  1. I heard mccarthy say that they are taking it week by week and the players and coaches will address it on a week by week basis. I found that funny he said coaches and players, nobody else.

Nice to know there is a coach somewhere with the kahunas to not worry what the GM has to say............
  2. In other news.........The national weather has issued a tornado warning for the greater Indianapolis region. The national weather service has asked that all persons in the Indianapolis region report to Lucas Oil Stadium where there is no chance of a touchdown.

  3. I have never started a topic on the new board and I just wanted to discuss this topic specifically.

New Orleans is his hometown team. His dad even played for them! It would be like one of us life long fans rooting against the Colts because we played for the Saints. It has to be kind of bittersweet to endure that. For me, it was the most devastating loss in my 17 years as an Indianapolis Colts fan. I think it hurts Peyton even more. He now knows his team really is the bottoms of the NFL without him. And it is because of his greatness we have had the lowest overall draft picks over the last decade. Add to the fact we never get any big names in free agency because of the small market syndrome, and this was inevitable.

I think it was the hardest loss of his career. He was embarrassed in his home town tonight and we all were as true Colts. I really don't know if anyone or anything is to blame other than having the best record over the last decade and being in a small market during a hard cap era.

So how hard does everyone else think that game was for Peyton? I'm actually starting to fear for his career. This is sad.

The most devasting thing has to be Peyton realizing that with a real team and coaching staff everyone outside of the Colts fan base would know that he IS the greatest QB of all time.

  4. I would say....there is a fine line between "tanking" the season and "losing" the season. Either way you end up with a hostile environment...there is probably not a single player on the roster who is great with "tanking" or "losing" to secure a top draft pick...not even the backups who don't see a lick of playing time. I'd say hang on to Caldwell because this is exactly how we want the rest of the year to go (as a fan for the draft pick reason)...but then it also breeds such hostility and demoralization in the locker room. That alone could have a drastically negative effect on our future because it might take a tremendous amount of time to recover some of the ill feelings players might have toward the organization and their team mates.

Something needs to be done for sure...I don't mind if they lose, as long as they give it their heart and soul and perform (competitive or not). You can't tell me that the team we have isn't competitive (even without Manning) on any given day with any given team...we do still have some extremely talented players.

Come on folks...let's keep the future in mind though...we have something to look forward to.

I can't wait for WEEK 11...I promise we will NOT LOSE that week. We will absolutely positively win the BYE week without question! rotfl

There could always be an injury during that week, so being the pesimistic person I am I could see an "L" happening there also.

  5. Really? no different? how many low draft pick has done what he has done?... and ppl say brady is clutch? i call the dude a doctor when it comes to performing in the 4th quarter... the fact that peyton had players that had the skills to help him become who he is... and the fact that brady didnt means that he has been more impressive than manning because he workd with what he had.

And if there is anyone that has been coached up it was Peyton... he and tom moore came up with the no huddle and the different types of lingos to call their plays.

You ever heard of a guy named Joe Montana? What round you you think this guy was picked in? The round a QB is drafted in means nothing. Akili Smith? Ryan Leaf? The fact that you see Brady as better because he threw for 1 more TD in 6 more quarters of play, throw 100 more passes and throwingwith his team in the lead by 21 points on several occassions proves that you see greatness as being an individual achievement when in Bradys case it was a team that won it, not Brady.

The talent you claim Manning had was what? Harrison had done nothing before Manning. Aveage WR in a league of g

reats. Marcus Pollard ran to the Lions for more money and done nothing without Manning. Stokley went to Denver and has had a non-eventful career since.

The fact that all of Mannings targets are great with him and mediocre without him says all that I need. Manning is without a doubt the greatest QB I have ever seen play the game. Even having the great Marvin Harrison was a detriment to Manning. For all 88's greatness the guy just vanished in the playoffs. 1 great game versus the Broncos, 1 game. Other then that Marvin was a no show time and again.

You keep on thinking Brady is the greatest, the rest of us will know Manning is the greatest.

