  1. As a fan in NYC i have to agree. I got to see waaaay more games when we played the Jets twice a year....and I could even go to a game once a year.

Once we changed to the AFC south, I would go years before seeing a game on TV...Until Peyton Manning came a long, and then we were on TV here in NYC all the time (because of Manning). Another casualty of getting rid of him (besides being a good team).

Now that we have Luck, we've been on TV ONCE and it was the Patriots...

THANK YOOOOOU!!! Just want to add thank goodness for that thursday night game on the NFL network and that Monday night prime time game on ESPN. Other then that, It's my cell phone radio app, smh....

  2. Here is a crazy idea:

Each year the team that wins there division is put into a division and 2nd place and so on....

So here is what this years divisions would look like based off of last year:

    Tier 1:

    New England

    Houston

    Denver

    Baltimore

    Tier 2:

    Pittsburgh

    Titans

    San Diego

    Jets

    Tier 3:

    Cincy

    Jacksonville

    Oakland

    Miami

    Tier 4:

    Colts

    Kansas City

    Cleveland

    Buffalo

That way every year teams are competing against the same caliber of teams twice. One at home and one away. I know its a logistical nightmare but hey we are just bringing some ideas to the table right?

Right. Look at me, I want to realign a whole division just so I can take a 20 minute drive to see my team play, LOL!

  3. 1. In response to the death of one of their teachers - Jennifer Longworth - in the Richmond Hills explosion tragedy - the Greenwood school system has set up a scholarship program !! For the first 10 years - the scholarship winner MUST be a former student of Jennifer Longworth !!

Not surprizingly - Colts owner Jim Irsay was the FIRST donor to the scholarship fund !! I continue to be amazed by the generousity of this gentleman when it comes to local charitable concerns !!

    2. Sunday at the Buffalo Bills home game - a Colts cheerleader agreed to have her head shaved by Colts mascot "Blue" in response to his challenge to raise $10 thousand for Leukemia research.

First - "Blue" put in the effort to raise more than the original $10 thousand - instead raising OVER $22 thousand !!

Secondly - Cheerleader Megan kept her commitment to have her head shaved - but - was joined by a second cheerleader & cancer survivor Crystal Anne !! They both went "bald" in their selfless support of Coach Chuck Pagano !!

Lastly - in yet another "classy move" - BOTH cheerleaders donated their long locks to "Locks of Love" - a charity which makes wigs for children with cancer !!

I don't know about the rest of you - but - I am THRILLED to be a fan of a team of CLASSY individuals - from the owners office - all the way thru the remainder of the organization !!

I'm new to the forum! I'm trying to find parts 1-4 of these threads! This is amazing!

  4. I'm sitting here bored watching the Eagles/Panthers game on monday night football. It's half time and my mind is just wondering and I was just thinking how cool it would be to see my Colts play in New York, guarenteed every year.

Like I can just hop in my car and root for them live and then be back home by dinner. I want the Miami Dolphins out of the AFC EAST and I want the COLTS in! It makes better sense to me. I mean the Colts and Jets have sort of a rivalry already (superbowl 3 and the more recent blow out this year). heck, we could continue our feud with the Pats and we can continue to spank Buffalo twice a year! It makes perfect sense.

Let Miami, the Texans, Titans and Jaguars figure it out in the South. This makes so much sense to me! Plus if the Colts play both the Jets and Giants in one season, I can just make a 20 minute drive to see my Colts twice! I'm gonna catch a cab to see the commissioner and tell him, LOL!

  5. I don't agree with you at all on the Detroit game, with Mathew Stafford as their QB how in the world do you see them only scoring 13 points! lol Also unfornately I don't see us winning that game, Stafford will definitely put up more points than Luck in Detroit.

I think our D can hold them to just 13. Stafford's weapons make him better then he appears, if we can stay in his face and double megatron, we can make that a very long afternoon for them.

  6. Okay, because I am a musician at heart AKA "Little Drummer Boy," I am going to view this from the perspective as a young, hungry band desperately trying to land a lucrative multi-disc record deal. It took the Scorpions, 1 of my favorite bands, 12 years to get a record deal with PolyGram Records. This German band did a lot of non glamorous jobs during the day & played whatever gigs they could book at night.

Eventually, it took the Scorpions over a decade to land a record contract, but once they did they quickly rose to the top due to disappointment, rejection, & a ton of blood, sweat, tears, & backbreaking hardwork. Over a decade to reach the zenith of their musical profession & they remained a top tier group for the next 20 years & beyond. Their international following is incredible & mind blowing to this day.

My point is I don't want the Colts to make the Playoffs this year because the more adversity they face as a team; the greater the fire & inner intensity to succeed will catapult the Indianapolis Colts to the Promiseland for a longer & more sustained period of time IMO. Success cannot come to quickly or you tend to take it for granted, assume it's easy, & not fully appreciate how you achieved & accomplished said success. Naturally, I don't anticipate waiting for a decade to make a Playoffs run; more like a drought of 1 or 2 seasons at the most. Just my 2 :2c: anyway....

Although I am also a musician at heart and I love your post, I respectfully disagree! Live in the moment, reign in the present, get to the playoffs this year and worry about next year, next year! heck, be the first rookie to make it to the superbowl!!!

