say something like this?  And I think Talib, Ware, Miller, Trevathan, Potroast, TJ Ward and those guys are better than your defensive guys.. just saying.. your corners have been playing good but Antonio Brown did work.. if he can, then so can Gronk, Edelman and LaFell.. and that was with Ben throwing the ball.. this is Tom Brady.. the best stats the last 5 games for a QB in football

You think I am dumb for saying that.  lol   Have you read anything you have written lately???

.You forgot the first part of your user name when you signed in         Lacking in Football Knowledge

If you think that NE will keep Luck and Co. out of the endzone you are delusional.

  9. 18 pages of this lol.

The way to stop the Pats is to line up and smack them in the mouth. Pressure Brady up the middle and take Gronk away. Play aggressive physical Colts football.

I don't think this will be a close game. They can not stop our offense. And our D is awesome at home.

  10. I think I would cut ties with DT.

Too many injuries to his legs for an lineman. Pay the man and eat the cap.

We have a couple young prospects that need playing time. Ulrich John { is that his name?) is someone I would like see get a few snaps next year in training camp.

  11. Time for him to become a team player or get use to being on the bench. LaRon has been a disappointment to me so far.

I love Sergio's energy and constant chatter to fire the D up. Loved how it was 12 years to the day that his dad passed that he got his first start.

Showem what they missed out on in New England Sergio!!! Hope you have a monster game Sunday night!!!
