  1. They wouldn't cut him because he fumbles, plus it isn't even a huge problem. Not having the ability would be more like he can't hang with the other guys. He could.

They would not cut him because he fumbles?????????Plus its not a huge problem?????????? Little know secret.......Running backs are required to hold the ball........while running..........Not holding onto the ball may at least be a small problem as the other team would like to hold onto said ball.

Think about it like this.......If Painter throwing the ball to the other team was a bad idea and may have influenced his demise as a Colt, how could fumbling it to the other team be a good idea? Its really simple, turn overs cost players starting roster spots every year thru out the NFL. Do you really think a 3rd string back is safe?

  2. Ah, I see. I read the 17-point thing from a website somewhere. I stand corrected. Maybe the site I was looking at was talking about a team never winning after being down 17-0 or something. If so then I think that they are right.

You were partially correct, that what Kap did was the largest ever by a rookie.

  3. This is a topic that analysts have talked about over the last few weeks and I cannot believe how many of them think that Luck will not. The way I see it, Luck started an ENTIRE season without injury and won more games than RG3 did last year. He also had more yards and TD passes along with all of the 4th quarter comebacks and game winning drives that he executed. Robert Griffin III had a better completion percentage, however, a big part of that is because he did not throw the ball nearly as much and when he did it was short high-percentage passes. The fact that RG3 won Offensive Rookie of the Year just shows you that the award is nothing but a big popularity contest. It is up to the players votes though. Id love to see what everyone else thinks

Hey, if he ranks above Curtis Painter...................I'm good.

  4. Personally,  I've had more than a few 'cranium cramps' in my time....   more than a few....    and one or two (at least)  on this very website!

That said,  you seem relatively new Cranium Cramp,  which is only to say that I don't know you at all....   and I can't quite tell how serious -- or not -- to take your post....

You're scaring me,  my new friend!     Scaring me!     :beg:    :omg:     Please don't do that!

Been here for years......I mean years, old name was colts18288. After Manning left I figured it was rime for a new name. Some of the posts around here give me a head ache. So, I thought......cranium cramp......BRILLIANT.

However I am just messing with ya.....................Or am I??????????????? You think your scared? My therapist still cradles his knees and rocks himself.

  5. Dear Dustin......

I don't know what you were looking for by making a post that would make everyone's friend, JShipp,  seem like the smartest human being walking the face of the earth since the dawn of time......

    Were you looking for props?

Were you looking to start a debate?

If so,  it's likely to be the shortest debate of all-time.

Matt Ryan has played 5 years.   In that time,  the Falcons have gone to zero Super Bowls.   That's one less than one.

In Tom Brady's first 5 years, the Patriots went to three Super Bowls and won them all.   That's one less than four.   By the way, Brady was the MVP in two of those three Super Bowls.

So....   re-capping.    Ryan is without even a Super Bowl appearance on his resume.    Brady has three Super Bowl victories and two Super Bowl MVP's.

And yet, you think Ryan has had a better first five years than Brady did?

You might as well argue that the number zero is a larger number than the number 100.    Good luck with that.

There's no argument for your case.

I'll even make another argument on the chance that I've misunderstood your meaning.   I don't think Matt Ryan's first five years are better than Tom Brady's worst five years.    I think you're that far off the mark.

Hey, we all make strange posts from time to time -- I'm certainly no exception.    But your claim is a whopper of incredible proportion.

You get today's Big Fat           Sorry,  there's no other way around it.....    just

The best news.....   tomorrow can only be a better day for you!

I agree with 99.9% of your post. Note the bold underlined statement. 0 is greater then is greater then 100, because without 0 you only have 1. Not to mention 0 is infinite. The only number that has no beginning and has no end.................See, if you would just open your mind.................. :excited:. Don't forget though, if you open your mind you MUST wear the tinfoil hat at all times and for lords sake...........STAY OFF MAN HOLE COVERS. :panic:

  6. I think it is going to take another 2 maybe 3 years for this D to be top tier. However I also believe that this years draft is going to surprise a lot of people. I think we jump into the top 21-17. Which is much better then last year. Hopefully we can find a ground game to take some pressure off the D.