  6. Some fans need to understand that Lacey is lining up where he's told to line up. If, after all this time of giving a big cushion, he were not supposed to be doing it there's no way he'd still be getting as much playing time as he does. He's clearly lining up where the coaches want him.

I am sure that is where the coachs want him lining up, however when your CB is so bad he needs to give up a 15 yard cushion on 3 and 7 that says alot. That is the problem most of us have with Lacey. He may be in a coaches position, but he is NEVER in position to make the play when he is needed. For what ever reason......Lack of coverage skills, closing speed, tops speed, lack of something..........

  7. It's nice to see all the Colts caps, jackets, etc. given the current state of the team. A FAN should still wear his/her stuff. I'm sure there are a few that don't. We should all still show our appreciation for the last 10+ years. There are many fans of other teams that have not and will never experience what we have.

I was trying to sell some of my Colts stuff.........You would not believe how hard it is to get rid of a slightly used pair of Colts underwear with Jim Harbaughs number and name.........Have not wore them since Manning was drafted.....Anyone interested?????? :omg:

  8. He's breathing, therefore by default he must be better than Lacey.Simple equation. If I had a dollar for every time a reciever caught a ball right in front of him on 3rd and 14 I would be rich.

It's not so much right in front of him, you can't say RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM.............I mean the guy is normally giving a 25 yard cushion so really nothing is ever right in front of him. Does Lacey not understand in order to cover someone you normally need to be in the same zip code?

  9. Yea, this is coming from a guy with the infamous "caricature of a guy murdering himself over a keyboard/PC" meme. Man, I try to get away from that meme all the time, but it follows me everywhere. Honestly, I hope the mods make you remove it, because that type of avatar really has no place here on an all-ages forum.

It was a joke, build yourself a bridge and get over it. As for my avatar, it's a cartoon for petes sake. Tom and Jerry......Simpsons........Family guy.......Kids see MUCH worse then a guy typing himself to death on T.V. on a daily basis. I must say I am glad the MODS do not enforce your values upon us all.

  10. do we need to sign 13 qbs , will our o-line get one hurt every week?

I say yes, sign 13 of them.....Roll them into 1.......forget it, I thought maybe we might get close to Mannings talent but then I realized even 13 QB's together dont hold a candle to Manning.....

  11. pointless, peyton is gonna be 37 coming off neck surgery to repair nerve cells. whether peyton plays well coming back is irrelevant because peyton is only gonna be around at most 4 years. we have a golden opportunity to solidify our franchise's success for the next 15 years if we get luck. i dont understand why everyone wants to just give peyton weapons just so we can have success for just 4 years. we get luck we have the QB of the future for our franchise. we get peyton weapons and we're putting ourselves in a hole once hes gone. sure we can draft a QB later, but when is there ever gonna be someone like andrew luck again.

Quoted for truth. If we are in the great fortune of getting a shot a Luck we take him. If Polian was to pass on that chance I would escort him out of Indy myself.

  12. My opinion on the whole Polian, Caldwell and Irsay circus is as follows. Many posters on here believe we should leave Polian alone for the fact that he has built a perinial winner in Colts land. However I believe Polian had the great fortune of drafting Manning instead of Leaf, looking at this year and seeing where we are headed as a team without Manning it is clear to see that Manning....Not Polian, Caldwell or Irsay is the glue of this team.

1 draft pick by Polian made our fortune, had we gotten Leaf then Polian would have been out as GM long ago. Because of 1 pick that was a no brainer we have been blessed to be Colts fans. That pick alone has made the Colts who they are. Not the draft picks since, not Polians knowledge of the game nor has any certain coach.

Have your posting wars among each other, doubt Polian, side with Polian. While doing so look at the team this year and where it is headed. We still have all the players Polian drafter minus 1. Polian drafted Manning who is IMO the :goat: that does not make Polian our savior. The core around Manning has been dropping off year after year. This is Polian. Manning making Blair White.....Tamme......Garcon into names to be feared tells me who made this team as it should tell all other fans who has made this team what it is.