  7. DETROIT- A very nasty team who is not a reflection of their record. They are very physical and nasty on defense. To me, they will play us hard and I expect a low scoring, defense oriented game with a lot of penalties and will come down to whoever can score last in the 4th quarter. I think we win this one 23-13

TITANS- We win this one convincingly, 31-16

    TEXANS- We split them

KANSAS CITY- Our hardest game! They are down and out and will be playing just to ruin our day and record. We win this game by a field goal in the 4th quarter!

These are my predictions, feel free to discuss or add your own predictions!

  8. For his first 4 months in the NFL I think Luck is amazing, considering the talent around him! The sloppiness and things of thatnature can be corrected by our excellent coaching staff who wants to win as bad as we want them to win. Just relax, we amre a work in progress and it's better to work on things that's bad after a win then after a loss. I'm proud of our QB and this team!

  9. The Texans and Patriots are the only two teams I fear. The Texans to me are our immediate (<---no spell check) threat to division dominance and they are kicking you know what right now! Yeah, they may be scraping by in overtime getting wins, but a win is a win regardless.

I'm new to this division so I have to read up on how we match up against the Texans and which teams usually have our number, but as of this season, as far as what I've observed I am going to make an educated guess and say that this division title goes through Texas. Plus we play them twice almost back to back.

I'm so curious to see how we do against them because we have not played them yet. I've watched three of their games this year and I give them all the respect in the world. But at the end of the day, it's GO COLTS, SUPERBOWL CHAMPS!

I admit, being a new Colts fan, I got a lot of homework to do to read up on the stats of my team and I have to learn more about the players on my team so I can add more to the conversation when talking to football fans, right now I kind of suck.

  10. Due to the fact that I'm surrounded by jets fans and the Bills are in their division, I'll just repeat what I hear at work: The Bills are known for throwing away games they are suppose to win. Their D is infamous for giving up in the fourth quarter if it is nessasary for the D to make a stop to win the game.

Also, their quarterback is extremely hit or miss. He can be Tom Brady in one game, and then not show for the next. Or he can give you a run for the money all the way into the fourth quarter then just throws the game away. Ryan Fitzpatrick is very good, but too inconsistant, you don't know which game he's going to show up at.

They are the doormat of the AFC East for a long time and have made serious moves this off season to change that by spending a lot on new talent and resigning key players. The first half of the season has been disappointing, but it appears they are starting to get hot after just recently going toe to toe with the Patriots only losing in the last seconds of the game, and their recent win against Miami.

After spying on their message board, they believe they gonna destroy us since the pats just wooped us and they gave the pats a hard time in a narrow loss. The Bills are determained to end their decade and a half playoff drought and see us as a mere speed bump on that road to redemption.

I think we can woop them if we put pressure on their inconsistant QB and shut the running game down.

  11. ...a middle of the pack 8-8 team (9-7, 7-9).......

.......Ehhhh. I hear people trying to continue the playoffs mantra. And I understand. But we'll be on the road against a good team (like last night). We just don't have the horses yet. We can compete so that is a victory when compared to last year. And I guess that'll be enough for me this season.

I understand what you are saying, but think about this: With a rookie quarterback and a young team such as this, we are playing WAAAAAY beyond what we're suppose to be. In fact, we are suppose to look like the way we do two years from now, but somehow we are legit contenders after the Indianapolis Colts basically pressed the "reset" button.

Honestly, we are not suppose to be this good so fast. That's why the Patriot blow out does not affect me so much. Can you imagine how good we will be a year from now or two? I see the future of this team as bright as the sun, but as far as the present, I see us as perhaps the weakest team in the PLAYOFFS due to lack of experience but who know, we might slip past the first round with LUCK!

  12. none of the games are "must win". people have to realize something: we are not seriously competing this season for anything significant. It will be a serious struggle to win 9 games this year. If we end up winning 9 games, that is quite the achievement.

If we make it to the playoffs, amazing and improbable. If we somehow don't make it one and done and actually get through to the second round, complete overachievement, and a team like the Pats or Texans will blow us out of the water in the playoffs. I'll reference the Broncos from last season as an example.

I disagree about none of the games being a must win game and I disagree with you saying we are not playing for anything significant. We play to win I can't make it any more simple then that. That's why they practice all weak and make sacrifices before taking the fiel, all of that effort apnd hard work can't be in vain.

Even if it's mathmatically impossible to get into the playoffs from here on out, they are still playing for something significant which is the pride of their city and fanbase. I dont think they should not play with any less intensity for the rest of the year even if the playoff spot is shut, the name of the game then becomes fijish with pride.

Even if they DO make the playoffs and make a first round exit, I would still be proud! Now lets destroy buffalo!

  13. You have to put things into perspective. Andrew Luck and the Colts are went up against one of the best teams in the NFL, the patriots. As much as I hate them, you can't deny that Tom Brady and the Pats are an ELITE franchise who has boasted a winning record for decades.

We ran right into one of the best in the league and got rocked! Today showed our flaws and highlighted our inexperience. However, I believe that this Indianapolis Colts team is not the end all, finished product. Although we aren't ready to tussle with the Pats, I believe we will still win games on our sheduale, I believe Andrew Luck and this team will get better and become a force to be reckoned with, and I beleive no matter how this season ends, playoffs, wildcard, or bust, we already exceeded expectations!

This is year one, and it's only gonna get better from here! Watch!
