Most fans on here wanted the Colts to go Safety round 1. But IMO. Dorsett was the right pick. I honestly think Geathers will turn out better than Collins or that kid Green Bay drafted in RD. 1
-
I've said it before, it's Dorsett's chance to blow. Rookie WR placed on a team with one of the hottest QB's in the NFL and 2 vets at WR that can teach him. You can't ask for a better spot to be in as a rookie
You can have all the weapons in the world, but if the offensive line doesn't approve.. You can wash all of these guys talents down the drain if you can't get the ball to them.
-
Just cause he's fast and can beat people doesn't mean he's the prototypical outside guy. Outside is meant to be tall to beat the tall corners. I'll grant he's an exception, but he's not an outside guy like johnson, johnson, greene, bryant, etc.
Yeah.. I can see the Colts putting Moncrief on the outside a ton. And possibly Fleener as well.
-
I don't think TY is an outside guy, but he's all we got. Dorsett can fill the outside role eventually.
TY can play all over the field, but with more play makers around him and Frank Gore at Running Back.. He's going to be a lot more deadlier than ever.. Teams can't cover all these guys.
-
Dorsett was beating Vontae Davis during mini camp on some plays.. what do you think he's going to do against a slot corner?
The pick makes sense, especially if TY Hilton lands somewhere else next season. Not many people are talking about it, but he also helps us out in our return game. He gives our offense another speedy target that defenses aren't going to know how to handle.
And the Patriots were in love with the kid.. So, what does that tell you?
-
I on the other hand was never much of a fan of him. But it's good to see what he's doing off the field..
-
I would have loved to have a healthy Ahmad Bradshaw and Frank Gore as our 1-2 punch this year..
I'll keep dreaming.
-
Sign Evan Mathis, cut Thomas and Cherilus and move Mewhort to RT.
Then we will be as good as anybody.
-
no need to waste money. We have lots of battles in camp
Signing Evan Mathis is not a waste of money. Keeping someone like Donald Thomas on the roster is a waste of money. And if we keep Gosder and he can't stay on the field, we will most likely move Mewhort to tackle, which is going to leave a huge hole at the guard position. We need to win now.. and this offense's full potential won't work if we can't run the ball and protect Luck.
-
Signing Evan Mathis WOULD NOT be a waste of money. I think if Cherilus can't stay healthy we should cut ties to him, sign Mathis, and move Mewhort to RT.
I have zero faith in Donald Thomas and Hugh Thornton.
I'd be happy with Costanzo, Mathis, (center) Herremans, Mewhort

Don't want him here..
-
I rather see give our younger guys more reps and playing time.

Besides Dorsett, Anderson and Smith are two guys I can't wait to see in pre-season. I think these two guys can be studs for us in the future.
-
The Colts defensive line and secondary just got a little bit better today.
-
Doubt they will roll the dice on Freeney. They will probably just roll with what they have until he returns. It's not like he's missing half the season or more. They will be okay.
-
Really? I could have sworn that I heard over and over again on here since 2006 that if we had a bunch of fat guys on the defensive line that no one would be able to run on us
Who said that? Lol.
-
We will lost this attribute once we cut Donald Thomas.
-
I think A lot is going to depend on the development of Moncrief and Dorsett, and of course Hilton's asking price.
AJ can't play forever.. but I'm hopeful we can get something done.
-
He had already factored in Luck and Hilton. Fleener and Allen are not marquee.
Grigson somehow is gonna resign Hilton. I honestly don't think we should worry about it.
You should always worry. I mean, we still can use the franchise tag. But either way, we need to keep Hilton with us.
-
Could we? Sure. We haven't been very good coming out of the gate since we drafted Luck, but if we want home field advantage throughout the playoffs, these are two games that we must win. We need to take care of the football, stop the run and protect Luck.
I think we will do just fine.
-
I'd trade him for a high caliber defensive player AND a high draft pick.
-
i hear ya, but they neeeed offense. having one of the best line backers in the game wont help you much against peyton if you cant score. i think ty is at least a top 10 WR maybe better. also i think WR is a more important position than a non edge rushing LBer
id be willing to throw in a third round pick or lower too
What other marquee free agents do the colts have besides Castonzo?
i know it more than likely wouldnt happen
Luck, Hilton, Allen, Fleener.

Sad to say it, but I think I agree with you there. I will be more disspointed, however, if Irsay breaks the bank on TY and pays him close to what Dez and Demaryious got. We need to build a TEAM, and that means having core defensive players too, not just offensive playmakers.
Before the Draft I really couldn't imagine us without him. BUT. If he gets too greedy and commands too much money, well let him walk. If he wants to leave a championship and Andrew Luck for a few dollars, See ya! I feel good about having Johnson, Moncrief, Dorsett and Carter.