With as much attention as our O line was addressed, you know Kip is running the ball. You know what they say, the less you see off the defense the better.

  7. Wells is a clown. He's the sole reason I don't visit Stampede Blue anymore.....ever.

I still visit because there are (like every site) good and bad articles. However  that said, Wells is clearly not a "writer" anyone should place any merit in. He is a hack always trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

  8. Lol my only obsession would probably be How I Met Your Mother.

But your on the Colts website forum...............In the off season.............On a spring day.................With probably something else more productive to do with your time.................Maybe even neglecting some people with your devotion to the amount of time spent all things Colts during the season..........Well I only have one thing to say to you sir.........................................................

Welcome to the club, always looking for new members.. Now admit it. You kind of do have a FULL FLEDGED obsession with the :coltsfb:

  9. I'm not saying your wrong....but why do you think this? In what areas is Vick Ballard better than DB?

If you would allow me, I would rather make my list in areas In which ways is Vick Ballard not better then Donald Brown.

    1. Not wasting a roster spot.

    2...................

  10. 2 Super Bowl appearances for the Colts and 1 Super Bowl win. How many did we win or participate in before Polian came to Indy?

Pre Polian era 1984-1997 the Colts were 88-135 and won 39.46% of the games played.

The Polian era 1998-2011 the Colts were 143-81 and won 63.84% of the games played.

10 game win seasons before the Polian era happened 0 times.

10 game win seasons during the Polian era happened 11 times, and 9 of them were straight. 8 seasons were 12 wins or better, and 7 were straight.

Yeah, not too many GMs have ever done that.

Polian had the great fortune of riding some coat tails, Manning is the single greatest reason that this team did as well as it did. Ask yourself this simple question. Without Manning yet retaining Polian would we have had that success? Now keeping Manning and not having Polian?

Polian had 2 of the greatest QBs of their respective eras. Manning and Kelly, look at Buffalos team versus Manning and the Colts. For every star player on the Colts there seems to be a counter part at the same position on the Bills. Manning-Kelly, Reed-Marvin. Edge-Thomas. Smith-Dwight. I mean is uncanny what he did without most people realizing that he had replicated this team using the blue print from the Bill's.

To bad he could never figure out how to draft a reliable kicker. had he figured that out then we could talk about him being a great GM. :stir:

  11. No, Tony Dungy fully embraced that philosophy as well. I agree 110% that it affected our post-season performance negatively, but to say Polian forced it on the coaches all those years would be incorrect. The only year I believe that would be true of is 2009.

I can only say that we will agree to disagree. I am of the thinking Polian more rode the coat tails of Manning, don't get me wrong. Polian was a good GM. However, when a GM finds that one QB. Montana, Brady, Manning......................... :goodluck: Luck :goodluck: a QB that can define the very game itself.

I see Polian as a GM who had the great fortune of have Jim Kelly, Peyton Manning as well as to many great players from the Bills heydays as well as the Colts. Think about that for one minute, At every position the Bills had as many if not more the we did. All that talent and 1 ring.

  12. I realize trashing Polian is all the rage these days on this board.  Some of it deserved - his string of poor drafts, his abrasive personality and the contradictions cited in this story and elsewhere.  But in my view the Colts were far better off with him than they would have been otherwise.

I am grateful for Grigson now and fully appreciate the new regime.  But I am thankful for the great decade of the 2000's in which Polian was a huge part of.

If he would have kept his nose out of coaching maybe I could have looked past everything else. His "sit 'em" mentality ruined a few post season runs. IMO.

  13. It's very easy to watch every Colts game when living in Europe. I've missed about 3 Colts games in the last 5 years. Where there is a will, there is a way......

Seriously. Your getting up at 2 am to watch the game. You missed 3 in 5 years. I suppose you call yourself a fan. :hmm:   I joke, I joke................or do I :dunno: ?
