  1. Manusky hasn't been anything more than average at best for the Colts, but then again Grigson has put WAY more emphasis on building a powerhouse offense instead of defense.  Similar to NO, they pay their franchise players top dollars and let the defense hang out to dry.  Besides Cameron Jordan, who else does the Saints have on defense?  Byrd was a bad investment from the start, IMO so I wouldn't even consider him as a great player.

Why does Manusky continue to be let off the hook then?  Why isn't people calling for his job?  There is much more to analyzing than looking at the stat sheet.  Even though our defense doesn't look good on paper, doesn't mean it is all their fault.  Given the defenses stat sheet, there is no reason to keep him.  Personally I like GM but we could do better, not saying Rob would be better though, however we do need to change some things.

different issue for a different thread. This ain't about Manusky.

My vote would be no. Unless he wore one of Griff's actual game jerseys, that's the only way I want him as DC. That alone would keep the opposing team's QBs eyes off an entire side of the field.

  2. seriously, who the heck is leaking stories every 5 seconds

well, if I were responsible for putting the O line in front of Andrew. If I were the person that picked Pep over Chud. If I were the person that had to sit in front of Irsay and explain how we went from SB contender to where we are now.

If I were responsible for all of those things then I may leak a story or 2 just to get some media heat off me. However, I'm not the guy responsible for those things. So I have no idea where the leaks are coming from.

  3. Don't really have a favorite on the team. But nothing gets me pumped like Mathis putting on a clinic. Something about watching the opposing team's QB with that fear in his eyes, knowing it's coming, feeling the breath as Mathis creeps closer every down. Watching the panic set in, linemen jumping the snap. Knowing if Robert gets 1 step on them its over.

Mathis........Well be darned, I guess I do have a favorite.

  4. If I were Andrew Luck..........................I think I would have been benched if I were Andrew. Many of you fans would have lynched RG for drafting 45 year old QB that's runs a 8.0 40 yard dash. I could rain some 15 yard "bombs". 35 yard hail Mary. You ain't seen a spiral till you seen 1 of my spirals.

Now back in my heyday, yea I can remember some of the compliments my coaches would give me. Look we all know the story of the tortoise and the hare. My mom told me that story a million times as a little boy. Well my coach always called me the tortoise. I remember his exact words. "Sterling.......You move like a 3 legged drunk turtle"........I'm like.........I know right.

My throwing skills...Remember that spiral I told you about earlier. Let me see if I can remember his exact words.........."Sterling, every time you touch the ball, things spiral outta control". Sometimes I got to hear him say that 2-3 times a game.

I once asked my coach about my talents. He told me my skills were indescribable. Something about me having the brains of a dead turnip and the coordination of a drunk peg legged, one eyed pirate in a tsunami......What ever that's means.

Now that I think about it, you all should petition Irsay to give me the starting job. You guys would be "amazed" at the way I could transform this team.

If not I understand, we are kinda attached to Andrew now......I could give the WR core a shot in the arm though. The Alligator Arms comments and the "Sterling ......you catch like a T-rex" remarks are fresh as ever. However that's a conversations for another thread, this is about me being in Andrew place and what would I do.

I would "amaze" you all, that's all I'm saying.

  5. 27-17 Colts. I have a feeling Gore and Bradshaw are going to have a coming out party..........I hope anyway. Surely Chud realizes you don't throw into the heart of that D if you don't need to. I think we pound the rock early, force the linebackers to respect the run. Draw in the safeties to open up passing lanes to get Andrew out of his funk.

  6. Surprise, surprise... lol

    Surprise, surprise... lol

Why in the name of all that's holy would any Colts fan give credence to any of the bile that Skip regurgitates from that fermented hole that he calls a mouth.

If Andrew Luck were to win the next 10 super bowls and throw for a Billion yards and a million touchdowns Griffion would still be better. I don't know why, but Skip feels toward Luck mirror many Colts fans feelings about Brady.

  7. Frankly, i say simpler fix for Pagano,.........................Bench him.  Those deep routes on pass plays are there for Qb's to take a quick look as the play starts,..not develops.   if it is not obviously there, then you're supposed to  go to the underneath routes since those would be at the height of their development by then.

Staring  down a deep route is a flaw in a qb...benching him would make him reconsider his decisions.

MH had deep routes on his plays as well, when he Qb'd those two weeks, but he was smart enough to glance at them and if it wasn't there, he moved on quickly....

I still say this is Lucks flaw to fix.

You don't need to send receivers 20-30 yards deep on almost every play. Hitches, comebacks and slants cause the defensive backs to tighten up coverages, making them susceptible to the deep ball. This also forces the linebackers into coverage having to account for the middle of the field on any defensive back trailing their men. That in turn opens up running lanes.

A game plan would be to start setting up a defensive back with several comeback routes to Hilton with Moncreif running hitches. Take all the 5-10 yard outs they give. Sooner or later, the backs will start playing in the receivers hip pocket. That's when you go deep.

Look, your pro Pep. Me, not so much. Safe to say we not agreeing any time soon. Let's just hope when this train wreck is over no one remembers how it started.

  8. ummmmmmm, really watch the past couple weeks. Most of the time it is Luck's fault he's getting hit.  No O-line n the NFL can protect a QB who holds the ball as long as Luck does.  That's not Pep's fault, when Luck HAS players running underneath and slant routes, but CHOOSES to hold the ball to let longer routes develope, then because of this the shorter routes are done, and then he has nowhere to throw.  I watched 5-6 times last night where Luck had EASY completions to wide open recievers for 5-8 yard gains, but his eyes were down field the whole time.  This is Lucks issue,..completely, and soley.

So........simply fix......call plays with no deep routes. Is that so hard to do. Take Andrew out of shotgun. Take away those route options and force him to look underneath the defense. I understand Andrew shoulders some blame. Pep shoulders more, he has the playbook and the play calls. Failure to adjust. What's the saying from a Einstein. To repeatedly preform the same action and expect different results is the very definition of insanity.
  9. I believe We will win this game! I just don't see this team losing 4 straight games. I don't have any rhyme or reason. I believe our Defense can play well

Your quite the optimistic fan I must say. I think it's gonna be more depressing then watching a t-rex play a violin.............Not a very happy mental picture is it.........
  10. Bull. All those crappy throws from Luck and you blame this on Pep just because you don't know of anything else to do.

ummmmmmmm.........I'm gonna go wayyyyyyyyyy out on a limb.......3 step drop. Loads of running. That's what they should be doing. Do you see Luck getting abused. I believe Luck should be doing Kleenex commercials with all the snot that's been knocked out of him.

Pep's job is to work with what he has. Game plan accordingly. Yea we all know Luck can go deep to TY. But it's not there because there ain't enough time. Pep's failure to either see or understand this is so blatantly obvious.

  11. Thank you.

For a large chunk of the game I was asking for the "Hasselbeck offense"...

Just get the ball out of Luck's hand,  asap.

Why is that so hard?     But apparently,  it is.

    ^^^^^^^^^this^^^^^^^^^

What is so difficult to understand about this concept? It's not like we are discussing quantum mechanics, geopolitical science, astrophysics or women. We are talking a 3 step drop with a lot of running.

  12. We were ecouraged by the first half against the Patriots too...then what happened.... I'm expecting us to get throttled next week. Denver is going take us to woodshed.

there ain't enough room in what wood shed for the beating that's coming our way.
  13. This is the game that could end a lot if carrier s here in Indy. Almost makes me one to root for Manning over the Colts. Win win situation. Manning heading to meet Brady for what be his final regular season game to decide home field.

What do we win you ask......No, I'm pretty sure everyone knows what we win.
